Study Group – K-drama Episode 6 1

Elsewhere, Ga-min escorts Se-hyeon home, only to face the wrath of Se-hyeon's mother for his tardiness. She sternly instructs him to prepare for a school transfer, a decree that sends Ga-min into a tailspin. Se-hyeon dismisses her words as mere threats, but Ga-min knows better; his mother has always been as resolute as she is unyielding. As night descends, she hands him a list of potential new schools, each name a potential new beginning or a fresh burden.

Before drifting off, Ga-min confides in Se-hyeon, asserting that he harbors no regrets about saving him, despite the consequences. Se-hyeon, curious, wonders why Ga-min is so steadfast in his academic pursuits when his mother seems indifferent to his grades and they are amply endowed financially. Ga-min shares that the absence of expectations weighs heavier on him; a flashback reveals a youthful Ga-min besieged by media queries about living up to his genius father's legacy. Later, he overheads his parents conversing, his mother pleading with his father not to pressure him into replicating his father's brilliance.

The following day, Ga-min and his mother arrive at the school principal's office to discuss his transfer. The study group peers through the window, realizing that Ga-min's less-than-stellar grades could thwart an easy transfer. Yet, Ga-min's mother reveals an ultimatum – they will relocate to Seoul to secure him a fresh start.

This sequence of events paints a vivid picture of Ga-min's world, one where expectations and reality clash, forcing him to navigate a path carved by others' aspirations and his own desires. The students diligently endeavor to impart a favorable impression of their school upon Ga-min's mother, yet the lady remains unyielding. Desperate to gain more time for Han-gyeong's arrival and conversation with Ga-min's mom, the students' pleas fall on deaf ears. Alas, Ga-min's mother has already made her decision, immutable despite their entreaties. Just as Han-gyeong arrives in a taxi, Ga-min's mother departs. Han-gyeong, with unwavering determination, urges the children not to surrender and proceeds to borrow a car. Together, they embark on a high-octane automotive pursuit, racing against time to intercept Ga-min's mother.

However, their chase is abruptly halted by Ho-min and his cronies, who cut them off with their motorcycles, sparking a gridlock. A fresh confrontation erupts as Ji-woo and Lee-joon confront the bullies. Lee-joon decides to stay and engage while the others hastily rush to thwart Ga-min's mother from signing a lease for a Seoul residence.

Fortunately, they arrive in the nick of time. Han-gyeong reintroduces herself to Ga-min's mother, revealing a poignant connection: both knew a teacher who had passed away at Yusung Technical High School. Ga-min's mother, who had also been affected by this loss, encourages Han-gyeong to strive for justice.

Elsewhere, Min-hwan informs Pi Han Ui that Han-gyeong intends to convene a disciplinary committee to investigate him. Min-hwan subtly inquires whether he should handle the matter discreetly, as he had done previously, possibly hinting at Geon-yeob's mother and Han-gyeong's mentor.

The scene shifts to Mi-hwan's arrival at the café where the study group, Han-gyeong, and Ga-min's mother are in conversation. Despite their efforts, Ga-min's mother remains convinced that transferring her son to another school would be prudent. Min-hwan's interruption disrupts the meeting, igniting another altercation. This time, Ga-min's Mother intervened in the situation. She was not only the president of the Korean Taekwondo Association, but also an extraordinary fighter. However, when she stepped forward to protect Han Jing, she was unfortunately hit in the head by a beam and was injured, which was heartbreaking.

The following morning, Ga-min sets off for school, his mind consumed solely by the desire for revenge. He seeks out Pi Han-ui on his beloved rooftop, intending to launch a surprise attack. But three of Pi Han-ui's burly bodyguards intercept Ga-min's assault, and the scene takes on an intriguing twist.

Initially, Ga-min is overpowered as his emotions cloud his judgment. But once he regains his composure, he manages to overpower the three bodyguards and pushes forward to the school assembly. There, he confronts Pi Han-ui and delivers a powerful punch to his face, leaving everyone in attendance both horrified and mesmerized by the spectacle.

As the episode concludes, Ga-min turns to face Pi Han-ui, his expression a mix of defiance and introspection. Mentally, he grapples with whether he truly bears the sole responsibility for the events that have transpired.
