The scene then shifts to a poignant flashback, showing Han-gyeong sharing dinner with Jung-wa and later attending her funeral.

He enlists the help of Seong-wung to set the stage for his scheme.

Sure enough, two gang members arrive to collect Sun-chul, and Ga-min is powerless to intervene as they escort him away. In the rush, Sun-chul leaves behind his phone, which Ga-min picks up when Sun-chul's grandfather calls. Sensing an opportunity, Ga-min decides to spend some time with Sun-chul's grandfather, offering to help him prepare for an upcoming English test. The grandfather, a firm believer in the power of education and personal growth, eagerly accepts Ga-min's offer, hoping it will also extend a helping hand to Sun-chul.
The subsequent day, local airwaves buzzed with news of a murder, with Sun-chul emerging prominently as the chief suspect. Ga-min related every detail to the detective, withholding only the gang members' ominous warning to Sun-chul about a trying night ahead. As the day wore on, Ga-min and his companions pondered Sun-chul's capacity for such a heinous act.
The day after, Se-hyeon presented a chilling account of the alarming surge in minors involved in serious crimes, a trend that coincided with Pi Han Ui's emergence. He speculated that the gang was exploiting minors, promising them a future with the organization in exchange for taking the blame. Later that evening, Dae-chul approached Ga-min, pleading for assistance. As another gang member assaulted Dae-chul, Ga-min stepped in to intervene. In a moment of confession, Dae-chul revealed that he had witnessed Seong-wung cleaning the murder weapon.
The morning after saw Ga-min sharing this crucial information with the study group, who collectively resolved to aid Sun-chul. That night, Ga-min, Ji-woo, and Lee-joon stealthily infiltrated the gang's headquarters, while Se-hyeon and Hee-won remained outside as lookouts. Unfortunately, the group became separated; Ji-woo found himself searching for the knife in an office, Ga-min was forced to hide on the rooftop, and Lee-joon was left to engage a gang member in combat.
Downstairs, Pi Han Ui and his gang leaders initiated a meeting of backup fighters. Pi Han Ui proclaimed Sun-chul's official induction into the family, presenting him with a bag brimming with cash and urging others to emulate Sun-chul's dedication. Detective Na arrived to apprehend Sun-chul, but was stunned when the latter admitted his guilt in front of the entire gang.
Meanwhile, upstairs, Ji-woo succeeded in locating the murder weapon but was discovered by Seon-ho, a fellow gang member. On the rooftop, Ga-min struggled mightily against the locked door, desperate to rejoin his teammates.
