With a powerful blast, she manages to shatter a door, but her fleeting freedom is swiftly extinguished by the relentless guards. As the other captives gaze on with horrified expressions, a man calmly sips his tea, unfazed by the carnage. Jasmine Johnson, among the prisoners, begs desperately for a phone call, yet her pleas are drowned out by the indifference of those around her.
The scene shifts to South London, introducing our protagonists. Mike, a diligent delivery boy, is deeply in love with Dionne. Despite financial constraints after purchasing a home, he surprises her with a convertible and plans to propose. Andre, a call center employee, struggles to make ends meet, yet he sacrifices everything for his son, AJ. He buys him a new iPhone, but this gesture fails to impress his ex, Aisha. Tragically, Andre is dismissed from his job due to a failed DBS check.
Meanwhile, Tazer, the newly appointed leader of a gang after the incarceration of his predecessor, Krazy, faces challenges. His rival gang, the Sixers, led by the menacing Chucky, pick a fight with Tazer, resulting in a stabbing. As Tazer recovers, his friends visit to check on him. Still nursing his wounds, he vows not to indulge in partying until Chucky and his cronies are put out of action.
Elsewhere in a hospital room, Mike's mother, Tina, suffers from sickle cell disease, while he remains unaffected. Victoria from Health & Unity visits, confidently proclaiming that they possess the ideal facility to treat her condition.
Rounding out our cast is Rod, a fledgling drug dealer attempting to peddle weed to our heroes, but his efforts are met with little interest. He works alongside his friend, Spud, but their luck seems to be running dry.
The mystery surrounding Dionne's intentions remains unsolved, yet her relentless search for Jasmine, the abducted girl who has vanished into thin air, is relentless. Meanwhile, Tazer's anger boils over towards his mother, unaware that she is the very captive whose life was extinguished by the guards. Tazer's situation worsens as Chucky releases a scathing diss track, and his crew attempts to coerce Mike into paying a turf fee. Mike, however, refuses, leading to a violent confrontation where Tazer stabs him. As Mike's eyes shimmer with a golden hue, he is plunged into a timeline rewind, reliving the moment Tazer's crew approached him. This time, he employs a more conciliatory approach, and he escapes with a mere warning.
Elsewhere, Rod's car refuses to start, leaving him stranded as the bus departs without him. In a desperate dash to catch it, he finds himself in Edinburgh in a blink of an eye, his eyes emanating an ethereal glow.
As Sabrina anticipates her romantic rendezvous with Kevin, her excitement is shattered when he stands her up. Accompanied by Sharleen, she discovers him with another woman. Heartbroken, Sabrina attempts to walk away, but Kevin grabs her. At that moment, her eyes flare with an otherworldly light, telepathically repelling Kevin with a forceful push.
Andre, struggling to provide for AJ due to the company's unpaid wages, finds himself at a crossroads. With anger surging through him, his eyes ignite as he punches the ATM machine, shattering it and unleashing a cascade of money, all captured by a CCTV camera.
Throughout the night, Mike was left discombobulated by the surreal deja vu experience, yet Dionne's tender comfort and her infectious laughter brought him back to his senses. Emboldened, he pressed forward with his proposal, grateful for her unwavering support. Overjoyed, they celebrated in a moment of intimacy, but suddenly, Mike's eyes flared with an unnatural glow, and he vanished.
He materialized in a futuristic landscape, where Rod, Sabrina, Andre, Tazer, and a future version of Mike were engaged in a fierce battle against mysterious hooded figures. Future Mike's gaze fell upon him, and time seemed to halt. He ushered Present Mike to a serene graveyard, revealing that the tumultuous events unfolded merely three months after the proposal. With a grave tone, he imparted the knowledge that only Present Mike held the key to rectifying the present chaos.
The episode drew to a close as they halted before Dionne's grave, a stark reminder of her untimely demise on July 9th, 2024.
