As night descends, a sense of tranquility pervades the Townsend household. Cal and Ty forge an alliance, persuading Maddie to allow Ty to audition for a baseball team at a prestigious boarding school. Initially reluctant, Maddie eventually relents, consenting to a campus visit. She expresses her willingness to stand by Ty as he navigates this new chapter, confident in his maturity and understanding of the challenges posed by returning to baseball post-injury. Together with Cal, she believes in Ty's sound judgment and realistic assessment of his circumstances.

Maddie expresses her concern, wondering if his attachment to baseball stems from fear, urging him to take a little more time to uncover his true aspirations. The Sullivans, too, are thriving, with Dana Sue brimming with excitement over the foundation's proposal aimed at alleviating food insecurity in Serenity. As Helen returns home, she tells CeCe about her wonderful time away, though CeCe finds it somewhat hard to believe. He thanks her for their flawless date in Charleston the previous day and embarks on a romantic soliloquy, confessing his love but lamenting that he cannot remain in Serenity. He apologizes, acknowledging his inability to settle down. Helen is devastated, confiding that she is weary of giving her all only to see him leave time and again. She summarily ejects him, declaring an end to their relationship.
