The Alibi (Filipino) – Season 1 Episode 2 1

Meanwhile, Arthur's father presses him to resolve the police issue, warning that no one is indispensible within the Cabrera family, including his own children. Later, George stumbles upon Vincent in his office, seething with anger over the police's attempts to implicate him due to the fight video with Walter. George reassures him that all he needs to do is prove his alibi.

Vincent returns to the crime scene just as a detective arrives to investigate the CCTV footage. The footage from the day Claudia was at the resort for Arthur's party reveals that Walter was with them, feeding each other. As the detective explores the room, Vincent is forced to hide. The detective finds Claudia's wedding ring in the bathtub.

Elsewhere, the doctor delivers devastating news to Stella: Joseph has a hole in his heart and needs urgent surgery that will cost half a million pesos. Katherine is wracked with grief, fearing that history is repeating itself. A flashback shows us that Stella was arrested and convicted for drug possession, even though she constantly claimed the drugs were not hers. Katherine and Joseph were young, and they had an infant sister named Joy. While in lock-up, Katherine and Joseph visited Stella and told her that Joy was missing.

Presently, Stella rushes back to the bar, and her friend helps search through the garbage for Vincent's card. Detective Ricardo visits Vincent and Claudia's home to seek answers about the wedding ring found in the bathtub. Claudia tries to play it off as a mere friendship with Walter, but when pushed into a corner, she decides to show Vincent's blood-stained shirt to the detective. His partner calls with updates on the forensic reports, revealing that Vincent and Claudia's fingerprints are all over Walter's villa.

Vincent was summoned for questioning, accompanied by his legal counsel. The detectives attempted to leverage Claudia's connection with Walter to suggest that Vincent's jealousy led to Walter's murder. When pressed about the wedding ring, Vincent claimed ignorance of Claudia's visit to Walter's room.

At this moment, Stella walked in, providing a crucial alibi for Vincent. Earlier, Stella had mistakenly met Vincent at a hotel, believing he sought her services as an escort. However, instead of offering her services, Vincent handed her materials to memorize and collaborate on the story he had devised about his whereabouts on the night of Walter's murder.

Their narrative teetered on the brink of collapse when Ricardo presented further evidence regarding the stained shirt. However, the lead quickly faded as forensic reports revealed that the blood belonged to Vincent himself. Stella explained that the stains were from a love bite on his lips.

As Vincent escorted Stella out of the police station, she was panic-stricken. She had previously been incarcerated and knew that the police only saw what they wanted and did not listen to the suspects' side of the story. Vincent asked her to wait while he returned to speak with their lawyer.

Reporters waiting outside the police station spotted Stella as the woman accompanying Vincent and immediately surrounded her. Questions bombarded her, and in her agitation, she decided to declare herself as Vincent's girlfriend.

Vincent comes rushing to her rescue, his determination etched on his face as he drives away. However, his fury boils over when Stella confesses their supposed relationship, as he is a married man. Stella explains that she was desperate to avoid further humiliation by revealing herself as a prostitute, and that Vincent failed to mention his marital status or his child in the details he had asked her to memorize.

Stella walks away, her heart shattered by the tangled web she's been drawn into, and begs Vincent to deliver the money later that night at the bar.

At home, Claudia vents her frustration at Vincent for embarrassing her and being involved with a prostitute. Finally, Vincent reveals that he knows about her affair with Walter. Claudia dismisses it with a wave of her hand, claiming he's making things up and being paranoid due to jealousy.

Elsewhere, Jacqueline frets over Vincent after seeing the news of Stella claiming to be his girlfriend. She tries calling him, but he doesn't answer. As she hurries out of the office, Matthew runs into her, asking where they're going for their usual Friday date.

Jacqueline turns him down, saying she's worried about Vincent. Matthew tells her that she always prioritizes Vincent, the adopted child, over him and his brother, Edward. Despite this, Matthew chooses to go on the date alone, while Jacqueline continues to fret over Vincent.

That night, Mama Mona calls Stella from the club's changing room, informing her of a client. Stella heads to the private room and finds Jacqueline waiting for her, not seeking a dance but the truth about her relationship with Vincent.

Stella insists she's Vincent's mistress, but Jacqueline doesn't believe her. She claims that Vincent wouldn't frequent such places. Just then, Vincent arrives with the money and sees Jacqueline's driver outside. Inside, he defends Stella and tells his mother that he can take care of himself.

Later, Jacqueline confides in Arthur about the encounter and asks for his help with Vincent. Arthur sees him as a troublemaker who has always viewed them as evil. He believes the family needs to distance themselves from Vincent to give him a wake-up call. Back at the club, Vincent tells Stella not to reveal his family's involvement in paying her to be his alibi, as they would be the first to turn him in.

Stella uses the money to pay for Joseph's surgery, which goes smoothly. Katherine scolds Stella again, admitting that she feels guilty since Joseph was saved at the cost of someone else's family. Stella asks Katherine not to worry about her and to ensure the money is put to good use. She encourages Katherine to put more effort into school and graduate.

Later, as Vincent is out fishing, the detective catches up with him with fresh information. He asserts that a witness saw Vincent storm into Walter's room angrily on the night of the murder. The detective argues that this information discredits his alibi. However, Vincent counters that without concrete evidence, all claims are mere hearsay. Thus, he urges the detectives to focus their efforts on tracking down the real culprit rather than fixating on him.

At home, Claudia ultimately defies Arthur's previous attempt to keep her by asserting her desire to escape the same roof. In a huff, Vincent is forced to leave.

As he leaves, Vincent finds himself at Stella's bar just in time to intervene in a customer's harassment of Stella. He goes ballistic, punching the customer until he bleeds. Stella and her friends pull him away to break up the fight. Stella opens up to him about being the sole breadwinner for her family, and Vincent confesses his desire to escape his own cursed life, which led him to the bar. Stella jokes that the bar is no better, as everyone there leads a cursed existence.

Meanwhile, Arthur receives photos of Vincent and Stella's interactions outside the bar along with information about her family and her arrest. He insists that Stella cannot be a part of Vincent's life and they need to get rid of her. Jacquelin nods in agreement. The next day, a black van abducts Stella as she heads to work.

At the end of the episode, Vincent returns to his apartment and opens a safe containing money and a gun. He takes a memory card from the safe and loads its contents onto his computer. The video reveals Claudia and Walter having sex at their home.

A flashback takes us to the day of Walter's murder, showing how Vincent walked into the room seeking answers. Walter taunts him about losing his career, the Cabrera name, and even his wife to Walter. Vincent pulls out the gun, but Walter continues to mock him, saying he couldn't shoot because he was a coward. They struggle for the weapon, and Vincent ends up pointing it at Walter as he lies on the floor. The flashback ends with Vincent washing blood from his hands in the ocean water.
