The Art of Negotiation – K-drama Episode 10 1

Meanwhile, Soon-young bumps into his childhood friend, Bon Joo, but she darts away in a taxi before he can catch up. Determined to find her, he gathers his other friends and learns that Bon Joo's close companion, who works at the club, had been involved in a golf cart accident and is now recovering in the hospital. It transpires that Bon Joo might have utilized the embezzled money to reach a settlement with the client who had filed a lawsuit on behalf of her injured friend.

Later, Bon Joo bravery steps forward to confront the M&A team. With a trembling voice, she admits to using the money to help her friend and exposes the CEO for embezzling 1 million won, just as he was preparing to flee to the United States.

Joo-no confronts the CEO head-on, uncovering his clandestine scheme. The CEO had been surreptitiously managing a separate deposit account, funded by cash payments from caddies for their training. This undeclared cash stash constituted embezzlement, especially considering the caddies had no means of reclaiming their hard-earned money.

Bon Joo had procured consent forms from fellow caddies to access these funds, believing it was the only just course of action after the company refused to acknowledge responsibility for her friend's mishap. Ironically, when she attempted to withdraw the funds, she discovered the account was already barren—coinciding with the day the CEO had requested the exact same amount from Joo-no as severance pay.

The CEO is promptly reported and grilled by internal affairs. Thanks to Joo-no's intervention, Bon Joo is spared with a mere reprimand from the HR director, while the CEO faces the music for both the 1 million won embezzlement and the settlement amount.

Joo-no briefs the buyer, CEO Lee Hun-min, who decides to terminate the entire workforce. Through a heartfelt conversation with Dong-ju, it becomes clear that this entire ordeal was a test orchestrated by Jae-shik. He wanted to gauge whether Joo-no would compromise the welfare of employees in his quest for professional advancement.

More crucially, Jae-shik harbors ambitions to reventure into the construction sector, selecting Hun-min to spearhead the acquisition of land, dismiss the workforce, and embark on constructing apartments. Nevertheless, Joo-no issues a stark warning, cautioning that such a maneuver might infringe upon the law, given that Sanin is legally barred from resuming its operations in the construction industry. Meanwhile, the team uncovers deeper instances of misappropriation within the club's gaming division, albeit the CEO shoulders the bulk of the responsibility for the missing funds.

Driven by a steadfast determination to thwart Jae-shik's plans, Joo-no engages with the newly appointed proprietor of Sanin Construction, orchestrating a public confrontation involving her, Jae-shik, Director Ha, Hun-min, and their legal counsel. This strategic encounter effectively disheartens them from pursuing their intentions further. In response, Jae-shik commands Joo-no to scrap the sale deal but also blurts out that he is unqualified to serve as a board member.

That very night, an unidentified visitor pays Joo-no a visit, receiving instructions from him to proceed with a clandestine plan now that his bid for a board seat has been thwarted. The following day, another blow strikes Joo-no as he is suspended from his duties amidst an audit of the M&A office. Fresh accusations of insider trading are leveled against him, compounding his predicament.
