In the second episode of The Art of Sarah, the story unfolds as Byeong-kwan, the suspected assailant, confides his tale to rookie cop Jae-hyeon. Through vivid flashbacks, we witness Yeo-jin enlisting Byeong-kwan to terrorize Sarah into repaying her debts. He bullies Sarah, compelling her to pledge Boudoir bags as collateral until she secures the funds. When he and his accomplices are momentarily distracted, she swiftly drops the shutters and summons the police. She baitingly provokes Byeong-kwan into striking her, pleading for her life loudly. Leveraging CCTV footage and her bruises, she successfully sues him and secures his incarceration. However, in court, she introduces herself as Woo Hyo-eun, not Sarah Kim, revealing that it's the name of her former employee. Yeo-jin's alibi holds, as she was under surveillance since Byeong-kwan's case. Instead, the police suspect that Sarah conned another individual who subsequently killed her.

The Art of Sarah – K-drama Episode 2 1

Jae-hyeon discovers a post by @Cheongdam Goddess from five years ago, leaving a review that later bolstered Boudoir's reputation. Yet, Boudoir was only launched in South Korea last summer.

Subsequently, Jae-hyeon forges a friendship with Hyo-eun, who manages a department store's loyalty program. As they wait outside a store all night in line, he gains her trust by claiming to be a Boudoir enthusiast. She immediately opens up and shares her story.

Flashbacks reveal that Hyo-eun worked at the store where Sarah purchased Birkin bags. Gradually, Sarah won Hyo-eun over with her attention and kindness, poaching her to join Boudoir. Hyo-eun became privy to Sarah's secrets, such as her secret relationship with Chairman Choi and "saving" her. This led Choi to become a VIP client. Hyo-eun brought all her past VIP clients to Boudoir, expelling less affluent clients and ensuring the brand's exclusivity. However, she never received any commission.

One night, while shopping for a fake bag, Hyo-eun stumbled upon unreleased Boudoir designs. She reported it to Sarah, who didn't bat an eyelid. Another time, she was mocked by a scornful Hyo-eun with low-class remarks. This made Hyo-eun question Sarah's true persona. Presently, Hyo-eun finally learns that Jae-hyeon is a cop.

As for Mu-gyeong, he traverses Sarah's circle of influence. Shin So-ui, an actress, is one of Sarah's investments in the film industry. He questions So-ui, who is devastated to learn of Sarah's demise and suspects Hyo-eun. Rumors abound that Hyo-eun had betrayed Sarah, who then blacklisted her. Hyo-eun's anguish manifests in a chaotic scene at the launch party, accompanied by Yang Da-hye, the woman who discovered Sarah's lifeless body.

Confused and seeking answers, Mu-gyeong reunites with Jae-hyeon to interrogate Da-hye and Hyo-eun together. A flashback reveals Da-hye and Hyo-eun playing pretend with Boudoir bags. Sarah catches them and fires Hyo-eun for her crude behavior. Later, Hyo-eun learns that Sarah has blacklisted her, pretending to protect her from being sued for selling client information. Da-hye also recognizes Sarah's face and is subsequently fired from her company.

At present, they hand over all the evidence they've gathered to the police. Hyo-eun adds that Sarah used to personally burn leftover stock from previous seasons and cried. Her dedication to her brand is why people fell for her lies.

Next, a search warrant is issued for the Boudoir store, but it's devoid of any personal items. All Mu-gyeong finds is the tie he gave Sarah. He revisits the sewer alone as Jae-hyeon is too scared. Right then, Jae-hyeon learns that @Cheongdam Goddess's real name is Mok Ga-hui. Da-hye too remembers Sarah from five years ago at a family sale. She went by the name Mok Ga-hui.

The episode ends with Sarah in a sales associate uniform, with the name tag - Mok Ga-hui, leaving a lingering mystery as to her true identity and motives.
