In the seventh episode of The Art of Sarah, the plot thickens as Mu-gyeong discovers that the prosecutor assigned to the case is Sarah's client. This revelation means that they won't be able to obtain a warrant, which Sarah likely knew all along. Instead, the police find a taxi receipt linking the victim from the launch party to the Boudoir workshop. They also learn that 10 days ago, an immigration raid took place, and Mu-gyeong notices that a neighboring leather maker has callouses, just like Jane Doe. This suggests that she was a worker, but no one can verify it since her co-workers have coincidentally been reported.

The Art of Sarah – K-drama Episode 7 1

During the interrogation, Mu-gyeong confronts Sarah with his theory - that the impostor found out Sarah's fake alias and started using her identity, knowing that Sarah wouldn't be able to report her. The impostor planned to kill Sarah and take her place, but Sarah killed her instead. These accusations rattle Sarah, but she tries to remain calm. However, her composure breaks when Mu-gyeong reveals his plan to expose Boudoir as a scam and leak Woo Hyo-eun's dirty secrets about the clientele, which would lead to everyone abandoning Sarah.

The episode then takes a flashback to Boudoir's origin story. Sarah visits a workshop that used to make good knock-offs, where she finds the fake red Birkin that looks exactly like Choi's bag. It's made by Kim Mi-jeong, who instantly recognizes that everything on Sarah is real. Together, Mi-jeong and Sarah use their knowledge to collect raw materials, striving to be as close to high-quality materials as possible.

Mi-jeong isn't good at reading people, and Sarah finds her endearing. As for Mi-jeong, she is envious of Sarah's ambition. She ran away as a kid and has only known how to make fake bags since then. Sarah poaches the entire workshop for Boudoir and has them create the designs she comes up with. She is kind to the workers but becomes true friends with Mi-jeong. One day, when she's too busy, she sends Mi-jeong for her fitting at Morphe, the brand that made the launch party dress. Mi-jeong feels rich and pretty when the designer fawns over her and dresses her up.

The scene is vividly described with rich details and emotional depth, painting a clear picture of the characters' motivations and emotions throughout the episode.

Mi-jeong, an unregistered individual, found herself in a predicament when she lacked the means to live independently. Sarah, an acquaintance, stepped in to help by buying her a phone under her own name, teaching her, and even offering to lend her name in case of medical emergencies. However, this act of kindness would soon take a sinister turn.

For six months, Mi-jeong had been using Sarah's credit card for extravagant shopping sprees, undetected. Sarah, blinded by trust and kindness, chose to ignore the truth.

One fateful day, Byeong-kwan kidnapped Sarah, and Mi-jeong found herself practicing Sarah's speech patterns. When Sarah sought solace from Mi-jeong, the latter tried to cheer her up by mimicking her voice. Sarah noticed the similarity but was deflected by Mi-jeong's excuse. She also commented on Mi-jeong's diamond earrings, joking that they were a good fake. This hurtful remark stung Mi-jeong, who felt that she was being dismissed as an outsider.

Over the weeks, Mi-jeong became increasingly absorbed in impersonating Sarah. She even got the same foot tattoo and started partying under the name of Sarah Kim. However, when Sarah accidentally revealed to her bank that she hadn't been making these purchases, Mi-jeong was arrested. To everyone's surprise, Sarah refused to press charges, and Mi-jeong realized that she was also unregistered like her.

Mi-jeong's resentment boiled over when she saw So-ui using Sarah's bag. She went to the Boudoir store and was shocked by the exorbitant prices and the praise for her craftsmanship. When she returned home, Sarah confronted her about the deception. Mi-jeong believed that Sarah owed her everything and refused to stop impersonating her. Enraged, Sarah fired her.

In retaliation, Mi-jeong contacted Ji-hwon and revealed that Boudoir was a fake, deporting all the workers and stealing all the materials from the workshop. She wiped away her fingerprints to confuse anyone who might try to identify them. She then appeared at a launch party wearing a second dress from Morphe.

At this point, Sarah confessed that she had killed Jane Doe but added that she was actually Mi-jeong and that the dead body was Sarah's.
