The second episode of The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek Season 2 begins with the stalker targeting Andreas. Andreas is convinced that the stalker is his ex-wife, Sofie, who is upset that he left her and their sick child, Lukas, to start a new life with Annika and their twins. As Mark's role in the search for Zara comes to an end, he is by Jon's bedside, hoping he will wake up from his coma. The media criticizes the police for not finding Zara's killer, and Mark offers his services to Naia. However, she refuses, causing Mark to feel jealous that she is working with Skovbjerg. Despite Skovbjerg's amateurishness, she gives in and convinces Esra to have Mark lead the task force.

The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek – Season 2 Episode 2 1

At the Holst household, Molly is going through her rebellious teenage phase. Thor skips school and resents Marie's obsession with Emma's murder. Michael and the bank are pushing Marie to sell the house, which would mean clearing Emma's bedroom. The media reports that Emma and Zara's cases may be linked, giving Marie hope.

With another countdown rhyme, the stalker emails everyone in Andreas' office a NSFW photoshopped picture of him and calls him out for sleeping around. Andreas rants to his boss, Carsten, that he has reported it to the police but they don't care. Having had enough, he hides in Annika's summer house.

Mark is debriefed and analyzes that Emma's murder was a fit of rage, while Zara's was staged. He has Sandra go through every stalking report in the last two years. Esra orders them not to confirm the link between Zara and Emma out of fear of a lawsuit.

Next, Mark and Naia question Marie. Emma was outgoing and wasn't bothered by the stalking. Marie thought it was Emma's ex, Omar. Thor comes across them and is upset that everything is constantly about Emma. Marie begs for answers, and a sympathetic Mark confirms that Emma and Zara's cases are linked.

Alone, Naia confronts Mark for his lack of seriousness towards his responsibilities, their breakup looming as she refuses to hear any explanation. Confused by his sudden return to town, they're interrupted by Sandra, who shares Andreas' grievances. Thor, overcome by a shrine dedicated to Emma at school, cries in his dad's embrace. During Molly's football match, Michael urges Marie to let go and let everyone live their lives. Finding it difficult, she even misses Molly's goal while watching Omar.

On the way to Andreas' office, the hotel receptionist complains about Jon's pet canary's incessant chirping and need for companionship. Meanwhile, the cops learn of the summer house. At the summer house, the countdown ends, and the stalker abducts Andreas, with the cops arriving too late. As they strategize their next move, Bjorn asks Naia out, sparking Mark's jealousy once again.

After the match, Marie sends the kids to Michael's and questions Omar about Emma's possible affair with a married man. She goes through her laptop. The cops then question Sofie, who claims that Andreas is a sex addict after leaving her for Annika after becoming successful. To ensure Lukas doesn't hear this, Mark takes the kid to show him his room.

As expected, Andreas is held captive in the opposite building with the window overlooking Lukas' room. This time, Mark sees him struggling and rushes in, but the stalker slits Andreas' neck and escapes. Shaken, Mark finally tells Naia about Jon and his fears. Sympathetic, she finds herself conflicted when he kisses her.

That night, the stalker sends Naia a video of her looking for him. She calls Mark, who rushes over. The stalker sends another text, inviting her to play hide and seek. The tension and suspense are palpable as the story unfolds, painting a vivid picture of the characters' emotions and motivations.
