Patti's disapproving scowl at the mention of Craig's time with Elaine further fuels the intrigue. His solemn demeanor only amplifies Craig's discomfort.

The Consultant – Season 1 Episode 3 1

Over drinks, Craig broaches the subject of his impending nuptials with Patti, a union that necessitates his conversion to Catholicism. Just as the conversation turns somber, Regus's eyes light up at the sight of a group of unsavory characters entering the pub. Craig seeks an exit, but Regus insists on staying the course, promising a favor in return.

Meanwhile, Elaine, primping for her own rendezvous, stumbles upon a key to the forbidden records room. Unable to resist the temptation, she sneaks in.

Regus leads Craig to an exclusive venue, where a strict dress code reigns supreme. There, Craig encounters Milani, a woman whose connection to Regus seems both mysterious and strained. Amidst strange occurrences, like Milani adorned with seemingly Russian robotic components, Craig calls Elaine, warning her of his disconcerting surroundings. Elaine, concerned for his safety, urges caution.

As Elaine surreptitiously explores the store room, Craig returns to find Milani engaged with another patron. His queries about Sang elicit a cryptic request for assistance from Regus, involving the delivery of a violently挣扎bound figure wrapped in a bedsheet. Craig's panic escalates as Regus navigates the streets, the weight of their clandestine mission heavy on his mind.

As they approached the bridge, Craig and Regus engaged in a tense conversation about the occupant of the backseat. Regus revealed it to be Tokyo, the youngster who had taken Sang's life. Urgently, he suggested they pull over to ascertain if Tokyo was still breathing. In doing so, Regus partially laid blame on Craig for their predicament, labeling him ineffective amidst pressure's crucible.

Their discourse delved into Sang's tragic demise, among other weighty matters. Regus emphasized the need for retribution, viewing their mission as a poignant act of vengeance for Sang. Attempting to steady Craig's frayed nerves, he coached him in the art of mindful breathing.

However, fate intervened with a dwindling gas meter, prompting Regus to halt for a refill. Meanwhile, Elaine secluded herself in a room, her gaze fixed on her dossier, as Regus's exhaustive knowledge of her life, down to her childhood, sent shivers through her spine. Panic-stricken, she reached for a cigarette, unaware of the telltale lipstick-stained stub she would inadvertently leave behind.

While Regus attended to the gas and relieved himself, Craig seized the opportunity to liberate the supposed Tokyo. Beneath the veil of darkness, he discovered the truth—it was Milani, a former Moscow drug addict who had fled her rehabilitation center for the allure of Los Angeles. Regus's true intention was to repatriate her and resume her treatment, revealing that the entire ordeal was a test of Craig's mettle.

Left to his own devices on the desolate road, Craig's bond with Regus lay irreparably shattered. Upon returning to the office, the consultant, unknowingly, stumbled upon Elaine's forgotten cigarette, its lipstick-tinged filter a silent confession of her hidden agony.

Craig, driven by a sense of unease, ventured back to the 10th floor in search of his belongings. Finding them amidst the stillness, he peeked behind the entrance door, only to confront an eerie emptiness of cubicles, a stark contrast to the festive revelry of the previous night. The party was over, leaving only echoes of deceit and betrayal in its wake.
