Transitioning to data collection, Jeon-man's gaming obsession takes precedence over their research, leading him to whisk Na-rae away to an internet cafe instead. On the other hand, Ki-jun and Han-deul devise a plan for focus group interviews, but Ki-jun diverts their path with an unexpected lunch invitation. Their journey takes a tumultuous turn when they compete for the last parking spot, against none other than Han-deul's ex. Ki-jun emerges victorious after a round of rock-paper-scissors, and their lunch concludes with a visit to a temple café, where they are joined by a female monk—revealed to be Ki-jun's ex-wife from a previous marriage. Realizing Han-deul might conduct a more sensitive interview, Ki-jun hastily exits with an excuse.

Han-deul's curiosity piqued about their divorce, the monk shares her story of spiritual aspirations clashing with familial expectations. Ki-jun had understood her yearnings, leading to an amicable separation that allowed her to pursue her true calling. Her gentle wisdom provides solace to Han-deul, who feels embarrassed about his own divorce experiences.

In the meantime, Ah-yeong endeavors to purchase a sologamy wedding kit, yet her intentions are swiftly pierced by the seller's perceptive gaze. The seller flatly refuses, asserting that sologamy is not a remedy for Ah-yeong's wedding fund woes. Meanwhile, Na-rae and Jeon-man exhibit a harmonious bond, adopting a clinical demeanor towards life's happenings. As Na-rae drifts into a peaceful slumber, they share a drink, prompting Jeon-man to ponder why their paths hadn't crossed sooner. Na-rae responds by recounting her swift divorce from Ki-jun after just three months, quoting his words as the reason behind their separation.

Back at the serene temple, Han-deul and Ki-jun opt to stay for a starlit observation session. Ki-jun shares with Han-deul the poem 'The Funeral of Words,' which delves into the concept of word insurance. He reveals that he joined the product development team because he was intrigued by this idea, leading Han-deul to inquire if he had ever been wounded by words. The narrative shifts to Na-rae, who claims that their marriage to Ki-jun ended with words alone, as they hadn't even officially registered their union. She acknowledges the profound hurt words can inflict and expresses her desire for word insurance.

As the two couples individually immerse themselves in reverie, they contemplate the unique insurance policies they would cherish. Han-deul dreams of pride insurance to safeguard her self-esteem, while Jeon-man suggests space travel insurance, evoking the fate of Laika, the canine astronaut. Beneath the twinkling stars, each couple experiences a poignant moment, despite being in separate locations.

One fortuitous day, Na-rae encounters Han-deul and tags along to a knitting workshop. Na-rae selects green thread, Ki-jun's favored hue, while Han-deul crafts something special for herself. Their conversation drifts to regrets, culminating in Na-rae's confession that she still harbors feelings for Ki-jun, albeit without any remorse for their divorce.

The policy is nearly finalized as the team meticulously refines its clauses, each word meticulously crafted. Amidst the excitement of the pending pitch, the core objective remains crystal clear: to diminish divorce rates, prompting them to devise innovative solutions, such as couple bonding services. To mark this significant milestone, they gather for a jubilant team dinner at a lively bowling alley. Han-deul, unfamiliar with the nuances of bowling, finds herself in need of a tutor, which role Ki-jun eagerly adopts. Na-rae, unable to contain her envy, insists that Ki-jun also coach her. Soon, the friendly rivalry ignites, with Na-rae, Dae-bok, and Jeon-man squaring off against Ki-jun, Han-deul, and Ah-yeong. Na-rae's frustration mounts each time Ki-jun and Han-deul celebrate their victories together.

The evening transitions to karaoke, where libations flow freely and chaos ensues. Songs are swapped haphazardly, interspersed with playful debates. As the night draws to a close, Na-rae offers Jeon-man a ride home, hoping to ignite a twinge of jealousy in Ki-jun. Unbeknownst to her, Ki-jun has already arranged a cab with his neighbor, Han-deul. As they bid farewell, they impart some parting wisdom to Dae-bok, reminding him that it's World Marriage Day and suggesting he gift his wife something special. Unfortunately for him, he mishears the occasion as Marinated Tofu Day and presents her with tofu. Needless to say, she is less than thrilled and storms off in a huff.

Turning back to the policy, the board grants approval but attaches a stringent condition: thirty policies must be sold within three days, and the divorce rate among the insured couples must remain at zero within six months. The scene shifts to a meeting between Na-rae and the CEO, where he boasts about her pioneering the first-ever divorce insurance, eliciting a proud smile from her.

Meanwhile, the team grapples with the daunting conditions. Ki-jun strikes upon the ingenious idea of targeting couples at a wedding fair, capitalizing on pre-wedding jitters. The scene at the fair is a whirlwind of activity until a young woman approaches them, intrigued by their offer. She signs up promptly, followed by the mother of a bride seeking consultation. Soon after, the mother of the groom joins them. In a surprising twist at the conclusion of "The Divorce Insurance" Episode 2, the two women are left astounded to discover they are in-laws!
