Episode 6 of Season 2 of "The Fiery Priest" kicks off with an exhilarating scene where Gu, Hae-il, and Ja-yeong expertly dismantle a gang of thugs at the ball boys' clandestine lair. Capelin manages to slip through their grasp, but not without the Gudam crew seizing a stash of drugs valued at a staggering 15 billion. Meanwhile, Officer Jin-su faces a wall of indifference when he attempts to report the ship-bound thugs to Chae Do-u. Instead of lending an ear, Dean Lee orchestrates a disciplinary hearing aimed at expelling Jin-su from the force. In a desperate bid, Chae turns to Hae-il, requesting him to check on Mrs. Song. Their worlds turn upside down when Hae-il discovers her lifeless body, a harrowing sight for both.

The Fiery Priest – K-drama Season 2 Episode 6 1

During dinner, Hong-sik's affection for Kyung-sun is palpable, his eyes softening as he bluntly inquiries about her marital status. However, Kyung-sun, uninterested, diplomatically declines his advances. After her departure, Du-heon and Hong-sik are briefed about Hae-il's raid and Captain Lee's public disgrace. Du-heon harbors a grudge against Hae-il, but Hong-sik, entertained by the priest's unpredictable antics, insists on keeping him close. The loss of drugs doesn't phase him; he merely instructs the thugs to resume their packing duties.

As for Mrs. Song's untimely demise, Du-heon instructs Jin-su to quietly sweep it under the rug, leading the Uma police to decline an autopsy. Hae-il's frustration boils over as he notes Mrs. Song's foam-flecked mouth, chemical odor, and suspicious powder under her nails. Refusing to accept defeat, he storms towards the ship.

Concurrently, Chief Prosecutor Park plants a bug in Du-heon's car and dispatches a Seoul Task Force to raid the ship. Unfortunately, they find nothing except some confusing herbal ingredients, which makes Hae-il peep on the sidelines twice. Feeling confused.

Hong-sik observed silently, eventually disclosing to Du-heon their subterfuge: a gas released to confuse the sniffer dogs' keen noses. The task force, satisfied with their discovery of the decoy, abandoned further searches, unwittingly overlooking the "restricted area" where the genuine contraband lay hidden. Meanwhile, Ja-yeong was in the midst of bonding with Songsak and Yo-han, only to be interrupted by Hae-il bearing grim tidings. They subjected the powder confiscated from the ball boys to tests, confirming Hae-il's ominous suspicions – it was indeed the identical medicinal powder.

Desperate and at their wits' end, they resolved to stake out the suspicious ship. Nonetheless, Hae-il's urgency was diverted when he learned of the police's intention to hastily cremate Mrs. Song's remains. In a dramatic protest, he was electrocuted and incarcerated alongside Chae, while a masked woman looked on with silent intent.

Kyung-sun, haunted by the strange woman who had been shadowing her in her room, found herself unable to rest. Du-heon assigned her a high-stakes mission: to catch VP Park's son in the act of drug abuse at a club, using him as leverage against the VP. She suggested using the son as bait to manipulate the VP, a strategy that impressed Du-heon, who revealed how he similarly controlled numerous officials.

The following morning, Dean Lee was forced to once again intervene to secure the release of the priests. Enraged, he watched as Chae and Hae-il dashed to the crematorium, arriving too late to prevent the ceremony. Hae-il's disappointment was palpable. The funeral rites proceeded, while both the masked woman and Laotian thugs kept Hae-il under observation.

Hong-sik, who received detailed reports of these events, admired Hae-il's relentless spirit. Distracted by an advertisement for a meteor shower, he invited Kyung-sun to join him in watching the celestial spectacle. As always, she declined, deflecting his gesture with her usual reserve.

As Chae trudges toward his disciplinary hearing, his spirits are thoroughly dampened. In a noble gesture, Hae-il steps forward to bear the penalty on Chae's behalf, only to discover that Dean Lee's intended punishment was merely a one-semester suspension. Undeterred, Hae-il devises a pact to shield Chae further – a month of unwavering temperance on Chae's part.

Elsewhere, Father Han and Sister Kim engage in a heated debate as the musical's progress falters. Just then, Ma-ri unexpectedly arrives for the audition, casting a spark of unpredictability into the mix. Not long after, Hong-sik drops by with a proposition to hold a benefit concert at the church, stipulating that Hae-il must participate, a revelation that puzzles Han and Kim. Their confusion deepens as a masked woman joins the musical fray.

Meanwhile, our stakeout team has dwindled to a mere duo – Ja-yeong and Gu, who notice an intriguing lizard tattoo adorning the Laotian thugs. Hae-il and Kyung-sun convene once more, exchanging updates and pondering over the identity of the individual who authorized the Seoul Task Force. Kyung-sun confides in Hae-il about Hong-sik's secret infatuation with her, to which Hae-il teases her gently, unaware of her disinterest.

Turning their focus to the enigmatic ship, they deduce that befriending the thugs is the sole avenue for entry. Hae-il, ever the strategist, hatches a plan. Recalling a wanted poster at the police station, he spots a criminal who is the spitting image of Detective Gu, save for a red birthmark on his cheek. The criminal's entourage – two accomplices resembling Songsak and Yo-han, and a girlfriend – completes the picture. Thus, Operation Doppelganger is set into motion, with Gu enduring a mock beating until his cheek blossoms into a crimson hue, mimicking the birthmark. Joined by Songsak, Yo-han, and Ja-yeong, they embark on a perilous journey to the ship.

That fateful night, as Hae-il felt a sudden wave of dizziness sweeping over him, causing him to collapse, he turned to God in fervent prayer, seeking divine intervention. Meanwhile, a tragic turn of events unfolded as Chief Prosecutor Park met his untimely demise. Elsewhere, Kyung-sun was terrified into unconsciousness upon encountering a ghostly apparition. As The Fiery Priest Season 2 Episode 6 drew to a close, Hae-il awoke to a shocking sight: the statue of the Blessed Mother Mary burning fiercely in the courtyard. Hong-sik, observing the scene through the CCTV monitor, wore a sinister smile, while Hae-il's fury burned within him like the flame consuming the statue.
