Elsewhere, Danny (Colman Domingo) extols the virtues of the room Anne (Kerri Kenney) inadvertently claimed, brushing off her concerns with a wave of his hand, assuring her it was merely a minor squabble. Anne, unaware of Lila's intense confrontation with her girlfriend, wonders aloud. Danny excuses himself to find a gesture of reconciliation. Upon his return, however, he discovers Claude missing.

Nick (Steve Carell), crossing paths with Anne accompanied by Lila (Julia Lester), acknowledges the tension Ginny's (Erika Henningsen) presence has brought. Lila remains unappeased, prompting Nick to gently remind her of the night's boundaries. Lila counters that Ginny embodies Nick's destruction of their family, escalating the argument until Anne, slapping the table, demands an end to the bickering. Eager to enjoy her long-awaited Ultimate Frisbee weekend, she heralds a playful afternoon ahead.

The game ensues, culminating in an unexpected collision as Ginny's Frisbee smacks Lila in the face, followed by an unexpected embrace that seems to bridge the divide. Post-game, Lila reveals plans for tapas with Nick and Ginny, leaving Anne behind. Danny, locating Claude (Marco Calvani), expresses relief at his arrival, only to face Claude's gripes about being abandoned for three months while Danny indulged in Texas. Claude suspects Danny orchestrated the parents' weekend as an evasion tactic, prompting Danny to question Claude's intentions. Claude, in turn, poses the ultimate query: does Danny seek a genuine partnership or solitude?

Returning to their room, Kate prepares for an intimate evening with Jack, only to find him grumbling about his hip. Off to fetch ice, Jack encounters Danny, who has also sustained an ankle injury. Ginny, swiftly fetching ice for Nick, dashes away. Jack returns, longing for a semblance of care from Kate, who retaliates by critiquing his demeanor, suggesting jealousy towards Nick. Jack counters that Kate yearns for a life reboot, excluding him from her social circle. Kate storms out.

Nick expresses a desire for an undistracted evening with Lila, while Kate drags Danny to a bar. Danny's phone alerts him to Claude's static presence at the Main Street clock for hours. He muses that Claude dwells in his own whimsical world. Ginny, stumbling upon Claude's solitary vigil, offers companionship. She admits feeling superfluous since Nick is dining with Lila, a sentiment Claude echoes. Ginny reveals her planned scooter tour, to which Claude readily agrees to join.

Concurrently, Nick and Lila discuss her academic pursuits, leading Lila to inquire about his past feelings for her mother. He admits to an enduring love, which Lila interprets as a midlife crisis. Kate vents to Danny, preoccupied with tracking Claude, as the narrative weaves a tapestry of interconnected lives and unresolved emotions.

Kate firmly believes that he's embarked on a scooter adventure, while Lila inquiries of Nick if he ever spared a thought for her during his decision-making process. Nick reasons that it wouldn't have seemed such a monumental issue if he had only waited till she was nestled in the warmth of college life. He then shares an anecdote about a time when he attempted to mediate a fierce argument between his parents, ending up with his father taking a swing at him. To his astonishment, he later found them holding hands, watching TV in harmony. This moment was an eye-opener for Nick; it dawned on him that they were merely humans after all. With a heartfelt declaration, Nick assures Lila of his undying love, giving her the liberty to stay angry as long as she pleases.

Anne spots Jack sitting solitary and invites him to join her company. Together, they indulge in a drink, creating a bond over shared vulnerabilities. Jack unburdens himself to Anne about Kate's disdainful treatment, expressing disbelief that he deserved such contempt. He believes Kate has had an even tougher weekend than he has. Anne, who observes a general amity among everyone, reassures Jack of his inherent goodness.

Danny informs Kate that Claude's location dot has vanished, prompting Kate to speculate that he might have deliberately switched it off to worry Danny. Danny, now upset, requests her to stay out of his marital affairs. Jack seeks Kate's forgiveness upon her return to their room, confessing his kiss with Anne. Kate, bursting into laughter, exits the room abruptly. Danny learns about an accident on the scooter tour and locates Claude, who explains that Sheila swerved to avoid a squirrel, causing a chain reaction that knocked over others. Danny, overwhelmed with emotion, declares himself as an old man with a frail heart. Claude, comforting him, suggests they face life's challenges together. Danny apologizes for his earlier abandonment, and Claude responds by suggesting they embark on life's adventures together from now on.

Kate confronts Anne, who apologizes profusely, expressing her belief that she has hit rock bottom. Anne reveals that Lila described herself as broken, acknowledging that they are all enduring their respective struggles. Anne admits that the journey has been incredibly challenging and finds it increasingly tempting to exclude herself from the group dynamics. Kate inquiries how Anne knows things are returning to normalcy. Anne responds by stating that her situation isn't comparable to her and Nick's, acknowledging that Nick cheated on her in the past. Anne, however, does not perceive Jack as the type to betray trust.

As the group prepares to depart, Nick tells Anne that he believes Lila is apologizing to Ginny, an idea originated by Lila herself. He complements Anne on being a wonderful mother. Anne takes the first leave, followed by Claude and Danny together. In the car, Jack and Kate discuss the potential of listening to a podcast and both agree that therapy might be a necessary step for them.
