Yet, amidst the turmoil, Gi-ho nurtures a secret obsession—Hyang-cheol himself has become his obsession, fueling a vengeful drive. Armed with a rifle, he hones his aim amidst the bustle of Jung-do's shopping center, revealing a bond forged in shared purpose: to hold Hyang-cheol accountable.

Time passes, yet Gi-ho remains ensnared in the past's grip, his life a stagnant existence within his aunt's dilapidated home. Upon his return from a somber hospital visit, he encounters Yeong-ha, a chance encounter that ignites a fiery confrontation. Gi-ho's fist connects with Yeong-ha's jaw, a gun barrel coldly trained on him, until Yeong-ha's pleas for understanding still the storm.

Meanwhile, Yeong-ha awakens in a hospital bed, his mind racing with fears that his rental property, threatened by the specter of another murder involving Si-hyeon, could become a cursed echo of Lake View. Determined to weigh the consequences, he ventures to Lake View, intent on gauging the worth of a deal that would see Sung-a take ownership, absolving him of all entanglements.

Bo-min's desperate attempts to reach Yeong-ha, met with silence, only deepen her anxiety. Sung-a, meanwhile, spurns caution, her mud-splattered sports car roaring away as she pursues her own course. Bo-min arrives on the scene, her eyes scanning every corner, seeking answers amidst the mystery that engulfs them all.

As for Yeong-ha, he finds himself at the very real estate agency where Sang-jun had conducted his transactions years prior, emphatically stating his intention to remain put, not relinquishing his property. As the threads of the past intertwine with the present, Yeong-ha visits Sang-jun, now residing in a nursing home, his mind slipping away. Convinced he's still tending to the Motel, Yeong-ha lends a helping hand, unwittingly unlocking the doors to Sang-jun's troubled soul.

Sang-jun yearns for Gi-ho's call, yet the boy resides with his aunt, the number lost in the ether. Instead, he broaches the shadowy incident involving Hyang-cheol, cautioning Yeong-ha against trust and emphasizing the need for vigilance, his words tinged with a vengeful undertone—even suggesting Gi-ho's hand in Hyang-cheol's demise.

It transpires that Yeong-ha has been keeping tabs on Gi-ho, leading us to the pivotal moment where he finds himself bound and captive in Gi-ho's abode. Mistaking Yeong-ha for law enforcement due to the missed calls, Gi-ho's focus wavers as a call from his uncle interrupts, urging him to leave his mark. The enigmatic graffiti and subsequent sprint to the hospital suddenly fit into the puzzle.

At the hospital, Gi-ho intends to execute Hyang-cheol in cold blood, as he arrives to see his mother on her deathbed. Unbeknownst to Yeong-ha, struggling to free himself, the woman lying there is none other than Hyang-cheol's own mother. Hyang-cheol senses the impending danger, diving to the floor just as Gi-ho's bullet whizzes past.

Seizing the moment, Hyang-cheol retaliates, dispatching one of the hospital guards before Jong-du intervenes in a chaotic melee. Amidst the fray, Gi-ho arrives, rifle in hand, declaring himself a ghost before pulling the trigger, ending Hyang-cheol's life. Recognition flickers in Hyang-cheol's eyes as he expires, and with his mission accomplished, Gi-ho leaps from the window, crashing to the ground below.

Escaping the chaos, Gi-ho returns home to find Yeong-ha awaiting him, a gun aimed steadily. But it's a mere airsoft pistol, a hollow threat. Declaring the game over, Gi-ho refuses to surrender, shooing Yeong-ha away.

However, Yeong-ha, recognizing the folly of letting Gi-ho go unchecked, returns in the nick of time, preventing him from taking his own life. He seizes the rifle, demanding answers for Gi-ho's suicidal intentions, the air thick with tension and unspoken truths.

Gi-ho, a young soul burdened with turmoil, finds himself adrift in a sea of despair after the haunting aftermath of PTSD, intertwined with Hyang-cheol's shadow, and the devastating sight of his mother's suicide. Yet, amidst this solitude, Yeong-ha reaches out, bridging the gap to Sang-jun over the speakerphone, offering solace and a promise of aid once the chaos subsides. Until then, he urges Gi-ho to cling to resilience.

The earlier scene, now illuminated by this context, reveals the profound significance of Gi-ho's arrival to confront Hyang-cheol and the enigmatic hat he wore. Hyang-cheol's gift—an address leading to a ghostwriter already departed—left Gi-ho sequestered in a motel room, immersing himself in the memoir's words. The emotions that arose were not ones of fury but a strange, unsettling sensation; Hyang-cheol had found peace, while Gi-ho remained anchored in the past's grip.

Together, Yeong-ha and Gi-ho embark on a symbolic act of letting go, consigning the letters to flames, striving to turn the page on their shared trauma. Yeong-ha, determined to shield Gi-ho, concocts an alibi, ridding the scene of incriminating traces and planting the tale of an impromptu drinking session to explain away Gi-ho's absence from the law's reach. A tale spun from empty cans in the sink, a ruse to fend off the jaws of justice.

Yet, as the episode draws to a cliffhanger, a lingering doubt lingers—the watchful eyes of hospital cameras, potentially capturing Gi-ho's arrival armed. Amidst these shadows, Yeong-ha, gun in hand, prepares to depart, his exit hastened by Sung-a's urgent call. Their encounter on her car's hood, Sung-a's neck marred by blood, paints a dire picture, leaving us to speculate on the ominous turn of events. It is a moment fraught with uncertainty, hinting at a storm yet to unleash its fury.
