The Girlfriend – Season 1 Episode 2 1

Upon her arrival, Daniel greets her at the airport with an infectious enthusiasm, eager to unveil all the grand plans he has meticulously crafted for their Spanish escapade. He dreams of showing her the sights, weaving memories with his family, and cherishing every moment together. But Cherry's nerves are frayed, and her irritation peaks when she realizes that Isabella and Brigette are also part of the gathering. The revelation that Brigette and Daniel once shared a romantic past only adds fuel to her simmering discomfort. Moreover, she struggles to forge a connection with Laura, further isolating her.

Isabella, ever observant, remarks on Cherry's absence from the first-class cabin, prompting Cherry to concoct a feeble excuse. Before they embark on a tennis match, Cherry seizes the opportunity to slip into Laura's room, intending to return a stolen golden necklace discreetly. But fate has other plans, as a housemaid catches her in the act, casting a shadow of suspicion over her actions.

During the tennis game, Daniel's competitive spirit flares, and his playful banter with Brigette leaves Cherry feeling increasingly uneasy. Claiming to be a novice at tennis, Cherry surprises everyone by nearly sending a tennis ball crashing into Brigette, extinguishing the lights. After the near-miss, the game abruptly concludes, and Cherry, visibly shaken, hurriedly apologizes, attributing it to a mere accident.

Seizing the moment, Cherry confronts Daniel about his competitive nature and the omission of his past relationship with Brigette. Daniel, remorseful, extends a heartfelt apology, and they reconcile, their bond strengthening amidst the turmoil. Seeking solace, the couple decides to steal away for some private time, opting for a leisurely bike ride.

Cherry, her heart heavy with insecurity, apologizes for not seamlessly blending into Daniel's world. Daniel, with a reassuring smile, assures her that it's perfectly alright. They engage in a candid conversation about his previous lovers, bathe in the refreshing waters of a nearby waterfall, and lose themselves in the moment. In a calculated move, Cherry switches off Daniel's phone when she notices Laura's messages flooding in, determined to keep their haven undisturbed.

On their way back home, Daniel decides to show off his bike tricks, only to end up with a nasty tumble and a few painful scrapes. When the couple finally arrives, Laura throws a bit of a tantrum, accusing them of being rude for being late to dinner. She had even gone to the trouble of hiring a chef to prepare Daniel's favorite dish. Her worry spikes into overdrive when she catches sight of Daniel's injuries.

The next morning, Cherry brings up Laura's over-the-top reaction to Daniel's mishap, calling it downright odd. Daniel, feeling attacked, gets defensive and storms off for a run. Left alone, Cherry bumps into Howard. She finds him mourning in his late daughter's bedroom. Cherry offers him some comfort, and in a moment of vulnerability, Howard invites her to join him for breakfast.

Over breakfast, Howard hands Cherry a business card for one of his real estate partners, thinking it might be useful for her affordable housing project. Laura barges in, reprimanding Howard for leaving their daughter's room unattended with Cherry present.

Later, Laura inquires about Daniel's whereabouts and insists on speaking with him as soon as he returns. Cherry, sensing impending trouble, heads back to her room and discovers her boarding pass placed conspicuously on top of her suitcase. It's a clear sign that Laura must have seen it.

Cherry waits anxiously for Daniel to come back. When he does, she calls him into the room. Lying on the chaise lounge in the foyer, she begins to pleasure herself, hoping to entice Daniel. Instead of joining in, Daniel retreats to the balcony to do the same. Unaware of the scene unfolding, Laura moves in for a hug, only to be shoved away by Daniel. Mortified, Laura retreats in shame, while Cherry can't help but chuckle. In retaliation, someone triggers the water sprinklers in the foyer, drenching Cherry.

Later, the family decides to take a yacht out, despite Cherry's desire for some alone time with Daniel. Cherry feels nauseous from the sea, but Daniel is too engrossed in his rivalry with Brigette to notice. Meanwhile, Laura and Isabella maintain a facade of friendliness, yet their indifference is palpable.

Bored and seeking companionship, Cherry attempts to join Brigette and Daniel on a surfboard. She loses her balance and begins to drown, her cries for help echoing across the water. From the yacht, Laura merely watches, her expression unreadable.

From Laura's perspective, the narrative resumes just before Cherry's arrival in Spain. Howard had pleaded with her to extend a warm welcome and to put aside the harsh critiques from the exhibition behind them. Later on, Laura enlisted Isabella's help in a covert mission to subtly irritate Cherry, after deducing that Cherry hadn't flown first-class. Isabella and Brigette, who had boarded a later flight, had been upgraded to first-class seats, giving them a clear view of Cherry's absence from that elite section.

As the plot unfolded, Laura and Isabella kept a watchful eye on Cherry. Laura went to great lengths to arrange for a private chef to prepare Daniel's favorite dishes, only to be met with disdain when Daniel and Cherry arrived late and visibly battered. Laura's curiosity got the better of her, and she rummaged through Cherry's belongings, deliberately leaving the boarding pass atop the suitcase for all to see.

The masturbation incident left Laura deeply embarrassed, prompting her to activate the sprinklers as a prank on Cherry. However, on the yacht, Laura had a change of heart, rescuing Cherry from a potential mishap and vowing to keep Cherry's inability to swim a secret. Their shopping excursion that followed was marked by Laura's extra-sweet demeanor towards Cherry.

Gradually, the walls between them began to crumble, and they opened up to each other. Cherry confessed that she hadn't secured a first-class ticket but had instead gone shopping. Laura, in turn, admitted to being overly protective, and they declared a truce.

As the day wore on, Cherry shared a personal anecdote about her mother being a butcher. She also fabricated a story about the man she had punched outside her office, claiming he was an ex-boyfriend of a colleague. Later, Laura reprimanded Daniel for neglecting Cherry. That evening, the two indulged in a glass (or two) of wine.

Seizing the moment, Laura opened up about her affair with Lilith following the tragic loss of her daughter. She implored Cherry to keep this secret, as Howard remained unaware of the full extent of her involvement with Lilith and was still sensitive about the subject. As night fell, the family indulged in a spontaneous dancing session.

The following day, Daniel opted out of a wine-tasting excursion. Laura suggested that Daniel and Cherry spend a quiet day together at the house while the rest of the group embarked on the tour. However, shortly after their arrival at the destination, Brigette stumbled upon a viral video depicting the chaos at Cherry's ex's wedding.

Laura recognized the man in the video and realized that Cherry had lied to her. She hurried back to the house, only to find Cherry swimming while Daniel was nowhere to be found. Confronting Cherry about her deceit, Laura was met with indifference. Cherry subtly threatened Laura, leaving her feeling uneasy. The episode concluded with Laura warning Cherry to keep her distance from Daniel.
