The story begins in Los Alamos, New Mexico, in 2010, where Adrian Gallo, with his unique and gruesome method of preserving his victims in resin, was on the loose. Fast forward to the present, the gang is discussing Lazarus and the motives of Bex, who seems to have her own agenda. Shane, with his experience of serving a joint mission with an army CO around that time, decides to reach out to them for any information they might have.

For now, it's time to hunt down Adrian Gallo. The gang has a lead on him after the initial drama in 2010, when he killed six people randomly, except for the fourth victim—Detective Jack Waylon, who was taken out by the killer himself. Eventually, the police caught up with Adrian Gallo with the help of Jack's partner, Erica. He was then transferred to the Pit.
For Adrian, encapsulating his victims in resin was a fascination with the form itself. He moved around a lot with his mother in the past before finally settling in New Mexico. However, when her health began to decline, Adrian discovered a new hobby—resin embedding. After his mother's loss, he stepped up his resin embedding from lizards and spiders to humans.
The "cure" for him inside the Pit was IAT—an Immersive Accountability Technique. He was shown hours of footage on repeat, constantly. Dr. Charles was overseeing this initially, the same man who looked after Ron Simms. They did this for years, and since he's escaped the Pit, it seems that Gallo is back on the hunt again.
Bex and the gang get a hit on another death in New Mexico. They rush to the scene to figure out what's going on. It seems like Adrian has a slightly different MO this time. He shows up at Erica's place but when the phone rings (it's Bex), it's enough of a distraction for Erica to grab her gun and force him to flee.
Bex and the gang met with Erica at her residence, where they agreed to let her join their mission to capture Adrian and return him to the Pit. Despite their initial reluctance, they conceded, emphasizing the need for stealth in their operation. Erica, who possessed crucial information about Adrian's next destination, revealed that he was heading towards his resins, kept in the New Mexico police evidence storage - a location she had instructed him to investigate.
After his "death," the residents of Los Alamos had hoped to be rid of the monster. However, everything, including the bodies, was stored away. But Adrian hadn't visited the locker, and even worse, the wooden boxes containing the human-preserved resins were missing. Could this be the work of the Pit?
Erica and Bex discussed their next steps. It seemed that Adrian was looking to resume his old work, including purchasing supplies from a hardware store. Their shared pain and bitterness towards their respective losses - Erica's partner and Bex's Odell - bonded them further.
At base, Peck, the newbie, proved to be more than just a lackey playing solitaire on the computer. He had managed to acquire Dr. Charles' hard drive from his personal office, containing videos of Dr. Charles destroying human resin in front of Adrian as part of his therapy. This further clarified Adrian's intention to restart his work.
Adrian had a boy approach Erica outside and instructed her to meet him alone at Room 120 at the Magistrate Hotel. When she arrived, Bex figured it out. It turned out that Adrian had killed his first three victims... but the last three were from a copycat killer - Erica herself.
Erica was driven to the brink of filing a warrant and securing his arrest, but Jack was at the cusp of quitting the force. Something within her took over, and she chose to employ Adrian's resin embedding technique to encapsulate him, thus preventing the detective from leaving. Once she tasted the power of it, she couldn't resist. Adrian, however, believed that they should continue together as a team. Instead, Erica turned on him and encased him in resin.
The group then arrived at Erica's residence, where a chaotic shootout ensued. In the end, Erica was fatally shot, and upon investigating her home, they discovered 13 bodies encased in her walls.
Shane offered encouraging words to Bex on the plane ride back, leading to her debriefing on the laptop. Peck appeared and apologized for Odell's passing, handing over the name placard from his office. The group then discussed what they had learned so far about Lazarus.
There were no red flags on her record, and in fact, there seemed to be nothing at all on her. It was almost as if she didn't exist.
