To add insult to injury, Sophie's past felony is dragged into the limelight, despite bearing no relevance to the current situation. Her lawyer is swiftly summoned to navigate through this mess, but fortunately for Sophie, she's granted bail due to a lack of concrete evidence tying her to the incident, leaving Flynn empty-handed in his pursuit.

Jed, irked by the media frenzy surrounding Sophie's ordeal that disrupted his pivotal speech, finds himself in a bind. Meanwhile, the other women indulge in gossip, while Sophie retreats to confront Graham, confessing her blackout after indulging in alcohol. Though no accusations of infidelity surface, Graham is far from pleased with her secrecy.

Sophie also faces a cold shoulder from Jed, who denies her access to Margo. Jed's covert signals to Margo after shutting Sophie out hint at a clandestine conspiracy brewing between them. Sophie begins to decipher this plot, noticing a significant dropout in her social media followers, many of whom are women from the group.

Pete, meanwhile, finds himself engrossed in incessant social media stalking, while Brad arrives at the basketball court to confront Jamie. Battling guilt over Abby's demise, the situation escalates into a brawl among the kids. Brad's frustration intensifies when he realizes Jamie intends to disclose the truth about their whereabouts that fateful night.

Jill abruptly halts her son mid-sentence, compelling him to silence and vowing to handle the situation herself. Soon after, Margo receives an ominous message from Brad, cautioning her that Jamie poses a potential threat.

Amidst the chaos, Starr storms into Jill's home, fuming with rage over the pre-paid funeral arrangements. She views this gesture as Jill's desperate attempt to assuage her guilt and buy her silence. With venom in her voice, Starr threatens Jill with retribution, her anger and bitterness palpable.

Yet, Jill remains preoccupied with the Jamie saga, rushing to meet him at the courthouse. In a bid to silence him, she offers him a 50,000-dollar scholarship program, whispering promises of "keeping it within the family."

Meanwhile, Margo and Jed arrive at the police station to provide their statements. Margo confesses to consuming a Xanax and driving away amidst a family emergency around 10:30 pm, insisting she left Sophie unattended. Intriguingly, Jonny abruptly turns off the camera when Margo mentions her parents, stunning Flynn with the abruptness. Sensing something amiss, Flynn hurries to Salazar's place seeking answers.

Despite the peculiar, almost too-convenient circumstances surrounding Margo's alibi, it checks out. Salazar remains unconvinced that Sophie is the killer, especially considering the girl's lack of shooting prowess, let alone the accuracy needed to snipe Abby from afar.

At Abby's funeral, Salazar accompanies the mourners, where Sophie's arrival stirs a hornet's nest of discontent among the attendees. Flynn notices Callie storm over, forcibly escorting Sophie out the door.

In the parking lot, the enigmatic one-eyed cowboy slips a note under Sophie's windshield wiper, bearing a phone number and an implied invitation to talk. Jamie dashes out to check on her, lambasting the unfairness of it all. He assures Sophie of her innocence, based solely on a "gut feeling," and apologizes for their tumultuous past.

They never ventured beyond kissing, sexual intimacy remaining an uncrossed boundary. Despite several rejections, she eventually allowed Brad to accompany her home. Sophie, now descending into chaos, rushes back to Graham, accusing everyone around her of a grand conspiracy. Later, Flynn and Salazar arrive at her doorstep once more, determined to extract information. They confront her with Margo's alibi, Salazar's piercing gaze exposing Sophie's apparent guilt. Desperate for the truth, they find only Sophie's vague claim of a lost memory.

Graham's fury erupts after their departure, his patience worn thin by her history of troubles and the reckless decision to purchase a firearm to appease her peers. Reaching his breaking point, he forces her from their shared home.

At Abby's funeral, Pete lurks in the shadows, observing from afar. He later offers a ride to one of Abby's young relatives, a gesture tinged with creepiness given his recent perusal of her social media photos.

Holed up in her motel room, Sophie seethes with anger, leaving a scathing voicemail for Margo, branding her as sick. Margo, ever manipulative, heads to Callie and Jonny, her fingers entwined in every scheme. While Jonny harbors doubts about Sophie's involvement, Callie and Margo readily condemn her. Margo even plays the voicemail for their amusement, heaping scorn upon Sophie.

In the dead of night, Jed's ex-wife calls Sophie, having witnessed the funeral drama. She advises Sophie to tread more cautiously, revealing her awareness of Margo's framing and casting aspersions on Kyle, Margo's brother. She provides Sophie with Kyle's address, setting the stage for Sophie's confrontation. When Sophie arrives, Kyle's erratic behavior places a gun at her temple, dragging her into the house and slamming the door shut behind them.
