Elsewhere, Anna seizes the twins and confiscates their vestiges, leaving Vax with a split-second decision: to flee or to perish. His instincts prevail, and he secures his escape while reclaiming his beloved dagger. The Earth Ashari leader, sensing Keyleth's peril, urges her to surrender to the gravitational pull of the earth, to find solace in the ties that bind her to the trusted souls of her world. Her compliance summons a delicate strand of connection, guiding her back to her comrades, particularly to Vax, who stands as her beacon of hope.

Emerging from the earth's crust like a majestic earth elemental, Keyleth now possesses the ability to delve into the depths of the soil and perceive Raishan's whereabouts with unparalleled clarity.

Simultaneously, Pike tenderly conveys Kaylie back to Scanlan, whose thoughts have been inexorably entwined with his daughter's welfare. Pike's reassurance that he has been pondering over her fills Scanlan with warmth, as his own affection for her echoes in his heart. His slumber shattered by the poignant revelation, Scanlan awakens to enfold his daughter in a heartfelt embrace.

Amidst this tender reunion, Vex and Vax face a hail of bullets from every conceivable angle. Vex, resourceful and swift, retrieves her bow and, together with Vax, they set their sights on Anna. Vex unleashes a barrage of arrows aimed at explosive caches, igniting the ship in a fiery inferno. Yet, despite the blaze, the battle rages on with relentless fury.

Keyleth reverts to her original form, endowed with a novel capacity to converse through the earth's crust. She beckons Scanlan, Pike, and Grog to converge upon Zephrah. Scanlan hesitates, torn between his duty to Kaylie and his camaraderie, but Keyleth, appreciating his devotion, insists on his departure.

As Anna battles Vex and Vax amidst the blazing ship, Vax detects Percy's anguished spirit emanating from Anna's pepperbox. Just as Anna prepares to fire the fatal shot, Vax is struck but manages to disarm her. With his dagger at her throat, he immobilizes her while Vex unleashes Fenthras's fury upon her. Vex pleads that the world would benefit from Percy's continued presence, yet Anna's fate is sealed by another bullet from Vex's weapon.

On the shore, Vex confesses to Vax her longing for the camaraderie of their former group. Vax reveals that Percy's voice echoed from the pepperbox, sparking speculation that Orthax's victims might be ensnared within, their souls lingering in limbo.

Suddenly, Keyleth's visage emerges from the sand, commanding them to reunite with the others in Zephrah. The group ultimately converges in Zephrah, where Keyleth expresses her contrition. Initially angered by their disinclination to heed her warnings, she realizes it was their unwavering support that fortified her trust in herself. She then confesses her love to Vax, and their lips meet in a tender embrace.

This time, the group is steadfast in their commitment to follow Keyleth's lead. She guides them to Raishan's lair, a ziggurat where she is engaged in a ritual with Thordak's lifeless corpus. Raishan isolates Keyleth from the rest of Vox Machina, vowing to eradicate the Ashari from existence to avenge her suffering. Keyleth retaliates with a surge of vines, seemingly vanquishing Raishan.

However, Raishan's true strategy unfolds as she awakens within Thordak's colossal frame, revealing her resurrection as the ultimate twist in her grim narrative.
