The Legend of Vox Machina – Season 3 Episode 3 1

Cassandra reassures Percy Whitestone that he's in capable hands, but his attention is elsewhere, captivated by Vex. She playfully calls him out on his infatuation and nudges him to seek Vex out in her chamber. Gathering his courage, Percy heads to her room, but he barely needs to utter a word; Vex answers the door, scantily clad, and warmly invites him in.

Elsewhere, Vax and Keyleth engage in a heartfelt conversation, with Vax reluctantly confessing that their future together is fraught with sorrow. He foresees a future where, as the Voice of the Tempest, Keyleth will live for centuries after he and the rest of the group have passed. Unwilling to subject her to such a fate, he breaks her heart by insisting they cannot be together. Angered by his refusal to take any risks for their relationship, Keyleth angrily bids him farewell.

Pike ventures out to meet Scanlan, but he misjudges her signals and attempts to kiss her. Rebuffed, he flees in embarrassment, leaving Pike behind.

As the group sets forth towards Draconia in Wildemount, Raishan intercepts them, warning that Thordak's suspicions are growing, and they have just two days to act. They encounter Dohla, Kima and Allura's companion, who generously offers to share the gateway to their destination. Kima is astounded by Dohla's warmth, having anticipated a hostile reception due to past grievances.

Vex and Percy remain as vigilant watchers alongside Kima and Allura, while the remainder of their group ventures through the gateway to the infernal realm. Following their departure, Kima expresses her regret to Dohla for any pain she may have caused by her union with Allura, but the dragonborn assures her that her feelings remain unscathed. Percy, however, is disconcerted by Vex's dismissive labeling of their time together as a mere "liaison," a conversation abruptly halted by the arrival of the formidable dragon, Vorugal.

Suddenly, Dohla's demeanor toward Kima turns icy, accusing her of a pattern of abandoning her comrades. During their triumph over Thordak, Kima and Allura had claimed all the glory, leaving Dohla behind. Kima contends that they believed she was content with her role, but apologies from both her and Allura fall on deaf ears. Dohla reveals her allegiance to the dragons, who have promised to spare her people and grant her the power she desires.

Vorugal gives chase, and in a desperate bid to escape, they surf down the mountain's slope on a magical shield conjured by Allura. Tragedy strikes as Kima loses her grip and tumbles off after a violent collision with the dragon. Vorugal, enraged, slays Dohla, who had provoked him by taunting him to end their lives more swiftly. He then imprisons Allura, Vex, and Percy within the mountain's depths, where Vex and Percy finally resume their interrupted discussion.

Vex confesses to Percy that she cannot offer him the reassurance he seeks. She warns that she brings misfortune to relationships, urging them to keep their connection as a fleeting, casual affair. Allura rejoins them after an exhaustive search reveals no escape route. Yet, they must find one, for their friends' fate hinges on their success; trapped in the abyssal depths of hell, their rescue depends solely on them.
