In the sixth episode of Season 3 of "The Legend of Vox Machina," Scanlan conjures a portal to his exclusive nightclub, providing Vox Machina with a temporary refuge. Inside, Vax seeks out Percy for a heart-to-heart chat amidst the soothing waters of a hot spring, focusing on Vex. He pledges to ease his worries about her safety if Percy can make her happy. Just as Vax exits, Vex emerges from beneath the surface, her breath held in anticipation to evade her brother's detective eyes.

The Legend of Vox Machina – Season 3 Episode 6 1

Percy confides in Vex, expressing a sense of liberation from the burden of revenge. If they make it through their perilous mission, he harbors dreams of assisting in the rejuvenation of Whitestone and invites Vex to build a life with him there.

Later, as the group gathers for dinner, discussions turn to the impending battle in Emon. Pike voices her anxiety, fearing she might not wield the plate effectively despite her unfruitful practice sessions. Additionally, Anna Ripley and the possession of Cabal's Ruin remain pressing concerns. Yet, Vax insists they cannot afford the luxury of pursuing vestiges; they must press forward with their mission.

Scanlan, however, remains indifferent to their discussions. Struggling to connect with his daughter, he doubts his ability to save Tal'Dorei. Pike shares news of Kaylie with the others and then goes to comfort Scanlan, discovering him in tears. He berates himself for abandoning his daughter, labeling himself unworthy.

With a spell, Pike reveals Kaylie's whereabouts to Scanlan. They discover she is performing in Nicodranas and, contrary to Scanlan's beliefs, actually longs for her father's presence.

The following day, Allura transports the members of Vox Machina to Whitestone, with Scanlan opting to remain behind in his earnest pursuit of Kaylie. Upon their return, the rest of the group is met with a harrowing sight: Whitestone engulfed in flames as newborn dragons wreak havoc across the city. They promptly scatter to lend their aid wherever it is most desperately needed.

Vax stands vigilant, guarding Keyleth and Allura as they valiantly battle to extinguish the inferno that has claimed the sun tree. Elsewhere, their comrades engage in fierce combat with the dragons, while Percy rushes to Cassandra's side, offering crucial support in her own fierce struggle.

Despite their valiant efforts, Vox Machina emerges victorious from the fray but fails to prevent the dragons from reducing their beloved city to ruins. Vex's frustration spikes as she realizes Scanlan's absence during their moment of dire need, though Pike soothes her by reminding her of his pressing commitment elsewhere.

A dark shroud now cloaks the once-thriving city of Whitestone. Keyleth and Vax share a grim conviction: Raishan must have betrayed them, revealing Whitestone's location to the dragons. As Raishan approaches, the group closes ranks around her, tension thick in the air. However, Percy raises his firearm skyward, signaling a halt to any impending attack. He alone knows the true traitor's identity—Anna Ripley.

Percy insists that they confront Anna before setting their sights on Thordak. Raishan disagrees, urging them to prioritize Emon, but Percy severs their alliance with her. The dragon vows they shall meet again, but as adversaries, not allies.

As the episode concludes, Percy is consumed by guilt over his inability to shield his people. He turns to Vex, pleading for her assistance in ending Anna's treachery. Vex solemnly promises her aid, yet her heart weighs heavy with the fear that revenge may once again obscure Percy's judgment.
