The seventh episode of The Mighty Nein finds the king conducting a public execution, its target a member of the Cobalt Soul. With Trent's strength now proven, the archmage is ruthlessly dismantling any obstacles in his path.

Astrid shares news of Bren with Eadwulf, and they hatch a plan to pursue him. Eadwulf, however, declares that their encounter with Bren will be a permanent one. Meanwhile, Caleb receives the necklace that promises to render him invisible once again. Alas, it may be too little, too late.
A gentleman presents them with a new job offer. Whispers abound that Trent Ikithon possesses a formidable Kryn artifact, slated for display at an upcoming festival. He wants them to steal it. Molly and Jester are intrigued, but the rest of the group is hesitant. This prompts some to pursue their original objectives and part ways with the group.
Beau grows concerned for Dairon and ventures out to find her. Fjord, on the other hand, believes it's time to take Jester to the safe space her mother had mentioned, which they are now close to reaching. In the end, after a bittersweet farewell, they all go their separate ways.
Caleb and Nott remain together, but the wizard devises a ruse to send the Goblin off on his own mission to track down Trent. He knows the peril that awaits but decides to embark on his final quest with only his cat by his side, summoned through magic.
Fjord escorts Jester to Pillow Trove and confesses his departure. The place doesn't suit him, and he still needs to find himself. She urges him to stay, but he declines. Before leaving, Fjord kisses her on the cheek and vows that he'll never forget her.
Beau receives unfortunate news upon finding Dairon. The woman advises against joining the Cobalt Soul and suggests staying hidden to avoid confusion. As a parting gift, Dairon presents Beau with her own staff and vanishes into thin air.
As Molly trails Cree into an abandoned house, he is unaware of her intentions but senses that the atmosphere holds a secret to his past. With his powers, he alters his vision, revealing the gruesome truth: the place is stained with blood and perhaps even the whispers of death.
Meanwhile, the solo adventures of The Mighty Nein take a detour into the realm of the Kryn Dynasty. After Verrat uncovered the truth about the beacon, he presents Essek with an ultimatum: either he must confess to the Bright Queen or Verrat will do it for him. The conversation unfolds at Deirta's residence, prompting her to arrange a meeting with the Bright Queen. She confesses her ailment and agrees to her execution, hoping it will serve as a wake-up call for Essek.
As Deirta prepares for her fate, she implores Essek to accompany her to the execution ground. She explains that her sacrifice is a desperate attempt to nudge him towards redemption and to recover the beacon. However, everything happens too swiftly for Essek, leaving him little time to process his mother's words. The Bright Queen inquires who Deirta chose to escort her into the afterlife, and she reveals it's Essek, who was unaware of this arrangement. With a heavy heart, Essek stabs his mother in the heart, watching her soul dissipate into nothingness.
Meanwhile, Molly continues her stealthy pursuit of Cree as she and other enigmatic figures descend into the house's basement. Cree encounters a wood that seems to draw his blood like a thirsty creature, so he cuts his hand to investigate. The act terrifies him as it forms a gruesome image of Molly herself and multiple blood-filled eyes.
In the heart of the city, Nott, intoxicated by alcohol, chooses to reveal his true form as a Goblin to the onlookers. They perceive him as an abomination due to his race, so he embraces this image and seeks to terrify them with his grotesque appearance.
Jester's timely arrival provided the perfect opportunity to snatch Nott away from potential capture by the guards, the two disappearing into the shadows before the authorities could act. With a mischievous grin, Jester revealed her scheme to conjure the Traveler's presence, leading them to a nearby church.
Posing Nott as a child stricken by the taint of dark magic, they played on the fears of the villagers and the eagerness for exorcism. As the church emptied, Jester and Nott sprung into action, defacing the sacred spaces with posters of the Traveler, shattering statues, and painting every surface in their wake. Their laughter echoed through the ruined church as they fled just as a contingent of guards and clerics arrived on the scene.
Though the Traveler did not materialize as expected, Jester's heart sank. The loneliness and disconnection she felt in the absence of her companions weighed heavily on her mind. Nott empathized, understanding the yearning for camaraderie and purpose that had been missing since their separation.
Meanwhile, Fjord found himself in a strange limbo, visiting a bathhouse where he attempted to communicate with his seemingly-deceased companion on his head. The resulting confusion led him to find himself face-to-face with the relentless Uk'otoa, the sea monster pushing him to consume its eye and threatening his life. It was only through Beau's timely intervention that Fjord was saved from drowning, their shared despair turning into a determination to prove their worth by stealing the beacon.
Caleb's journey to confront Trent was interrupted by a surprise encounter with Eadwulf and his trap, leaving him reeling under the magical chains that held him captive. The two mages, though they chastised and mocked Caleb, released him under a debt owed. Caleb returned home, saddened but with a newfound resolve to make amends with Nott. His proposal of starting anew, perhaps without revenge and towards a peaceful future, was met with Nott's acceptance but with a twist - she yearned for adventure, for them to become heroes by stealing the beacon together.
At the Kryn Dynasty, Verrat's attempt to inform the queen of Essek's whereabouts was met with a surprise twist when she discovered that Essek had already betrayed her to the queen. The queen executed Verrat without hesitation, revealing her own plan for Verrat - to find and secure the artifact.
Meanwhile, Vess DeRogna received a pirate's compass from an enigmatic figure, hinting at a possible group willing to steal the beacon. As she activated the compass, a vast map unfolded before her eyes. Her discovery of a book with eyes on its cover piqued her interest; it seemed to be Molly's lost possession before his memory loss. As she began to chant, her eyes glowed red, and an eye tattoo appeared on her arm. The episode ended with Vess DeRogna laughing maniacally, her eyes ablaze with newfound purpose.
