The Power – Season 1 Episode 6

In the sixth episode of Season 1 of "The Power," UrbanDox's message continues to resonate, stoking the flames of a divisive agenda that men have become too soft and must reclaim their power from women for the supposed benefit of society. Among the rabid followers of this ideology stands a streamer's loyal listener, lurking outside Margot's residence. His intentions are unclear - plotting against the mayor perhaps, or merely seething with envy as he contemplates the powerful position she holds.

For the first time since their explosive argument, Margot and Rob engage in a tense conversation. The rift between them remains wide, as she finds it difficult to trust him, and he feels she lacks commitment to doing what's right. At work, Helen approaches Margot with a urgent warning: to keep her power a secret, as women in their office are being fired solely for possessing it.

The Power – Season 1 Episode 6 1

Tunde journeys back to Nigeria for a wedding, reuniting with Ndudi and attempting to persuade the groom-to-be not to abandon his nuptials due to his fiancée's possession of the power. Meanwhile, Roxy visits Terry's graveside, mourning the loss of her brother who sacrificed his life in the struggle after she avenged her mother's death. Her remaining brother, Darell, confesses his desire to distance himself from their father's business. Despite her intimidating demeanor, Roxy manages to find a place for herself in Bernie's business, her powerful presence making her an invaluable asset.

Jos's use of her powers takes an intimate turn with Ryan, but the encounter leaves him deeply unsettled. When she persists despite his pleas to stop, he pushes her away, accidentally injuring her lip. Blaming him for her injury, she flees the scene in a huff. Later, Jos offers Ryan an apology, but he reveals that it's not her power that scares him. He confesses that he has been born intersex, possessing both genitalia, and it's this secret that has prevented him from engaging in sexual relations with her. While Jos accepts this revelation, she cannot help but feel resentment towards the other secrets he has kept from her.

Due to his abnormally elevated estrogen levels, he unexpectedly gained a singular ability when she accidentally electrocuted him prior to their romantic entanglement. Jos, enraged by his silence, lashed out at him for never disclosing this hidden truth, but he remained apathetic. It was his body, and he felt no obligation to justify himself to her.

Governor Danden declared a statewide public health emergency, mandating that all women undergo EOD testing. Margot steeled herself for the procedure, which entailed sitting motionless as a jolt of electricity coursed through her body. She managed to conceal her discomfort, successfully navigating the test and temporarily concealing her EOD status.

Undeterred, Margot retaliated against Danden, vowing to challenge him in the primaries for the Senate seat. Later, Rob met with Declan for a drink, preparing for his impending trip to Carpathia for further investigation. Over drinks, Rob vented his frustrations about Margot, admitting that while he had never minded being with a powerful woman, he and their children had not signed up for the danger her public stance had brought them.

However, when Margot announced her intention to run for the Senate to her family, Rob kept his thoughts to himself. Matty exploded in anger, claiming that Margot and Rob were proof of how women were emasculating men and stripping them of their voice. That night, Margot and Jos bonded over a cigarette, with Jos voicing her unwavering support for her mother. They agreed to keep Margot's EOD a secret from even Rob until after the election.

As Margot stood before her family, announcing her Senate campaign, a horrifying incident suddenly unfolded. The man who had been lurking outside her home earlier suddenly ignited himself, the words of UrbanDox echoing in her mind. Chaos and panic engulfed the scene, and Margot faced unprecedented challenges and an unknown future.
