The second episode of "The Price of Confession" commences with Yun-su's lawyer imploring her that if she confesses to the murder, claiming self-defense, she can secure a lesser sentence. A video then unfolds, showing her reenacting the crime, only to protest her innocence midway through. This video is presented during the trial, where despite the lawyer's advice, Yun-su stands firm, claiming her innocence. Nonetheless, she is sentenced to life in prison.

Meanwhile, the detectives storm the luxurious glass house where Mo Eun was waiting and make her arrest. At the police station, she reveals herself to be a dental assistant for the couple residing in the house, who treated her with disdain, akin to a maid. She informs the detectives that she always carries poison and a surgical scalpel in her bag. Detective Ryu points out that she doesn't have fingerprints, and she explains it away as a chemical accident at the clinic. The detectives enlist the help of a psychiatrist, who asks Mo Eun a few questions, which she answers with an aura of awe, describing how the couple died.
Yun-su is visited by her friend, Mun-jun, who is now taking care of Sop but is now facing the repercussions of the scandal on her son. Thus, she plans to let Sop be adopted by another family. This news weighs heavily on Yun-su, who retreats to her cell and weeps uncontrollably. When another inmate named Wal-sun becomes irritated by her crying, Yun-su engages in a fight with her.
By the time Mo Eun arrives at the prison, she sees Yun-su being escorted to the infirmary. However, it's not due to an injury from the fight; rather, Yun-su bashed her own head into the wall. At the infirmary, the doctor attempts to counsel Yun-su to stay alive for her daughter.
In her cell, one of Mo Eun's roommates initiates a fight against her for disrespecting her. Mo Eun breaks a pencil and holds it at the woman's carotid artery, explaining how she could kill her with a mere pinprick. As a result of this fight, she is taken to solitary confinement where Mo Eun suffers a panic attack upon seeing a cobweb—she has arachnophobia. The guard takes her to another cell that is cobweb-free.
However, this seemingly pales in comparison to the truth. Mo Eun, with a simplicity that borders on the otherworldly, merely desired a cell adjacent to Yun-su's. She introduces herself as a murderer and a witch, offering her services to Yun-su in exchange for a confession to Ki-dae's crime. A week later, Yun-su emerges from solitary confinement, her eyes scanning the newspapers filled with articles declaring Mo Eun a witch and a psychopath. One of the prison guards informs her that her lawyer has withdrawn from the case, leaving her to seek a new advocate.
As another lawyer meets with Mo Eun to discuss her trial, she makes a bold request for a proper trial with a jury. Her plea is not only accepted but also garners significant attention. During the trial, when the judge grants Mo Eun the floor, she shocks everyone by announcing her intention to confess to another murder - that of Ki-dae. Her announcement echoes through the prison, reaching Yun-su and her roommates via the news.
When Mo Eun returns to her cell, Yun-su is left wondering if she truly is the one who ended her husband's life, comparing her face to the figure she saw in the black hoodie.
