En route, Yoshiki proposes an audacious plan: to ditch school and forgo the choir performance. Meanwhile, the rest of their classmates gear up for the impending competition with palpable excitement. Amidst this backdrop, Yoshiki and Hikaru board a train, while Yoshiki's father exchanges pleasantries with a colleague, Stressing the importance of safety. Elsewhere, Kaoru hesitantly inquiries about skipping school once more, only to receive her mother's gentle reminder not to strain herself unnecessarily.

Upon reaching the cinema, Yoshiki's mind drifts back to his meditations of the preceding night, prompting him to silently apologize to his family photo. He repeats, almost to himself, that he harbors no ill will, urging Hikaru to immerse himself in the cinematic experience. Concurrently, the choir's melodious rendition echoes with themes of embracing the future, while Yoshiki places a call home to check in.

Through a montage of scenes, Yoshiki's father acknowledges the scarcity of their conversations, while Kaoru astutely notices Yoshiki's unusually subdued tone. Their mother, ever perceptive, surmises that school has been skipped today.

Determined to beat the heat during their break, the boys made their way back to Yoshiki's house, yearning for some relief from the scorching sun. Upon arrival, they were greeted with a video of their class's recent performance. Hikaru, caught up in the music, began to sing along enthusiastically. Little did he know, Yoshiki was approaching with a knife gleaming in the dim light, his intentions unclear until the blade plunged into Hikaru's flesh. In an instant, Yoshiki recoiled, the harsh reality dawning on him that Hikaru was beyond mortal harm.

Initially, Yoshiki had hoped to mold Hikaru into a more empathetic being, teaching him the ways of humanity. When that proved futile, he settled for granting Hikaru one final, joyful day. But faced with the immutable fact of Hikaru's immortality, Yoshiki's desperation took a dark turn. He begged Hikaru to end his own life instead.

In a surprising twist, Hikaru responded by reaching into his wound and tearing out a piece of his own inner essence, offering it to Yoshiki. By diminishing himself in this way, Hikaru hoped to curb his own ability to harm others. As the gravity of the situation settled, Yoshiki admitted, with a hint of self-deprecation, that despite his foolishness, if Hikaru wished to stay by his side, he would stand by him too, even if the strain threatened to shatter him from within.

Their conversation took a philosophical turn as Yoshiki proposed they embark on a quest to uncover the truth about Hikaru's nature, even as he felt himself being inexplicably drawn into Hikaru's enigmatic world.
