The fourteenth episode of "The Tale of Lady Ok" kicks off with Deok-hun, Seung-hwi, and Tae-young pondering whether the moneylenders are colluding with Bak. Outside, the slaves are enveloped in a cloud of anxiety, wondering about their fates. In a moment of generosity, Man-seok steps forward to offer his own money to alleviate their concerns. However, his gesture is abruptly interrupted by Heo Soon, who notices aloe vera in his meal and wonders aloud why such an expensive herb, not native to Joseon and valued for its medicinal properties, would be served to them.
The Seung household is astounded to learn of aloe's high market value. That night, Seung-hwi is taken aback by Tae-young's calm demeanor; she exhibits no concern regarding Bak, insisting she has a backup plan in place.
The following day, Bak and Nak-su host a luncheon attended by Cha, Hong, Kim, Tae-young, and Seung-hwi. Bak bluntly inquires about Gu-deok, prompting everyone to rally in defense of Tae-young. Nak-su proves unhelpful, having forgotten Gu-deok's face. Madam Kim takes the blame for the fake bounty hunters, claiming she acted to safeguard everyone's reputation by driving So-hye away.
Later, in private, Bak confides in Nak-su that he's indifferent to So-hye's revenge but intends to exploit the slave rumor to rein in Tae-young should she become overly meddlesome once more.
Turning to the timeless ginseng scam, aloe vera stands as the sole crop thriving on Cheongsu's parched soil. Tae-young and Seung-hwi generously offer free aloe seeds to all, envisioning a solution to repay debts. Hong expresses remorse, while Cha weeps, comforted by Seung-hwi. Soon, the community is united in planting, fostering a spirit of camaraderie among nobles, the impoverished, and slaves alike.
Amidst this scene, an elderly woman named Gu, plagued by dementia, repeatedly claims ownership of the land, eliciting lighthearted laughter from all. From afar, Nak-su and Bak observe with sly smiles, plotting to seize the aloe to sell at exorbitant prices, capitalizing on its potential to treat a virus spreading in Hanyang.
At the same time, Tae-young and Seung-hwi head to Hanyang to find aloe buyers. They have a joyful reunion with Do-gyeom and Mi-ryeong. That night, Tae-young takes Seung-hwi to her mother’s grave. On the way back, they are shocked to see that Lord Song, Seung-hwi’s father is dead. Do-gyeom and Tae-young set up a private service and a tearful Seung-hwi pays his respects.
Nearby, Lee’s symptoms are getting worse. He tells his daughter-in-law to stay away as a precaution. Meanwhile, Tae-young and Seung-hwi make a great deal with the aloe buyers. They get 6 grand which includes a downpayment for next year’s harvest. Cheongsu will have to pay back double if they fail (is that foreshadowing?).
However, the county cheers as all the poor are able to pay back their debt. The public thanks Cha who puts the spotlight on Seung-hwi. Together they embarrass him by showering him with affection. Madam Hong is also teary-eyed as she is constantly grateful to Tae-young. She promises to be responsible for the aloe farm and Madam Kim finally makes her the head of Mother’s Sanctuary.
To celebrate, Tae-young and Seung-hwi drink. Seung-hwi confesses he was sad he had to give up his artist profession and the happiness he gave his audience. But he is now glad that he can provide the same happiness as the county’s inspector. Having fully accepted his role as Yun-gyeom, Tae-young decides to consummate their marriage. She says she loves him and they sleep together for the first time.
The fleeting joy in the county is abruptly shattered as Bak initiates his devious plan. Nak-su craftily forges a permit, falsely accusing Bak's henchman, Sol-gae, of purchasing the land two years prior, and strikes a deal for an 80-20 division of the profits. Tae-young places her unwavering trust in Mrs. Gu's son to uncover the land's title deed. The Gus indeed locate the document, but Nak-su maliciously claims it to be a forgery and savagely attacks both mother and son. Distressed and determined, Tae-young spends a sleepless night in search of a resolution. As always, her persistence pays off in court, where she triumphantly exposes Nak-su's forgery by matching his handwriting. Additionally, she uncovers a historical dispute between Mrs. Gu and her brother concerning the land, further cementing her case.
Subsequently, Seung-hwi and the noblemen band together to file charges against Nak-su for his corruption and brutality. The Provincial Governor, swayed by their appeal, grants their request. As Nak-su is led away in chains, Tae-young fixes him with a piercing gaze, and he finally acknowledges her presence. Tragically, he expires while enduring a brutal punishment of 100 lashes. So-hye, enraged, blames Bak for allowing Nak-su's demise, but Bak remains indifferent.
Time passes, and it is revealed that Tae-young is with child and embarks on a vacation with Seung-hwi. Man-seok generously hands over his money, confessing that this was his ultimate plan all along, aware that Seung-hwi had squandered his share on bounty hunters. Meanwhile, Tae-young entrusts Kkeutdong with the role of chief lawyer in her absence, leaving him deeply moved.
The climax of "The Tale of Lady Ok" Episode 14 unfolds as guards arrive with an arrest warrant for Gu-deok and Seo-in (Seung-hwi). Tae-young is escorted to the Magistrate's office, while Seung-hwi desperately strives to reach her side. She shakes her head subtly, signaling him to recall their code – a signal for him to flee with Man-seok to ensure their collective survival.
