The Veil – Season 1 Episode 4

The episode begins with Emir stepping into the serene Cimetiere du Pere-Lachaise, his destination being the final resting place of Jim Morrison. As he approaches the gravesite, he finds a woman already kneeling before the tombstone, paying her respects to the late musician. After a brief, respectful exchange, Emir leaves a bouquet of flowers at the grave before disappearing into the shadows.

Once Emir is out of sight, the woman at the gravesite transforms, revealing herself as a CIA operative. She discreetly pulls out a phone and calls Max, relaying Emir's location. Max, in turn, orders another agent to provide backup as the female operative sets off in pursuit of Emir.

The chase is tense and breathless, but the female agent manages to catch up to Emir. Before she can make a move, however, Emir turns and fires a shot, striking her square in the head. Without a word, he melts into the crowd, leaving only the lifeless body of the agent behind.

Meanwhile, at the DGSE headquarters, Malik meets with Magritte. Magritte informs him that they have commissioned a sophisticated device capable of allowing French intelligence to spy on Max Peterson in real-time, granting them access to all the information the CIA possesses.

Elsewhere, Imogen and Adilah enjoy a leisurely afternoon at a hotel bar, sipping cocktails and chatting. As they do, Adilah opens up about her past, revealing secrets and stories that have been buried deep within her. Unbeknownst to them, Max watches their interaction from a distance, his expression unreadable.

After their conversation, Max approaches Imogen with a stark ultimatum. He gives her 24 hours to secure the information they need on Adilah or face the consequences. The CIA, he warns, will take matters into their own hands, employing traditional – and brutal – interrogation techniques.

Later, in the glitz and glamour of a Parisian nightclub, Adilah is unexpectedly approached by Emir. Their encounter is brief but tense, and Imogen catches sight of them together, her heart rate spiking. As multiple gunmen suddenly emerge, trying to shoot at both Imogen and Adilah, the women flee for their lives.

After a harrowing escape, the pair manages to return to their flat unscathed. Adilah collapses into bed, exhausted, while Imogen pores over CIA records of her father, given to her by Max. The information is dense and complex, but Imogen is determined to find what she's looking for – whatever the cost.
