The eighth episode of Season 2 of "The Wheel Of Time" opens with a mesmerizing leap back in time, spanning three millennia. Lews Therin stands victorious, having successfully bound Ishamael. Their interaction hints at a complex relationship, akin to friendship. Rather than enduring centuries of captivity, Ishamael almost pleads with Lews for mercy, begging him to end his life. Yet, Lews remains resolute in his mission to thwart Ishamael's rebirth, dismissing his pleas and leaving him sealed away.
Switching to the present timeline, Rand, Moiraine, Lan, and Lanfear have ventured into the Waygate, with Lanfear leading the way. However, their journey takes an unexpected turn when Lanfear abruptly forces Moiraine and Lan out of the Waygate in a secluded coastal area. Rand's pleas for her to reconsider fall on deaf ears.
Moiraine and Lan find solace in a serene waterside stroll. Lan requests that Moiraine re-bond with him, acknowledging her previous assessment of their inequality. Moiraine clarifies, revealing that her original statement intended to convey that he is her perfect complement. They reconnect, their bond rekindled through mutual understanding.
Meanwhile, Lanfear makes her way to Falme to confront Ishamael. She reveals that she personally brought Rand to Falme. Ishamael, thrown off guard by this revelation, cautions her that they are not yet ready. Lanfear assures him of their preparedness and insists that Rand will choose the dark side this time.
Elsewhere, Bayle Damon receives an unexpected visit from Lanfear. She tasks him with releasing the seals belonging to the forsaken somewhere off the coast. Initially resistant, he eventually agrees after she tempts him with a monetary reward.
The Whitecloaks are gearing up for battle, plotting to invade Falme and launch a strike against the Seanchan. United in their purpose, they storm the gates of Falme, initiating a fierce assault on their adversaries.
Perrin and his friend Aviendha arrive in Falme, with Perrin bidding his wolf friend Hopper farewell, promising to return safely.
With Seta's assistance, Nynaeve and Elayne prepare to rescue Egwene, utilizing an a'dam wrapped around her neck to assert control. They devise a plan to infiltrate the tower and liberate Egwene. Meanwhile, Perrin reunites with Loial, Ingtar, and Mesma, bringing back the Horn of Valere—a crucial relic for Rand's victory in the impending war.
Determined to rescue their remaining comrades, including Egwene, Loial and the others steel themselves for action. However, their mission is marred by tragedy when Ingtar is slain in a clash with Seanchan troops.
High Lord Turak learns of the Horn of Valere's disappearance and promptly orders his subordinates to locate and retrieve it. As they prepare to depart, Rand emerges, harnessing the One Power to slaughter them all.
Elsewhere, Ishamael visits Padan Fain, a Darkfriend who once stole the Horn of Valere. Ishamael fills him in on Lanfear's betrayal. Motivated by this revelation, Padan Fain resolves to convince Mat to slay Rand with a blade, as foreseen in Min's vision. Padan Fain attempts to imprison Mat with a dagger, but Mat skillfully evades it and flees.
Concurrently, Ishamael approaches Lady Suroth, suggesting that she and her subordinates depart for the seas. He instructs her to utilize her Damane to aid in taming the reborn dragon, setting the stage for an epic confrontation in the near future.
In response to the Whitecloak assault on the Seanchan, the Sul'dams and Damane received directives to unite and eradicate the looming peril. Egwene's obstinate refusal to heed the counsel of her Sul'dam, Renna, led to a devastating setback for the Seanchan forces. Fortunately, Egwene managed to survive the fierce battle, and Renna was also spared from the grim fate. However, amidst the chaos, Egwene stumbled upon an a'dam belonging to a fallen Damane and, driven by unknown motives, utilized it to choke Renna to death.
Shortly thereafter, Rand arrived at the tower and was reunited with Egwene. He attempted to rationalize his decision to keep his survival a secret from her. Meanwhile, Perrin unexpectedly encountered Mat, and amidst the turmoil caused by the war between the Seanchan and the Whitecloaks, they realized the urgency of acquiring the Horn of Valere to reach Rand. Mat, determined to fulfill this mission, embarked on a hasty journey to deliver the Horn to Rand, while Hopper sacrificed his life to protect Perrin. In a fit of rage, Perrin avenged Hopper's death by slaying Geofram.
Mat, striving to reach Rand, found himself confronted by Seanchan soldiers. Instinctively, he blew the Horn of Valere, summoning the spirits of his ancestors from past lives. Each of these spirits reminded him of his lifelong battle for the Light. United, they confronted the Seanchan soldiers and emerged victorious.
As the battle intensified, Ishamael stormed the tower, attacking Rand and Egwene. Lady Suroth and her Damane successfully shielded Rand from the One Power, weakening Ishamael's assault. Mat's arrival only exacerbated the situation; intending to strike Ishamael, he was deceived by the latter's illusion and inadvertently stabbed Rand. Mat, filled with remorse, offered his apologies and assistance to Rand. At this crucial moment, Egwene rose to confront Ishamael, joined shortly by Nynaeve, Elayne, and Perrin. Elayne's healing powers restored Rand, enabling him to face Ishamael.
From the seaside, Moiraine observed the tower and Lady Suroth's actions. Driven by a sense of duty, she launched a fierce attack on Lady Suroth's Damane, slaying them without mercy. With the odds now in his favor, Rand was able to defeat Ishamael. Moiraine, utilizing her powers, summoned a fire dragon to spread the word that Rand was indeed the Dragon Reborn, fulfilling the ancient prophecy.
Lanfear, learning of Rand's victory, expressed her joy and revealed that she had been on his side throughout. However, upon returning to her room, she found Moghedian, another Forsaken, waiting for her. Lanfear discovered that Ishamael had freed Moghedian due to his mistrust of her. Moghedian explained that Lanfear and Ishamael's downfall stemmed from their excessive attachment to the Dragon Reborn. Unperturbed, she emphasized that such weaknesses did not apply to her. The season concluded with the release of another Forsaken, one of icy demeanor, signaling a new chapter in the ongoing saga.
