The opening moments of Episode 7 of Season 2 of "The Wheel Of Time" transport us back through the mists of time. We are reminded of a pivotal juncture when Siuan Sanche and Moiraine stood poised on the brink of departing their stations at the esteemed White Tower. Meanwhile, Gitara catches a glimpse of prophecy, alerting the duo that the dragon reborn has once again emerged into the world, urging them to seek him out.
Switching to the present narrative thread, Siuan Sanche seeks a private conference with Moiraine. Prior scenes revealed her journey to Cairhien. Now, she inquisitively presses Moiraine for an explanation regarding her silence on the matter of the dragon's rebirth. Soon after, Siuan reveals her intentions to alleviate the burden Moiraine has been bearing alone.
Not long afterward, Rand is summoned by the Amerlyn Seat. She concludes that Rand's abilities and understanding have remained static since Moiraine first discovered him. Subsequently, she pronounces that the Aes Sedai shall instruct him while keeping him confined within the confines of the White Tower.
Elsewhere, the Damane dare Egwene to showcase her talents in their presence. Renna warns her not to falter this time, cautioning that failure would spell dire consequences. Egwene finds herself with no alternative but to comply, and the demonstration of her prowess is nothing short of breathtaking.
In parallel, Nynaeve and Elayne venture to the Ogier to confer with him. He informs them of Perrin's successful escape and his present safety. He then begins to unfold the harrowing plight that Egwene finds herself in. Nynaeve reassures him that they will first come to Egwene's aid and subsequently lend their support to him as well.
On a separate front, Lanfear makes an appearance, beckoning Mat to join her. With this done, she ushers him along. Ishamael engages in discourse with Mat, culminating in an offer of an extraordinary tea, informing him that consumption will reveal his past lives to him.
Shortly thereafter, Mat is observed sipping the tea, his brow furrowed in contemplation as he grapples with uncovering his true self. His demeanor soon shifts to one of peculiarity. Meanwhile, in the midst of traversing the desolate sands, Perrin catches sight of a woman and alerts Aviendha to his discovery. The two Aiel warriors, also cherished friends of Aviendha and fellow community members, relay the heartbreaking news of a mutual friend's demise. In response, Aviendha requests that two women subject her to grueling torment. Later, she elucidates to Perrin that this act stems from a deeply ingrained tradition, delving into its origins.
Switching scenes to Barthanes, Liandrin Sedai is paying him a visit. He requests his mother, Anvaere, to step away, seeking privacy for his conversation with the Dark Ajah. Suspecting foul play, Anvaere eavesdrops intentionally and discovers her son's allegiance to the Darkfriends. Liandrin has tasked him with eliminating Moiraine, following orders imparted by her. Alarmed, Anvaere confines him to a room and informs the Queen and authorities of his dark collaboration.
Rand finds himself shielded from the One Power's forces by Siuan Sanche, who intends to expose the White Tower's undue influence over him. Consequently, Rand faces immediate challenges in rescuing Egwene from Ishmael's clutches. Desperate, he seeks Lanfear's assistance to depart the White Tower and reach Falme.
Lan visits Logain, grilling him about Moiraine's inability to channel and the gravity of the situation. Teasing with the key to his freedom, Lan prompts Logain to disclose that despite an obstacle, Moiraine retains the potential to wield the One Power.
Elsewhere, Nynaeve and Elayne devise a strategy to extricate Egwene from Seanchan captivity. They place the a’dam, gifted by Ryma, around a sul’dam's neck, granting them control over her and access to the prison. Verin removes Rand's barrier to the One Power, aiding Moiraine and Lan. Together, Rand, Lan, and Moiraine attempt to flee the White Tower. During their journey, Lan enlightens Moiraine about the flaw in her weaving and assists Rand in unraveling it, enabling Moiraine to channel the One Power once more.
In the episode's climax, Moiraine, empowered by the One Power, opens the Waygate. However, Siuan Sanche arrives and commands her to close it, departing promptly. Lanfear then appears, assaulting Siuan Sanche and threatening Moiraine. Rand intervenes to halt her, allowing Lan and him to pass through the Waygate. Moiraine hesitates, torn between leaving Siuan and duty, but ultimately follows suit.
