Episode 2 of The Witcher's second season commences with Yennefer and Fringilla captured by an entire legion of elves. Their captors, a formidable group, escort them to an Elder. Amidst the elven dialect, Yennefer cleverly claims to be an elf herself, but her ruse is swiftly exposed. The elves debate fiercely over her fate, ultimately deciding to imprison her alongside Fliavandrel, the bardic King of Elves who, after falling to Calanthe, relinquished his throne to Francesca.

Now, both elves and sorceresses alike are plagued by dreams of a mysterious robed figure. Yennefer's visions, however, are distinct, depicting a man cloaked in crimson, rather than the customary black. Their shared nightmares pique the curiosity of Francesca and Filavandrel, prompting them to inquire about the content of these dreams.

The trio is led to a hut devoid of doors, a cryptic allusion to an ancient prophecy inscribed on a tombstone. As the hut transforms, revealing two vibrant orange windows, they are plunged into visions. Francesca is forewarned that the world will be reborn through the blood of elves, admonishing her to live among humans. Fringilla is cunningly maneuvered into seeking allies, while Yennefer's vision mocks her mastery of magic, taunting her with her perceived ineptitude.

Meanwhile, Ciri and Geralt arrive at Kaer Morhen, where Vesemir warmly welcomes them. The witchers toast to another winter spent together, their camaraderie打断a stark contrast to the turmoil outside. Eskel, a battle-scarred witcher, arrives belatedly, bearing the remnants of a Leshy's severed limb. He recounts an epic six-hour battle, where only fire to the heart could vanquish the creatures, and he emerged victorious.

Alone, Yesemir confides in Geralt about Ciri and the Law of Surprise, revealing that he brought her to Kaer Morhen to unravel her identity and safeguard her. He warns Geralt that Ciri might be more than he bargained for, her thirst for vengeance a constant reminder of the perils ahead. However, Geralt reminds her that they only take lives to save others, a principle that will guide them through the storms of the future.

That fateful night, a stir resonated throughout the hallowed grounds of Kaer Morhen. With Cirilla safely tucked away in her chamber, Geralt and the other Witchers embarked on a quest to uncover the mysterious creature lurking in the shadows. As if fate had whispered its secrets in advance, they encountered what seemed to be the Leshy... yet it was not.

The figure revealed itself as Eskel, transformed by an unknown malady. His strength was unrelenting as he overpowered Geralt and pressed him to the ground. Just as the killing blow was imminent, Yesemir emerged from the shadows, saving Geralt from imminent peril. The duo eventually prevailed over Eskel, yet the encounter left both of them shaken.

Meanwhile, the visions that had plagued our trio coalesced into a newfound path. Francesca believed that the ancient gods desired a union between the elves and Nilfgaard, and Fringilla, trusting in her faith, vowed to follow her lead. However, Yennefer scoffed at their notions, convinced that they were mere fools. She, on the other hand, found herself more adrift than ever, screaming into the abyss of the heavens.

As she vented her despair, our gaze shifted once more to Geralt. He handed a sword to Ciri, embarking on a journey to teach her the art of the Witcher.
