Episode 2 of The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window kicks off with Anna ascending the stairs to the attic, her gaze wandering over a trove of nostalgic art supplies. Her ultimate target, a light green pen, beckons, but it's merely a pretext. Its real purpose is to serve as a bridge to Emma's house and, in turn, an opportunity to reconnect with Neil, whom she's eager to rekindle her conversation with.
However, as she nears Neil's doorstep, Anna's path unexpectedly aligns with Lisa, the air hostess and Neil's girlfriend. Witnessing their affectionate embrace and the subsequent "happy family" hug with Emma, Anna's heart sinks, and she retreats back home.
Unfortunately, her wine supply has dwindled, so Anna heads to the supermarket for a refill. Hiding around a corner, she overhears Carol gossiping about her, exposing Anna's drinking habit and divulging Neil's current relationship status. Even worse, Carol accuses Anna of relentlessly pursuing Neil. This revelation adds to Anna's already mounting stress.
Amidst these turmoil, Anna finds herself consumed with thoughts of Lisa. She delves into Lisa's social media profile, discovering a mysterious figure named "Sexy Rexy" who lavishly likes all of Lisa's photos with fire and eggplant emojis. Intrigued, Anna resolves to uncover the mystery behind this alias. She signs up on Instagram, adopting the moniker "verysexyanna" as a bait to lure Rexy into accepting her friend request. Her plan works flawlessly.
Scrolling through Rexy's photos, Anna stumbles upon a revealing snapshot of Rexy seated beside Lisa, with Lisa affectionately kissing his neck. The plot deepens further.
That night, Anna peers out the window and catches a glimpse of Lisa clutching her neck in agony. Bloodied and distraught, Lisa collapses on the ground. Without hesitation, Anna dials the police but, hampered by her fear of rain, she is unable to reach Lisa's house before she herself succumbs to the elements, collapsing unconscious on the pavement outside.
