The WONDERfools – K-drama Episode 2 1

Jeon-bok inspects Chae-ni's room and discovers a letter addressed to her. Meanwhile, at the police station, Un-jeong deduces that Ro-bin and Gyeon-un are being untruthful and declines to file an FIR against them.

Later, Ro-bin and Gyeon-un visit Chae-ni at the hospital, where they engage in a conversation about her near-death experience. Chae-ni warns both men not to mention the fake kidnapping saga in front of Jeon-bok, fearing her grandmother's reaction. To their surprise, Jeon-bok overhears the discussion from outside the room. Chae-ni hastily hides inside a closet but ends up at a period drama filming location. Jeon-bok searches for her but fails to locate her within the closet. Soon afterward, Chae-ni reappears in the closet, panicking as Jeon-bok tries to reassure her.

Simultaneously, the old man kidnapped by the religious cult begins to hallucinate. He recalls his days as a security guard at a research center where children were subjected to experiments. He recounts saving a young boy, Patient Number 3972, from a fire and claims that the boy has grown into an adult and returned to Haeseong.

A flashback reveals that orphan children were brought to Hawondo Lab for the Wunderkid Project, where they were injected with a chemical that endowed them with superpowers. In the present day, Un-jeong awakens from a nightmare rooted in his childhood. It's revealed that he himself is Patient Number 3972. Un-jeong ponders if Chae-ni was also one of the patients involved in the experiment.

At the hospital, Jeon-bok notices that Chae-ni's feet are no longer plagued by the blood clots she had earlier. She requests the doctor to review Chae-ni's reports and is shocked to learn that her granddaughter has fully recovered. Jeon-bok returns home and calls Choi Yeon-jun, the former director of Hawondo Lab, which now operates the religious cult, to discuss Chae-ni's condition.

That night, Ro-bin and Gyeon-un engage in an argument that leaves Ro-bin frustrated. He throws something at the wall in anger and inadvertently creates a hole. Elsewhere, Gyeon-un suddenly finds himself stuck to the refrigerator while speaking with his wife and wonders what's happening to him.

The next day, Jeon-bok informs Chae-ni that she is fully recovered and urges her to embark on a journey to explore the world and savor life's bounties. However, she stipulates that Chae-ni must first earn the privilege of traveling by accumulating merit points before obtaining her passport. As Jeon-bok steps out to attend a call from Director Choi, Chae-ni and Ro-bin grapple with their newly discovered abilities.

Un-jeong arrives, confronts Chae-ni about the previous night's events, and enquires if they have any knowledge of the "Wunderkinder." Chae-ni and Ro-bin physically repel Un-jeong, but soon realize they've left the camcorder and Chae-ni's suitcase at the greenhouse. Chae-ni dashes to retrieve them, unaware that Un-jeong is stealthily following her. Believing Chae-ni might be immortal, he decides to test his theory by attempting to terminate her. Chae-ni catches sight of him chasing her and swiftly flees.

The duo eventually reaches the greenhouse, where a scrap dealer is rummaging through the camcorder. Un-jeong watches the ransom video and witnesses footage of Chae-ni's demise. He purchases the camcorder from the dealer and orders him to leave.

Gyeon-un arrives at the greenhouse in search of the device and witnesses Un-jeong unleash his powers, decimating the entire greenhouse while Chae-ni is trapped inside. As the greenhouse is about to cave in on her, Chae-ni suddenly teleports onto a boat near China without realizing what has transpired.

Simultaneously, Gyeon-un's hands become attached to the steering wheel of his car. His wife calls him, and his panic causes the phone to adhere to his other hand as well. Frustrated, he lashes out at her, causing both objects to instantly detach from him. Elsewhere, Kim Pal-ho from the religious cult witnesses Un-jeong's destruction of the greenhouse and recognizes him as Patient 3972. At the same time, Junmo notices that Chae-ni's location indicates China and starts to ponder if she can teleport.

On the boat, Chae-ni suddenly finds herself precariously close to being shot. The episode concludes with Dr. Ha Won-do visiting Director Choi, his former employee, and brutally killing him.
