Episode 7 of THEM: The Scare opens with Athena and Dawn frantically attempting to soothe a terrified Kel. Edmund, Dawn's twin brother, was adopted by Athena and her husband, Will. But he was prone to tantrums, and on the day Athena went out with Dawn, Edmund was discovered near Will's lifeless body. She apologizes, claiming ignorance of Ms. Mott's true nature, and tries to fight back. But the confrontation ends swiftly and brutally, with Edmund decapitating her.
The police inform Dawn of the tragedy, and she rushes to the scene with Kel. The sight of Athena's headless body in the store leaves her dazed and stunned. She collapses in despair, the final scene of THEM: The Scare Episode 7 leaving the audience reeling from the horror and tragedy that has unfolded.
