To My Beloved Thief – K-drama Episode 7 1

Eun-jo, unwilling to part ways with Yi-yeol again, as they did when they first switched bodies, stays put and waits for him. Yi-yeol, relieved to see Eun-jo safe and sound, rushes to hug her. He asks her about the mysterious man but Eun-jo chooses to lie, saying he was just a bandit.

Meanwhile, the man reports back to his leader that Eun-jo has turned them down and did not kill the Chief Censor. The leader decides to meet Eun-jo herself.

Jae-I, following the hoofprints, catches up to Yi-yeol. The prince figures out that Secretary Im was the one who ordered his arrest. He asks Eun-jo about the source of the ledger she had given him that led to the Chief Censor's punishment.

Upon learning that the Chief Censor wanted to burn the ledger but that it somehow ended up in Eun-jo's possession, he understands the reason for his arrest. With a plan in mind, he allows Jae-I to arrest him after making Eun-jo promise not to let anyone else arrest her.

The following day, Hae-rim learns about Yi-yeol's arrest from her older brother. She doesn't wait for Jin-won to finish the story of her ex-fiancé arresting her current love interest. She hurriedly takes off running to the state tribunal.

Kok-sim tries to bribe one of the guards to give Hae-rim a chance to see the prince when Jae-I suddenly appears. She pulls him aside to ask about Prince Yi-yeol, who was already on his way to the palace. Realizing Hae-rim's unspoken feelings for Prince Yi-yeol, Jae-I tells her that he supports them.

This encounter adds depth and emotion to the storyline, furthering the characters' relationships and revealing their true feelings for each other. The episode's pacing and dialogue keep the audience engaged and invested in the characters' well-being and their eventual reunion.

Meanwhile, Secretary Im arrives at the palace with a sense of triumph, pleased to see that Seung-jae had made arrangements through Eun-jo's brother to coerce His Majesty into convicting Prince Yi-yeol. However, to his surprise, their meticulous planning falls apart quickly when he finds Prince Yi-yeol waiting for him. Unbeknownst to Secretary Im, His Majesty and Prince Yi-yeol had made a pact during the Gyeongo year incident, which protected him from any further trouble. All their plotting proves futile, forcing him to agree never to investigate Gil-dong, while Prince Yi-yeol also agrees to stop making assumptions about the ledger.

Following the arrest, Secretary Im receives a stern scolding from His Majesty. He is warned never to make a move against Prince Yi-yeol without His Majesty's direct command. The outcome goes against him, so he asks Seung-jae to halt everything until the drugging of His Majesty takes effect and they gain control over him.

Meanwhile, Eun-jo is on the verge of turning herself in to save Prince Yi-yeol, but he arrives just in time to stop her. Yi-yeol takes her to the barley field, where they update each other on the crucial details that happened when they switched bodies.

Yi-yeol hands Eun-jo a latch to lock her door at night to protect her from the "wolves." She tries to apologize, but Yi-yeol insists that he should be the one apologizing for involving her in the messy palace politics related to the Grand Prince.

Elsewhere, Hong Min-jik is rushing back home. Eun-jo is a bit disappointed that Prince Yi-yeol does not bring up the promise he made to her when they were switched, saying he would relentlessly pursue her. Meanwhile, Jae-I insists on investigating Prince Yi-yeol's connection to Gil-dong despite Secretary Im's warning to stand down. He feels that the case would destroy either Secretary Im or Yi-yeol, which is a favorable outcome for him. It would be even better if it destroyed both of them.

At the palace, Prince Yi-yeol implores the Queen Dowager not to penalize Jae-I for arresting him, as he is aware that his actions were under the direction of Secretary Im and that he should instead pursue his father. Simultaneously, a plague breaks out in the capital, while the Queen Consort discusses with Hae-rim's brother the possibility of canceling the engagement with Secretary Im's family. In parallel, the police bureau excavates Gil-dong's grave and discovers it to be empty. Dae-chu deduces that Eun-jo is the true identity of Gil-dong.

Jae-I had braced himself for Prince Yi-yeol's retaliation after his release, but when it did not come, he confronted him, demanding to know what was planned for him. Prince Yi-yeol insists that he will not punish the son for the father's sins. Jae-I tries to remind Yi-yeol that Eun-jo is a married woman and will bear the stigma of being toyed with by the royal family. However, Yi-yeol counters that his family married her off to a dying man, which is a form of toying with someone. Their decision must be reversed.

Meanwhile, Hae-rim disguises himself as a physician to assist in the plague relief efforts at the Hyemiseo. Eun-jo recalls their encounter when she was the grand prince, and after sharing their experiences, they become fast friends.

At Secretary Im's residence, he learns about the engagement's annulment. In a fit of rage, Secretary Im beats Jae-I and locks him in the shed for going against his plans. Eun-jo prepares medicine and sends it to Jae-I, but when he learns the next morning that she had made it, he confronts her and smashes the fresh pot she is brewing for him. He warns her not to make him care about his damn family.

Later, His Majesty and Secretary Im leave for a hunting trip. At the same time, Min-jik returns home. At Secretary Im's house, Seung-jae attacks Eun-jo as soon as his father leaves. She fights back when he insults her father. Seung-jae almost attacks her with a hot chisel, but Yi-yeol, who had earlier realized Eun-jo might be in danger after Secretary Im left, arrives just in time to frighten Seung-jae away.

At the end of the episode, Prince Yi-yeol hands Eun-jo a marriage proposal letter as his declaration of war. He is determined to face the long fight they will have to wage against old customs and the status gap. He wishes to marry her because it is the only way he can save her from Secretary Im's family. He extends his hand to her, but before she can respond, Jae-I bursts in and stops her, stating that she can only leave their house in death.
