Tokyo Vice – Season 1 Episode 4 1

Embarking on a covert mission, Emi and Jake visit the house in Machiya, where they uncover the address of the sinister company that harassed Hyeon-suk before her death. Jake poses as a desperate housewife seeking a loan, skillfully maneuvering their way into the company's clutches to procure a contractual agreement. Upon examination, they uncover a damning clause that mandates insurance payouts to the loan company in the event of a suicide—a sinister scheme that sheds light on the underworld of Tokyo's criminal underbelly.

Kyoshi Sonodo, whose name adorns the company's CEO position, is in reality a vegetable, devoid of the ability to function like a mortal soul. Samantha's revelation about Matso's true identity was nothing short of a shock. He had been stalking her, driven by a dark secret from her past—the theft of someone's hard-earned money. Now, he demanded repayment, leaving her fleeing from the dinner table, heart palpitating with dread.

Meanwhile, Sato and Jake embarked on a nocturnal escapade. They frequented a nightclub, indulged in the company of women, and shared a sumptuous meal. Samantha's annoyance towards Malee was palpable, but Polina sensed a deeper turmoil, one that Samantha chose not to reveal.

Emi's investigation into the murder of a young girl continued with unwavering determination. The confession's intricate details left her with a lingering suspicion of foul play, involving both the police and the Yakuza. Her boss, recognizing her intuition, urged her to trust her instincts as she lingered late in the office.

The restaurant where Sato and Jake dined also hosted Tozawa. As he exited, Jake's remark about his watch led to a brief exchange of words and the exchange of a card. With a nod and a smile, Tozawa strode out, leaving the two men in his wake. And as the episode drew to a close, Samantha was left pondering over Matsu's cryptic words: "Choose the right path."
