In the sixth episode of Tokyo Vice, Samantha's past shadows loom large, threatening to shatter her fragile present. As she ponders her next strategic move, Jake unexpectedly appears at her door. He offers a heartfelt apology for his angry outburst the previous night. Samantha graciously accepts his apology but briskly dismisses him when he reminds her of Sato's dangerous line of work and urges her to be vigilant.

Following Tozawa's unprovoked assault on Ishida, Sato, now elevated in the yakuza hierarchy, seeks revenge against Tozawa. He seeks out a mechanic involved in smuggling contraband into Tokyo and verifies that a shipment of methamphetamine will arrive the following day.

Meanwhile, Jake is on the hunt for a new story. Browsing through yakuza magazines, his eyes are drawn to a familiar name, Ukai Haruki, who frequently profiles Tozawa. Jake deduces that Ukai is Tozawa's publicist and devises a plan to gather more information by posing as a devoted fan. Easily charmed by Jake, Ukai divulges details about Tozawa's string of girlfriends, revealing that one of them mysteriously vanished after speaking to the press. Intrigued, Jake trails Tozawa's current girlfriend.

At the yakuza council meeting, Tozawa offers Ishida a hundred million yen in compensation. However, Ishida refuses the full amount, insisting that Tozawa beg for forgiveness on his knees. Humiliated and desperate, Tozawa has no choice but to comply. Similarly, Samantha confronts a fateful encounter with Matsu, who reveals that he was hired not by the church, but by Samantha's own father. This revelation only adds to her mounting anxiety. With little choice, she reluctantly agrees to endure ten "sessions" with him in order to make him go away.

Chairman Nakahara of the Council is unexpectedly revealed to have some involvement in Tozawa's sinister schemes. He issues Tozawa an ultimatum, warning him to steer clear of further blunders. Sato, Kobayashi, and Ishida huddle over the shipment details, Kobayashi advocating caution, Sato concurring. Ishida pulls Sato aside for a personal discussion, offering him comfort after his first devastating encounter with violence. However, Sato has a more strategic approach in mind.

They approach Jake and entrust him with the crucial information. In a tense exchange, Tozawa confronts Misaki, acknowledging her lack of affection for him and threatening her with death if she betrays him. Jake makes his way to Hiroto's abode, delivering the news. Hiroto advocates for a more thorough investigation rather than a hasty decision.

Amidst Polina's reluctance, Akira and Polina commemorate their three-month milestone with a festive celebration. Samantha divulges to Sato about Matsu's request, igniting Sato's anger. Jake visits Emi at her abode, encountering her brother, Kei, who greets him with hostility. Emi deftly handles the situation, advising Jake to seek authorization from another officer and cautioning him against revealing Kei's identity at the precinct.

The following morning, Jake approaches Miyamoto, convincing him to conduct a search. At the airport, the police come up empty-handed, prompting Miyamoto to lash out at Jake, vowing that no officer would ever entertain him again. Hiroto arrives on the scene, scolding Jake for disregarding his advice. Sato confronts Matsu, warning him off Samantha, but in a fit of rage, Sato mercilessly eliminates Matsu.

Despite the absence of drugs, Baku coerces Jake into writing a damning report about the police's bungled operation. When Jake protests, Eimi furiously commands him to write it. Inside the Onyx, Sato confesses to Samantha that he killed Matsu. Suddenly, Jake strides in, accusing Sato of sabotaging his career with a false tip. The truth dawns: the drugs weren't missed; Miyamoto, who works for Tozawa, was. Miyamoto betrays Jake by disclosing his identity to Tozawa, plunging Jake into a dire situation.
