However, he remains unmoved by Jake's persistent pleas.

Tokyo Vice – Season 1 Episode 7 1

Ishida sternly admonishes his men against violating the tenuous peace treaty signed with Tozawa. Meanwhile, Eimi attends a police press conference where the capture of the murderer of young Kaori Shoda is announced. Miyamoto emerges as a hero for apprehending Shoda's killer, but Eimi senses a deeper, more sinister conspiracy lurking beneath the surface. She delves deeper into the investigation with determination.

Miyamoto learns of Hiroto's elaborate preparations to apprehend Tozawa. He is informed that Hiroto possesses irrefutable evidence to incriminate the crime boss. Samantha's heart skips a beat over Polina's safety, and she urgently begs Sato to intervene.

Jake, dispatched by Eimi to verify her findings on the Shoda case, crosses paths with an old friend from Missouri, Dave Fisch. They engage in a lively conversation, reminiscing about the past and making plans to reunite later in the night. Miyamoto eagerly attempts to delve into Hiroto's investigation, longing to glimpse the evidence he has gathered. However, Hiroto remains steadfast, declaring that the evidence is locked away in the basement and will remain undisclosed until Tozawa is brought to justice.

As a new chapter in the story unfolds, we delve into Sato's personal life. He receives a distressing call from his brother, informing him of his father's heart attack. Despite his haste, Sato's mother turns him away, ashamed of his association with the Yakuza. Meanwhile, Tozawa prepares for his birthday festivities, injecting himself once again with medication to ease his ailment. During the celebrations, Miyamoto makes an appearance, updating Tozawa on Hiroto's imminent arrest plans. Tozawa orders him to uncover the specifics and report back, threatening to expose his secrets if he dares to disobey.

Jake escorts Dave to a pulsating nightclub, where his eyes chance upon Misaki, unattended by her usual bodyguards. The two strike up a lively dance, soon leaving the club's lights and music behind for a cozy dinner at a nearby restaurant. Meanwhile, Sato and Samantha make their way to Akira's workplace, where he's forced to reveal the details of Polina's whereabouts under Sato's stern interrogation. Akira admits that Polina's debt was immense, and to repay it, she was sent to the remote locale of Koshina. Samantha urges Sato to delve deeper, pressuring the manager of the establishment for more information. However, Sato's eyes catch a glimpse of Tozawa's men in the shadows of the club, and he decides to make a hasty exit, sensing the impending danger.

A heated argument ensues between Samantha and Sato, each accusing the other of not pulling their weight. As Misaki enjoys her dinner with Jake, unaware of the turmoil around her, Tozawa's men descend upon the restaurant, intent on capturing her. Back at his lavish birthday bash, Tozawa suddenly collapses, likely the aftermath of the medication's effects wearing off.

Jake flips through the morning paper, seeking Eimi's article on Shoda, and finds it tucked away on the second-to-last page. He makes his way to Eimi's abode, where they both vent their frustration over the newspaper's skewed priorities. In the closing moments of the episode, Samantha finds her way to Jake's apartment, seeking his assistance in Polina's matter. Miyamoto, acting on Tozawa's instructions, breaks into the basement locker room, only to discover an empty box labeled "Case Files." Little does he know, a camera captures his every move, and Hiroto watches the unfolding scene with satisfaction, his trap having been successful.
