As the sun peeks through the curtains of a hangover-induced dawn, a woman stumbles out of a night of revelry, her voice a muffled call for a friend's whereabouts in the haze of her memory. There's no response, and as her gaze roams around the room, she spots a faint stain of blood on her dress. Despite her initial instinct to dial 911, she hesitates, her hand hovering over the phone's surface like a butterfly perched on a fragile leaf.

In Northern California, Colter (Justin Hartley), is on the go when Randy (Chris Lee) calls, urgently requesting his presence in Reno. The duo meets at the Casa D'Oro casino, where Randy spills the beans about Megan (Khamisa Wilsher), his ex, who needs Colter's aid. Randy is unwavering in his devotion to Megan, declaring her "the one."
Ascending the hotel stairs with Colter in tow, Megan explains that her BFF Sonya never returned to their room after they hit the town. Worried and disoriented, Megan can't quite recall much from the previous night. Randy suspects they were roofied, while Colter wonders why Sonya's phone is found in the room without her. Megan muses that she might have Sonya's purse since Sonya often asked her to hold it for her. She wakes up with a splitting headache and blood on her dress and knuckles, but has no idea where it came from.
They trace their steps back to the last club they remember visiting, where an unsympathetic employee insists Megan needs to leave. He recounts how he ejected them last night after Sonya threw a bottle at a customer. The club employee hasn't seen them since and refuses to budge on letting them access the security footage.
Randy and Colter, however, aren't ones to be thwarted easily. They swiftly hack into the club's security system and witness Megan's ex-boyfriend Troy staring at Megan and Sonya. They see Sonya confronting him before they leave the club amidst an intense altercation. Colter harbors a hunch that Troy might have played a role in Sonya's disappearance.
Bobby (Eric Graise), Colter's tech savvy companion, conducts a quick investigation and discovers that Troy was previously convicted of assault and possession. It's plausible that Troy drugged Megan and then did something to Sonya. Bobby utilizes Troy's car's GPS to track him and sends Colter a pin of its location.
Colter advises Randy to take Megan to the hospital for a check-up while he heads to Troy's car's location. There, he hears banging from the trunk, revealing that the man inside is a stripper named Ricky the Stallion. Troy had kidnapped him thinking Ricky was hitting on Megan, but he was mistaken. Ricky had only invited Megan and Sonya to his show at the Golden Fox.
Colter makes the Golden Fox his next destination for clues, arriving during auditions. The woman in character, Marlene, hopes he's there to show off his pole-dancing skills, but he disappoints her expectations by asking if she recognizes photos of Sonya, Megan, and Troy. She does and reveals that Troy was harassing Sonya and Megan before some guys from the VIP lounge took care of him.
Marlene recalls vividly the moment when Megan's gown was marred with blood after her sudden punch on Troy. Despite this incident, Megan and Sonya appeared unscathed, departing with the very men who had vanquished Troy. Sonya inquired of Marlene about a suitable wedding venue, to which Marlene pointed her towards the Lucky Love wedding chapel.
Randy encounters Troy at the hospital, where he finds the latter with a shattered nose and various other injuries. Randy's fury boils over upon learning that Troy had drugged Megan and possibly Sonya, only for Troy to claim complete innocence in both matters. He does, however, confess to being pounced upon by Megan and then beaten up by others. Troy suspects that these men had abducted Sonya.
A brief scene portrays Sonya pleading with her captor, promising silence in exchange for her freedom.
The wedding chapel's proprietor greets Colter, Megan, and Randy, recognizing Megan from the previous evening's events. Megan, however, is oblivious to these memories due to her being drugged. (The flowers in Megan's hotel room match those used at the chapel.) The chapel employee explains that while Megan tried to dissuade Sonya from the wedding, the latter was determined to proceed with her nuptials.
The employee shows them a video from the wedding ceremony, revealing that the groom had drugged Megan and possibly Sonya. Colter also notices that the groom was seen carrying a gun in the footage. Remembering Sonya's insistence on returning to the hotel with Megan to recover, they obtain a copy of the marriage certificate. Bobby conducts some swift research, revealing that the groom is Peter Bronwen, who runs a real estate business in America alongside his brother, Nicholas, both British. The business has received numerous complaints and was investigated in the UK for murder. They were currently on vacation in Reno, renting a short-term residence in the foothills.
Randy convinces Colter to accompany him to the vacation rental, proving his decision to tag along wise when he hacks into their security cameras. Though disappointed when Colter insists he remain in the car, Randy boasts of his judo skills, which Colter merely chucks up as a jest.
As a man steps outdoors, Colter seizes the opportunity to enter while the door is still ajar. He slinks around, makes his way upstairs, and hears muffled screams leading him to Peter, tied up in a closet. Upon being freed, Peter reveals that his brother had ordered one of his men to take Sonya away for elimination as she had witnessed something she shouldn't have.
Randy is spotted by one of Nicholas's men in his car and brought into the house at gunpoint. Despite trying to lie his way out of the situation, a photo of Megan and Sonya on his laptop gives away his true intention: to find Sonya. Nicholas goes looking for Peter and discovers he's been released. Peter surprises his brother by holding him at gunpoint, reminding him that he knows nothing about his new wife. Peter insists they had a connection, which Nicholas reveals was revealed by Sonya walking in on a business meeting that went south and ended with Nicholas killing the man he was meeting with.
As Nicholas claimed to be protecting their family, Peter relinquished the gun with a heavy heart. Peter then revealed that a stranger had found him in the closet and set him free, suggesting that his brother should let Sonya go as the stranger would not stop searching for her. Nicholas feigned agreement but then swiftly knocked Peter unconscious.
Colter emerged outside and realized Randy was missing. Just then, Randy ran up, urgently urging Colter to flee. Colter filled him in on the reason behind Sonya's abduction and admitted that they had no choice but to trust Peter's words.
As night fell, Randy and Colter arrived at the location Peter had described. A gunshot rang out, and they spotted a dead body and the miraculously alive Sonya. Randy picked her up, and she was frantic about Megan. Randy assured her that Megan was safe.
As they returned to the car, Sonya told them everything that had happened. She had seen Nicholas shoot a man and had screamed for help. They had tied her up in a closet, but Peter had stopped them from shooting her. Instead, Nicholas's henchman had taken her out to the woods. Sonya had distracted him with her flirtatious charm, and in the ensuing fight, his gun went off, killing him.
Randy and Colter took Sonya back to her hotel, where Nicholas and his men were already holding Megan at gunpoint. Colter tried to calm the situation, but Nicholas ordered his men to shoot them all. Colter gave Randy the signal, and Randy caused a distraction. Colter took out a few of the men as Sonya and Megan engaged another. Randy also put his fighting skills to good use, which we honestly had doubted he possessed. The fight almost ended with Randy being shot by Nicholas, but Colter shot him before he could pull the trigger.
The police picked up Peter and Nicholas, and Velma reported that the cops had been after the brothers for quite some time.
Randy and Megan had a heart-to-heart conversation, and Randy admitted that he had messed up the last time they were together. He vowed never to do that again and hoped they could take things slow this time. Megan agreed and suggested they meet later for a date. Randy couldn't stop smiling.
Colter was playing roulette when Randy joined him with the good news about their potential relationship. Colter believed in creating one's own luck and that things had a way of working themselves out. Randy wondered if Colter had someone like Megan in his life, but Colter wouldn't admit it.
