In the fourth episode of Tulsa King, Armando finally receives a visit from Dwight, moments after his wife and children depart. Knowing she'll return soon, Armando desperately begs his former boss for release. The confusion stemmed from Armando's assumption that Dwight had come to Tulsa with the intention of harming him, unable to fathom any other reason for his presence. Manny, meanwhile, harbors some insider knowledge about the Boise incident that led to Dwight's imprisonment. Pete, Dwight's brother, had falsely accused him of flipping, a notion Dwight vehemently denied. Now indebted to Dwight, Armando reluctantly returns to his service.

Tulsa King – Season 1 Episode 4 1

Dwight ventures into the city to have new suits tailored, entrusting his ring to Tyson, who doubles as part of his security detail. With everything arranged, the plan to sell balloons at the fair that night is set in motion. Mitch secures the nitrous, and Dwight appoints Bohdi, his friends, and Tyson to oversee the sales. Little do they know, the Black Macadam, the local biker gang introduced in the previous episode, also operates in their territory. When confronted, the bikers simply stake their claim to the stall, backing down without a fight.

Manny's wife urges her husband to leave their current locale, fearing that Dwight's return has reignited their past troubles. She had hoped they'd left Manny's New York past behind, but now, with Dwight's resurgence, they feel unsafe. Waltrip, enraged by his men's concession, orders them to retrieve the territory by force. Manny attempts to settle his weekly debt to Dwight with an old antique, but the offer falls flat. Tyson's father, Mark, is deeply concerned upon seeing the ring Dwight had given his son. The family is impressed, yet the old man knows the troubles his son is embarking on.

Dwight attempts to reach out to his sister, Joanne, hoping she can convince Tina to speak with him. However, she refuses and reveals that their brother, Joe, has been diagnosed with lymphoma. Waltrip's men obediently carry out their boss's orders, brutally beating Dwight's men. Tyson sustains severe injuries, and Mark is devastated upon seeing his son's condition. He laments Tyson's lack of appreciation for the sacrifices his parents have made for him. Dwight vows to reclaim the tanks and money taken by Waltrip's men. Meanwhile, Stacy meets a stranger named Colton at a bar, encouraged by her work friend to socialize more. This encounter parallels Dwight and his gang's quest for revenge against the Macadam. Mark joins the fray, tracking Tyson's location through GPS.

Dwight arrived, laden with a sackful of bats, and yet, despite being outmatched, they emerged victorious, reclaiming their hard-earned money. United as one, they toasted their triumph with beer, and Dwight graciously rewarded his comrades with the proceeds of their balloon sales. Though battered and bruised, their resilience was their true triumph. Mark presented Tyson with a final chance to return home, leaving him with a difficult decision to ponder.

From the hospital, Joanne's voice quivered over the phone. Their brother Joe, cancer robbing him of his strength, was fading away. Unable to speak, but still listening, Joe's presence was felt. Dwight's voice trembled as he recounted a childhood memory, of a trip to the bakery on Easter to fetch cookies. He whispered, if Joe found God, he should go with him, and that they would meet again in heaven. The emotional call ended with Dwight sinking into his chair, heart shattered.

Manny stumbled upon his neighbor's dog's mess once again. But this time, he seized the shoe he had stepped in, and with renewed vigor, rubbed it in the neighbor's face. This encounter reignited his spirit, and he declared to his wife that they would stay. The following day, Tyson picked up Dwight, and the mentor imparted a wise piece of advice to his young protégé, urging him to "be true to himself" as Tyson pondered the idea of coloring his hair.
