Episode 2 of "Twelve" kicks off with Tae-san nursing a solitary drink, his thoughts drifting back to Geum-soon's poignant words. A flashback transports us to the Joseon era, where Tae-san and Mirr indulge in a joyous shopping spree, their laughter echoing through the bustling market. Suddenly, their joy is interrupted by a scene of distress: a human family is being harassed by ruffians demanding protection money from the vendors. Tae-san, protective of Mirr, urges her to stay put while he confronts the thugs. However, Mirr, unable to contain her compassion, wields her mystical abilities, summoning a fierce wind with a mere wave of her hands. The goons are swiftly dispatched, much to the astonishment of the village folk who witness her supernatural display.

Twelve – K-drama Episode 2 1

That very night, under the cloak of darkness, the vendors disguise their intentions and pay a seemingly grateful visit to Tae-san's family. In a treacherous twist, they drug the unsuspecting family members and plot to eliminate Mirr, convinced she is a malevolent being intent on controlling them with her powers. Fortunately, Tae-san awakens from his stupor in time to rescue Mirr from their clutches. This harrowing ordeal leaves Tae-san disillusioned with humanity, prompting him to isolate his family from human interactions.

Returning to the present narrative, the demons have just awakened O-gwi, and the scene shifts to the high priest of Darkness, who greets the newly awakened demon with open arms. He declares that they have been searching for O-gwi for a millennium. Skeptical, O-gwi seizes the priest by the scruff of his neck, demanding the truth. The priest, Begging for mercy, reveals that he has lost his powers and has braved countless dangers to locate and awaken O-gwi. He now relies on the demon to confront Tae-san and Ma-rok, two formidable adversaries.

Elsewhere, by the serene banks of the Han River, Mal-sook, Do-ni, and Kan-ji prepare for a morning jog. Do-ni, feeling peckish, opts for a quick snack, while Mal-sook and Kan-ji set off on their run. As Do-ni indulges in a bowl of steaming ramyeon, an unexpected spat erupts between him and a curious dog. This encounter reveals Do-ni's unique ability to read minds, even those of animals. Mal-sook and Kan-ji step in to defuse the situation before it escalates, later reminding Do-ni of their imperative to maintain distance from humans, a rule that has become even more crucial in these perilous times.

Meanwhile, O-gwi strolls down the bustling street, acclimating himself to this novel realm. He narrowly misses a chance encounter with Mirr; she senses his presence vaguely but continues about her day undisturbed. Catching sight of her from behind, O-gwi too resumes his walk.

Later that evening, the angels convene for dinner, excluding Tae-san, Mirr, and Ma-rok. The gathering also doubles as a celebration for Bang-wool, whose birthday it technically is. Won-seung teases Bang-wool about her outdated ID, prompting the others to rib him with jokes about his past photographs.

After wrapping up her work, Mirr ducks into a bar for a much-needed drink, where she experiences a vivid vision. She envisions herself entering a cavernous space and spots a figure draped in black. As she inches closer, the man turns to reveal a hideously distorted demon. Sipping her drink thoughtfully, she finds herself approached by two persistent men. She attempts to dismiss them, but they refuse to take the hint. Wearied by their relentless pestering, she decides to knock them unconscious, settles her tab, and exits the bar.

Concurrently, O-gwi meets with the high priest Samin atop a rooftop. Samin repeats his tale of woe, recounting how he lost his powers while both angels and humans flourished around him. Seeking to exploit O-gwi's abilities, Samin aims to wreak havoc in the human world. Cognizant of the angels' powerless state, he harbors a meticulously crafted plan to accomplish his mission. He enlists O-gwi's aid in locating the three soul stones that Haetae concealed on the fateful day of the battle. Leveraging O-gwi's unique ability to sense Hae-tae’s energy, finding these hidden stones will be a cinch. Once discovered, their energies will nourish the Dragon soul, thereby reviving Haetae's formidable powers. The Dragon soul serves as a conduit for both angelic and demonic forces. In exchange for his assistance, Samin promises to bestow upon O-gwi Haetae's powers, granting him immortality.

Of course, O-gwi is well aware that trusting Samin is akin to playing with fire. He makes it abundantly clear that any betrayal on Samin's part will result in his decapitation. No small amount of pressure, indeed!

The following day, the youthful angels reconvene, indulging in a feast of chicken and laughter, yet amidst their merriment, some express concern over Tae-san's relentless work ethic. Mal-sook fumes with anger, resentment brewing within her as Tae-san had deserted her during his money collection expedition from the car masters. Undoubtedly proficient in his task, Tae-san successfully retrieves the debt but realizes, to his consternation, that he has run out of his antidepressant medication. Swiftly, he schedules an appointment with his physician to replenish his supply, only to doze off while awaiting his prescription.

Elsewhere, Samin issues a stern warning to his fellow demons, commanding them to leave O-gwi unmolested until he assists them in locating the elusive three soul stones. Subsequently, they embark on a mystical ritual, where several demons march into a blazing wall of fire, while Samin remains behind to conclude the ceremony. Intriguingly, as the demons traverse the fiery barrier, the angels' necklaces illuminate with an eerie glow.

Instantaneously, the angels spring into action, contacting one another with urgency. Won-seung, Mal-sook, Gan-ji, Do-ni, and Gwi-dol converge, while Ma-rok informs them of his impending arrival. Regrettably, Mirr misses the alert, engrossed in her work commitments. Won-seung attempts to reach Tae-san, but his efforts are futile as Tae-san lies unconscious in his therapist's office, oblivious to the unfolding drama.

After a brief deliberation, the angels decide to investigate the location, verifying the authenticity of the alert. However, they harbor apprehensions; should the threat prove genuine, the demons would outmatch them, given their current powerless state. The designated location transpires to be Mirr's office building, where the demons ambush her on her way home. Despite her valiant attempts to defend herself, she is swiftly subdued. The arrival of her companions fails to alter the outcome, as they too are overwhelmed by the demons' ferocity. Meanwhile, Samin observes the battle through his ritual bowl with a detached demeanor.

Concurrently, Tae-san arrives at the office, finding it deserted. As he ambles towards his office, his necklace catches his eye, glowing with an unusual intensity. Bang-wool too reveals her glowing necklace to Tae-san, just as Ma-rok arrives at the scene, witnessing the struggling angels attempting to fend off the demons' relentless blows.

The episode concludes on a chilling note, with O-gwi perched atop the rooftop, his eyes transforming into a menacing shade of red, suggesting the climax of an impending confrontation.
