Twelve – K-drama Episode 3 1

In the parking lot of Mirr's office, chaos ensues as the demons gain the upper hand against the angels. Mal-rok wields his sword stick with precision, encasing the demons in a frosty stasis, thereby affording the angels a window of escape. As the angels struggle to rise from their battered states, O-gwi and Samin observe the unfolding drama from separate vantage points, each absorbed in their own thoughts.

Suddenly, one of the demons breaks free from its icy prison and wraps its sinister hands around Mal-rok's neck, initiating a chain reaction as the other demons follow suit. Do-ni, quick-thinking and resourceful, grabs a bike helmet and intervenes, saving Mal-rok from suffocation. Mal-rok attempts to refreeze the demons once more, but they begin to dissipate like morning mist. Before the last demon can vanish into thin air, Mal-rok employs his extraordinary senses to uncover the mastermind behind the attack. To his astonishment, he perceives it to be Samin.

For all that, Mal-rok swiftly masks his shock and urges the angels to depart. Won-seung hesitates, sensing a familiar spirit, but Mal-rok insists, sending him back home.

Back at Taesan Building, Tae-san frantically tries to reach his comrades. They eventually arrive, bearing various injuries, which Bang-wool tends to with skill and compassion. Mal-rok takes Tae-san aside for a private conversation. Meanwhile, in the clinic, the others engage in playful antics with the medical equipment, much to Gwi-dol's peril when he inadvertently consumes the wrong herbs, bringing him to the brink of death.

Later, Tae-san returns with Mal-rok, and Gan-ji inquiries about the location of the malevolent spirits. Her disappointment is palpable when Tae-san asks her to refrain from involvement. Gwi-dol poses questions about the sealed Hellmouth and their powers, while Mal-rok assures him that he will unravel the mystery. Gan-ji attempts to offer her input on how they should expeditiously solve the conundrum, but Tae-san once again interrupts her, prompting a heated exchange between them.

She gently reminds him that aiding humanity is their sacred duty, but Tae-san remains unconvinced. He appends that their endeavors to salvage the human race have only yielded sorrow and anguish. Gan-ji, with unwavering conviction, asserts that they all share the same grief, yet their commitment to their duty cannot waver. Tae-san, steadfast in his refusal, vows never to endure the loss of another loved one.

Later, Mal-rok extends an invitation to Won-seung over drinks, skillfully persuading him to take the initiative and hunt for the demons. He rationalizes that Tae-san's shy nature hinders him from seeking assistance, and as Won-seung stands next in the hierarchy of leadership, the responsibility falls upon his shoulders. Won-seung, swayed by Mal-rok's argument, readily agrees to lend a hand.

Meanwhile, in a secluded corner, Tae-san unlocks a mysterious vault within his sanctuary, embarking on a nostalgic journey through his memories. He reminisces about the heart-wrenching loss of four angels following their valiant battle, until Mal-rok abruptly interrupts with news that Samin, presumed dead, is alive and orchestrating the recent demonic onslaughts. He urges Tae-san to reconsider his stance and intervene to safeguard humanity.

Regrettably, Tae-san remains intractable, insisting that they are powerless and have been forsaken by the divine. He harbors no inclination to sacrifice his kin for the welfare of humans. As he exits, Mal-rok breathes a sigh of relief upon witnessing Mirr's return, rejoining her fellow angels.

Gan-ji, exasperated by Tae-san's indifference, harbors a profound affection for humanity and the fulfillment of their divine mandates. Among all the angels, her dedication stands unparalleled.

Tae-san visits Geum-soon and Man-book, offering them monetary assistance to acquire her cherished tteokbokki stall. Additionally, he presents them with travel tickets, urging them to temporarily relocate abroad for their safety.

Elsewhere, Won-seung endeavors to trace the demons, cleverly manipulating Gwi-dol to procure a tracking device. After persistent attempts, he reaches out to Mal-rok, who fuels his determination with words of encouragement. Mal-rok firmly believes that this task is solely within Won-seung's capabilities.

At his workplace, Mal-rok is summoned to investigate the disappearance of a relics from the museum, adding yet another layer of complexity to his already burdened responsibilities.

Later, Mirr, Gan-ji, Gwi-dol, and Mal-sook make a casual visit to the orphanage, eager to spend some quality time with the children. While there, Mirr experiences a haunting vision—a harrowing glimpse of angels perishing amidst another fierce battle.

Returning to the imposing Taesan building, Geum-soon and Man-bok pay a visit to Tae-san and politely decline his generous offer. Geum-soon harbors a deep-seated trust in Tae-san, believing that he possesses the power to rescue them once more, just as he had saved her mother in the past. Her confidence in him grows stronger as she reminisces about that pivotal moment. Increasingly convinced, she sees Tae-san as the hero they desperately need.

The episode concludes with O-gwi being haunted by Samin’s words about the soul stones. He currently clutches the stolen relic, which we presume to be one of the mystical soul stones. As he holds this ancient artifact, an eerie red light emanates from his chest, casting an ominous glow upon his features.
