Under a Dark Sun – Season 1 Episode 2 1

Meanwhile, trapped inside the oppressive confines of the casket, Alba struggles valiantly to escape, her efforts futile. As despair sets in, she begins to lose consciousness, her mind succumbing to surreal visions. Fortunately, a stranger visiting Arnaud's grave catches a faint sound and, driven by instinct, digs up the casket, rescuing Alba from the brink of death. Though his identity remains concealed for now, it's clear his role in this tale is far from over.

Racing back to Leo's side, Alba's recent ordeal leaves an indelible mark on her psyche. Haunted by her mother's cryptic final words about "not knowing everything," she phones her mother, seeking clarity. Her mother confesses the long-kept secret: Alba was adopted, and sworn to secrecy by her father, who wanted her to believe she was a true part of their family.

Lucie, still reeling from discovering the gun, finds herself increasingly paranoid, her trust in those around her eroding. To compound her woes, she learns that Arnaud was buried under a mountain of debt—an additional 100,000 euros undisclosed, owed to a shadowy organization known as Grasse Horizon. Securing the deal with Omar could rectify their financial woes, but with him refusing to sign, it feels like a distant dream.

Driven by an unyielding determination, Alba breaks into Beatrice's house, sitting menacingly at the dining table, her presence a stark warning to all. She is more resolved than ever to uncover the truth, no matter the cost.

The police soon arrive with a search warrant, reminding Alba that she remains the prime suspect. The lead detective interviews Alba's father, Thierry, who paints a picture of her character, suggesting she possesses the capability for murder. In a stunning revelation, Thierry discloses that Alba has been in this position before—a decade ago, she was suspected in the murder of her junkie boyfriend, Dimitri.

This recap captures the intensity and depth of the narrative, painting a vivid portrait of each character's plight and the intricate web of secrets and deceptions that entangle them.

At the grand estate, the atmosphere grew tense as none of the gathered individuals took kindly to the intrusive search, especially Mathieu, who couldn't resist slinging derogatory remarks at one of the officers in the kitchen. Meanwhile, as the police were preoccupied with interrogating the family members, Manon embarked on her own investigation and uncovered a startling revelation: the Will had been amended six months prior. However, the exact motivation behind Arnaud's decision to alter his Will remained a mystery, except for the fact that Beatrice, who had been informed by their lawyer Jacques, was the only one privy to this change.

Alba, unwittingly stirring up a hornet's nest, found herself face-to-face with the queen hornet herself, Beatrice. Beatrice descended upon Leo with venomous words, figuratively stinging him as she unveiled the truth about Arnaud's demise and incorrectly accused his mother of being the culprit. Clearly, the real perpetrator lurked somewhere among them.

Out in the open fields, Alba was on the brink of uncovering the truth. Noor, one of the workers, confided in her, hinting that she knew the identity of Arnaud's killer. But Noor sought assistance in return for her information, pledging to bare all she knew.

Later, when Alba confronted Beatrice, she found herself clutching an envelope brimming with cash. Inside was a cool 9,000 euros, accompanied by a statement that Beatrice wanted Alba to sign, confessing to murder and relinquishing custody of Leo to her.

Simultaneously, Leo delved into his mother's belongings and stumbled upon a gun hidden in her bag, adding yet another layer of intrigue to the unfolding drama.
