Eight months before her tragic demise, Reena Virk was alive and full of life. Her heart skipped a beat as she spied her beloved pet bird, and she joyfully sat down to share breakfast with her family. From those sunny mornings to the fateful night of her death, Reena's journey was fraught with challenges. Struggling to return home after a violent attack, her every step seemed laden with heaviness.

Meanwhile, at the police station, Cam watched with concern as the young girl struggled to walk. Rebecca sat in detention, listening to Josephine's taunts aimed at the cops. Scott's arrival was a shock to Rebecca, and he informed Josephine that she was free to go. Cam was dismayed that the suspects had been let off, but her brother cautioned her to focus on her job, pointing out that she had raised a false alarm.

Under the Bridge – Season 1 Episode 2 1

Josephine departed with Rebecca, and the writer found herself drawn into a budding relationship with the teenage girl. The girl confessed to shoplifting and revealed that she had a team of accomplices who stole for her. Josephine was about to leave when Rebecca's curiosity got the better of her, wanting to know the secret Josephine had promised to share with her in jail.

Cam's father was upset with her, and while Cam was eager to inform the Virk family of what had transpired, her father was furious over the absence of a body. Rebecca and Josephine sat in a café, with the writer taking notes for her book. Josephine shared her tale of how she ended up at Seven Oaks, revealing that she had been cast out by her mother and her boyfriend. The diner's waiter mentioned his fondness for Rebecca's brother Gabe, and the writer reluctantly confessed the tragic loss of her brother in his childhood.

Reluctant to delve into the pain of her brother's death, Rebecca pressed Josephine for her big secret. Rebecca, who had experienced a troubled childhood herself, listened intently as Josephine began to speak about Reena Virk. She revealed how Reena had sought to ruin her life and denied any friendship between them. Josephine confessed that she had sought to teach Reena a lesson and was willing to show Rebecca what had happened to her if the writer promised to take her to New York and make her the star of her book.

Suman Virk's home continues to be a haven of unsettling phone calls, while Rebecca unexpectedly returns to her childhood nest to find Cam patiently awaiting her arrival. Warmly inviting the police officer inside, Rebecca offers Cam a refreshing drink as they engage in a heartfelt catch-up session, reminiscing about their shared past. Curious about Rebecca's unexpected return home after a decade-long absence, the writer reveals that she's been in discussions with Josephine Bell regarding her book. Josephine, having no one else to turn to, had reached out to Rebecca, pleading for her assistance at the police station.

Cam inquiries if Josephine had divulged any information to Rebecca, but the latter remains tight-lipped, merely hinting at the police's persistent harassment. Rebecca apologizes for keeping Cam in the dark and Cam departs, warning her to steer clear of Josephine Bell.

Eight months prior, in the school locker room, Reena stands vulnerable as her peers mock her appearance. Later, at a store, she's approached by Josephine, who introduces herself and kindly assists Reena in finding the perfect razor. This newfound 'friend' then eggs Reena on to steal the razor. Josephine shares the tragic tale of the Notorious BIG's murder, a story that Reena is unfamiliar with, making the earlier scene in episode one, where Reena proudly displayed her new Biggie Smalls CD, all the more heartbreaking. The girl was desperately trying to fit in with her peers. Josephine mentions that she and her friends are organizing a vigil to commemorate the rapper's passing and extends an invitation to Reena.

Cam convenes with Suman, Manjit, and Raj, informing them that the police are actively investigating the disturbing calls they've been receiving. However, Cam's primary objective is to keep the family abreast of the latest developments in Reena's disappearance. As they view the security camera footage, Raj queries why, if Reena is seen walking away, her clothes were discovered in the gorge. The father exclaims that Josephine is possessed by evil, declaring that all the girls from Seven Oaks hail from broken homes and that there's something deeply corrupted about Josephine.

Rebecca confides in her father about her plan to engage Josephine in conversation, and he cautions her that most people would steer clear of such a risky endeavor. Her dad remarks that Rebecca has always had a penchant for doing the opposite of what others advise. Curious about the nature of Rebecca and Cam's relationship, she assures her father that they haven't reconciled their past differences. At Seven Oaks, the girls were engrossed in a cartoon, their laughter and giggles echoing through the room. Suddenly, Rebecca entered the scene, her gaze fixed on Josephine. She beckoned the teenager, urging her to accompany her beneath the ominous bridge.

Months earlier, Reena sat before the mirror, attempting to shave her legs, when her mother interrupted. Reena poured out her heart, revealing the taunts and insults hurled at her by her peers. Her mother tried to comfort her, but their religious ideologies collided with Reena's desperation to fit in and be accepted.

Rebecca instructed Josephine and Dusty to chauffeur her to the bridge. As they walked beneath its shadowy arch, Josephine recounted, with Dusty's horrified assistance, the fateful night Reena vanished. Josephine described how, with malice aforethought, she stubbed out a cigarette between Reena's eyes. She revealed their twisted plan to teach Reena a lesson, pointing to the spot where they kicked her and shattered her teeth, rendering her unconscious with her screams.

Josephine continued, her voice tainted with guilt, explaining how she waited for Reena to regain consciousness. She followed her, stalking like a predator, until Reena neared the railing. With a sudden, violent shove, Josephine sent her tumbling into the abyss. Josephine revealed that this was the reason everyone believed Reena had plunged into the gorge - because Josephine had pushed her. Shocked and disbelieving, Dusty stormed off, her mind reeling from this revelation.

Meanwhile, in a serene park, a nature group followed the graceful flight of a great blue heron. But their tranquility was shattered when they stumbled upon the tragic sight of Reena Virk's lifeless body floating in the water.

In flashbacks, Reena experimented with makeup, striving to conform and be accepted by her classmates. Eager to escape the confines of her home and meet her friends, she bumped into her uncle Raj, who presented her with a gift. Curious about her destination, Reena confessed that she was heading to a party with her newfound friend.

In the present, Suman Virk received another chilling phone call, this time from Dusty. She hung up abruptly when Cam entered the Seven Oaks home. Having traced the mysterious calls to Seven Oaks, Cam confronted Dusty about her guilty conscience. All Cam wanted was the truth, but Dusty refused to cooperate. She revealed that she had returned before Josephine, unaware that Cam had also been a resident of Seven Oaks as a child.

Cam pressed Dusty for details about the fateful night Reena disappeared. Suddenly, a call on the radio interrupted their conversation, summoning Cam away. Left alone on the couch, Dusty was overcome with panic. Cam contacted the police station and learned the tragic fate of Reena Virk. Returning to Dusty, Cam broke the news gently but firmly - Reena was dead, and her body had just been discovered.

Angry and unsympathetic, Cam showed no mercy to the distraught teenager. Demanding answers, Dusty confessed to calling the Virk family, hoping that Reena would pick up. She revealed that she had only learned about Reena's demise today. Rebecca's unexpected journey with Josephine culminated in the teenager leading the author to her friend's party. Josephine beckoned Rebecca inside, warning her not to betray her trust.

Eight months prior, Reena nervously entered the same house for a party, a world entirely foreign to her. She watched Josephine and her clique attempting to communicate with Biggie Smalls through a Ouija board. Kelly Ellard, noticing Reena's curious gaze, scowled. Despite her dislike, Josephine assured her friend that a gang couldn't exist without members. She branded Reena as a wannabe and predicted that she would do whatever they commanded.

The Saanich police were in motion, and Cam arrived at the shoreline where Reena's lifeless body had been discovered. She confronted Scott and her father, the chief, who made amends by offering a heartfelt apology. It was surreal for her dad to see her standing there, remembering how they watched her walk away. Cam revealed to her father that she had told the Virk family she thought Reena might be okay. Her father asked if she was willing to be the one to break the news to Reena's parents. Upon learning that Dusty had confessed to Josephine Bell's involvement, her father instructed her to arrest Josephine immediately.

At the party, Rebecca encountered Kelly Ellard and announced that she was writing a book about her. Panicked, Rebecca hid in a room and dialed the Saanich police. Hoping to speak with Cam, she learned that she was unavailable and hung up. Suddenly, Warren (Javon Walton) walked in and offered Rebecca his drink, breaking the tense silence.

Cam stared intently at the surveillance photos, realizing that a time difference was marked on each one. She drove back to the bridge, determined to test Josephine Bell's alibi.

Meanwhile, Suman sat at home, informing her husband Manjit of the good news. A letter from the Crown Attorney had arrived, notifying them that his criminal record had been expunged. However, their joy was short-lived as Roy knocked on the door with dire news.

At Warren's house, the television blared, and the kids watched in horror as the news broke that Reena's body had been found. Dusty arrived at the party, and Josephine feigned shock over Reena's death, grilling Kelly about the tragic event. This left Rebecca wondering how truthful the wannabe gangster had been with her.
