Uzumaki (2024) – Episode 3 1

As their conversation weaves through the corridors of their thoughts, an eerie sight catches their attention: a swarm of mosquitoes forming a sinister spiral outside Kirie's hospital window. Rumors swiftly permeate the hospital's halls, whispering tales of pregnant women bitten by these mosquitoes and admitted for treatment, among them Kirie's cousin, who ends up sharing her room.

The following day, a grim discovery shocks the hospital staff – a patient lies lifeless, his body a hollow shell, devoid of blood. Shuichi returns to Kirie's side, swiftly dispatching a mosquito that dared buzz within her sanctuary, elucidating that female mosquitoes seek blood to nourish their offspring.

That fateful night, Kirie's eyes are glued to a harrowing spectacle: a ghoulish procession of pregnant women, drills in hand, wandering the hospital's haunted corridors. She bears witness to one of these women drilling into a patient's neck and voraciously consuming his life essence. Upon realizing that Kirie has seen their dark deed, they turn their hunting eyes upon her, ruthlessly eliminating anyone else who stumbles upon their grim secret. With adrenaline fueling her every move, Kirie manages to elude their relentless pursuit and sanctuary in her room, but even her cousin's eyes have turned, reflecting the same bloodlust. Kirie's quick thinking and a can of insect repellent become her only defense against the bloodthirsty women.

Elsewhere, Shuichi's mother descends into a realm of delusions, haunted by the phantom whispers of her deceased husband, who speaks of a spiral within her ear. Despite a doctor's reassurance, her sanity slips away, culminating in a harrowing act of self-mutilation – she stabs her ear with scissors. Her life ebbs away, and as her body is consumed by flames in the crematorium, her ashen spirit ascends in a haunting spiral of smoke, echoing the ominous pattern that has plagued their lives.

The following day, Kirie stubbornly refused to partake in breakfast, her instincts telling her that the mushrooms served bore an unsettling resemblance to the taste of blood. Almost immediately thereafter, an eerie discovery unfolded: the newborns in their ward seemed reluctant to venture out from their mothers' wombs, preferring instead to develop placentas that mirrored the mushrooms in both appearance and an不祥的预感. The doctors disclosed a harrowing truth – the infants were physically resisting birth itself.

Fully transformed, Kirie's cousin now yearned for blood with an insatiable thirst, prompting the doctor to contemplate sacrificing Kirie and Shuichi to quell her hunger. The duo narrowly escaped this grim fate as her cousin, in a fit of desperation, consumed the doctor instead.

Returning to Kirie's home, the pair was confronted with an unsettling sight – the house was filled with intricate spiral-shaped pottery, a macabre creation of her father's hands. Shuichi, driven by a sense of urgency, shattered the kiln, unleashing trapped souls and engulfing the residence in a fiery inferno. Shortly thereafter, a typhoon ravaged the town, claiming the life of one of Kirie's classmates, whose hair had不幸地缠绕在了一根柱子上.

Shuichi ushered Kirie to safety, their ears ringing with the storm's eerie whisper, seemingly beckoning her name. Caught in the maelstrom's fury, they miraculously clung to life. In the wake of the storm's devastation, Kirie's family and Shuichi sought refuge in a temporary shelter, their once-standing home reduced to rubble.

Later, a neighbor, whose true intentions were revealed as sinister stalking of Kirie, offered an explanation for the strange moaning emanating from the neighboring house – it belonged to the son of a poverty-stricken woman. However, their discovery of the dead son, his room riddled with holes, quickly turned their stomachs. The neighbor, now sporting spiral-shaped horns sprouting all over his body, became a figure of pure horror.

Kirie and Shuichi's journey took them to another grim encounter – a deceased classmate whose body parts disintegrated as he moved, a car's suspension spring grotesquely attached to his torso. As the episode drew to a close, the storm intensified, painting the sky with an ominous forecast of further turmoil.
