Flash forward to the present, Harry Virdee (Staz Nair) hastily pulls what he perceives to be Alastair Boardman (Jack Archer) from a pool of water, only to discover it's Tara Virdee-Duggal (Nina Singh), lifeless and in desperate need of assistance. Virdee – Season 1 Episode 4 1

Meanwhile, at the police station, Saima Hyatt (Aysha Kala) accompanies Aaron Hyatt-Virdee (Wissam Naseer) when the stolen phone, originally belonging to Riaz Hyatt (Vikash Bhai), begins to beep incessantly. Soon after, Detective Sergeant Clare Conway (Elizabeth Berrington) arrives and offers Saima a ride to the hospital where Harry awaits.

Upon Saima's arrival, the pair attempts to piece together the bewildering events and the identity of the caller. Their conversation is abruptly halted as Tara, in a state of panic, reacts violently when a nurse attempts to administer a sedative. With Saima's intervention, they eventually manage to calm her and administer the medication. While Tara slumbers, the police meticulously document her newly acquired tattoos. Conway informs Harry that his house has been cleared by the authorities, freeing him to return home whenever he chooses. Harry then asks Saima if she could stay with her father for a couple of days, to which she agrees.

The following morning, Harry is jolted awake by a call from Jonathan Boardman (Silas Carson). Harry assures him he's en route. At the station, Jonathan grapples with the mystery surrounding his son's abduction. During the meeting, Rebecca Armitage (Elaine Tan) plays a chilling recording received at headquarters just an hour prior, wherein the assailant reveals how Harry opted to save his niece rather than apprehend him. The caller further threatens to dial the same number at 4 PM, insisting on speaking solely with Harry.

Elsewhere, Enzo Tobin (Tomi May) and two accomplices watch in stealth as one of Vasil Shala's (Andi Jashy) men delivers a sum of money to a residence. Moments after his departure, they strike, robbing the place blind. As they scurry back to their vehicle, they narrowly avoid being trapped, skillfully maneuvering their escape. On her journey to the hospital, Tara's path crossed with an unsettling revelation when she glanced at a message popping up on Riaz's phone. It was an urgent warning about her kidnapping, with a plea for Riaz to refrain from retaliation. Hardly had the words settled in her mind when she stumbled upon Harry tinkering with something in the trunk of his car. Embracing him with a pretense of affection, Tara swiftly pilfered his keys, later uncovering a clandestine second phone concealed within his spare tire.

Upon their reunion, Tara recounted all she could remember to Harry, who in turn presented her with a photograph of the wasp, to which she confirmed her sighting. Their conversation was interrupted by Saima, who couldn't help but notice the Urdu tattoo adorning Tara's neck. She interpreted it as a tripartite numeral – 420, a slang term meaning dishonest in Urdu.

Elsewhere, Enzo, Riaz, and Riaz's girlfriend tallied their ill-gotten gains from the Vasil hit. Riaz's girlfriend proposed distributing the wealth among the community as a gesture of goodwill, an idea that initially left Enzo skeptical until he learned of Riaz's enthusiastic endorsement.

Jyoti Virdee, played by Sudha Bhuchar, endeavored to reconcile Ranjit Virdee, portrayed by Kulvinder Ghir, with Harry, but her efforts were met with a stony refusal. Asserting her resolve, Jyoti declared her unwavering commitment to Aaron's life, regardless of Ranjit's objections, and stormed out.

True to his word, the assailant phoned Harry at precisely four o'clock, displaying a live feed of a bound Alastair. With macabre delight, the assailant placed a Black Widow spider on Alastair and compelled Harry to confess his lethal past to the room. After some hesitation, Harry capitulated, at which point the assailant labeled him dishonest.

Ranjit attempted to return the photo of Aaron that Jyoti had thrust upon him amidst their stormy exchange, but she rejected it. She confessed that while she once pitied him, she now deemed him unworthy of her family. Meanwhile, Enzo offered Ateeq Farooqi, played by Yousesf Naseer, his 60,000-pound share from the robbery. Ateeq, however, rejected it, expressing his desire for a face-to-face meeting with their boss. Before Enzo could respond, Riaz entered the room, demanding an explanation from Enzo about the Shala crew's abduction of Ateeq. Riaz clarified that Ateeq had crossed them, but they couldn't eliminate him because children held sway in their realm. As their conversation ebbed and flowed, Riaz granted Ateeq a chance, promising him a shot at redemption.Conway interrogates Harry about his alleged involvement in a homicide, to which Harry responds by insisting his innocence, claiming he merely recited what the assailant compelled him to say. As they continue this dialogue in the presence of Khalil Amin (Danyal Ismail), Harry's mind drifts back to the Jai Pawa (Ramon Tikaram) case he once tackled alongside Jonathan. Even though Pawa remains incarcerated, Harry指令s an immediate report detailing all his cellmates since his incarceration. They also devise a strategy to cross-check electrical consumption records for any spikes indicative of the energy required to cultivate wasps. Soon afterward, Conway orders Harry to stay home to ensure he remains reachable at all times. Upon exiting the station, Harry realizes his spare phone is missing and, instead of utilizing it, dials Riaz on his primary phone, whispering, "420, one hour."

Saima convenes with Nadia Hyatt (Hussina Raja) to delve into the matter of Harry's burner phone. Nadia informs her that she has spotted the same device in the hands of drug-dealing teenagers. She also cautions Saima about Riaz's seven-year prison stint, hinting at how such an experience can transform a person.

Khalil gathers Conway, Jonathan, and Armitage to discuss the case, highlighting the Pawa lead. Tara, seizing the moment when her guard steps out, dresses, pulls out her IV, and hails a cab to Lammington Lane. Khalil presents the team with a prison video featuring Pawa. Harry receives this update upon his arrival at Lammington Lane, shortly followed by Tara.

While at Lammington Lane, Harry is enveloped by a vivid flashback to the fateful day portrayed in the opening scene. Upon returning to the shop with Riaz, they find their tormentor raiding the cash register. Young Harry, driven by bravery, attempts to intervene but is brutally overpowered. Riaz, grasping a pair of scissors, stands trembling, only to have his resolve shattered when his mother enters. The tormentor knocks her to the ground, seizing the scissors from Riaz's grasp. With the blade poised to strike Riaz, Harry re-enters the fray. Another fierce struggle ensues, culminating in Harry plunging the scissors into the tormentor's jugular. The narrative shifts back to the present, where Riaz joins Harry at their old shop, their past intertwining with the present.

Harry grills Riaz, demanding to know whom he had confidentially unveiled the murder to, and subsequently unburdens himself about his encounter at the police station. Riaz, after much coercion, concedes that he had shared the information with Pawa while they were incarcerated together. Harry does not take this revelation well, prompting a heated debate about who else might be privy to their secrets. Henford, the meticulous accountant, emerges as a person of interest. Riaz urges Harry to scrutinize Henford's involvement while he delves deeper into his own inquiries. As Harry exits, a haunting flashback resurfaces, showing Riaz, with a tone of submission, instructing Harry to strip and leave. Overwhelmed with guilt for failing to shield his own mother, Riaz yearns to bear the brunt of the crime alone. Harry, initially reluctant, eventually acquiesces.

Back at the command center, Khalil presents Conway with a compilation of addresses corresponding to heightened electrical consumption. Among the seven listed, one stands out prominently: it belongs to Visam Bhuchar, a convicted criminal arrested in 2015 for the illegal possession and breeding of Indian Red Scorpions. Upon relaying this to Armitage, she promptly issues orders for a strike team to assemble within half an hour.

Saima pays Riaz a visit, probing him about Harry's disposable phone and the device Aaron uncovered in his desk. Before Riaz can divulge any details, she curtly orders him to steer clear of Harry's affairs. This directive irritates Riaz, leading him to curtly dismiss her. Meanwhile, Harry embarks on a mission to locate Matthew Henford, while Khalil and the police forces launch a raid on Visam's residence. Harry requests reinforcement, only to be informed by Conway that they are already engaged at a suspect's premises. She, once more, insists he return home and abruptly terminates the call. Undeterred, Harry manages to infiltrate the house via the cellar. By the time Conway and her team ascertain that Alastair is not present at Visam's, Harry has discovered Alastair at Henford's abode—only to be ambushed from behind and felled to the ground. The episode concludes on this cliffhanger.
