Virgin River – Season 7 Episode 7 1

Back in Virgin River, Mel and Jack tell Marley to take them off her list so she can make a decision without any pressure. Eamon agrees that it might be for the best, and they ask to leave the airstream. Later, Mel and Jack convince themselves that they made the right choice. Mel thanks Jack for stepping up and supporting their family.

Meanwhile, Vernon decides to call for an emergency tribunal, hoping it will help fix the issue with his medical license quickly. After Vernon leaves for his meeting, Denny and Hope convince Lizzie to attend what was supposed to be her surprise baby shower at Preacher and Jack's bar.

Elsewhere, Clay and Jack work together to find the leaking pipe on the farm. At the expedited hearing, Vernon tries to explain how his suspension is affecting the town. Although they don't consider his request an emergency, they are open to hearing him out.

At the clinic, Mel is hurt when Marley decides to change her midwife to avoid hurting Mel. She offers to recommend her to a different OB. At the bar, Preacher pretends he's not worried about Kaia as he helps the sewing ladies' crew prepare Lizzie's baby shower. As it turns out, Kaia and Brady are doing well, but her near-death experience has given her a new perspective on what's important. She calls Preacher and talks to the sewing ladies' crew as well.

The expedited tribunal gets more tense, and Vernon tries to prove his point. He brings up Oliver's offer and how he's only after him to steal his practice. During the break, Victoria advises him to show the tribunal who he is since everyone she talked to at Virgin River had nothing but respect and gratitude for Vernon.

Returning to town, Clay confronts Eamon angrily for having no plan amidst his impending fatherhood. Jack steps in to ask him to calm down. Clay shares his personal struggle with young, reckless parents and how he was separated from his sister due to the foster care system. Unfortunately, Lizzie's baby shower pushes her over the edge. She refuses to let the ladies hold the baby, and when Fumiko starts crying, she feels overwhelmed and locks herself in the toilet.

While Mel asks Denny to email Marley's information to a new doctor, they receive a call about Lizzie. The two rush down to the bar, and Mel helps Lizzie feel calm enough to open the door. Finally, Lizzie admits she is struggling and agrees to have Denny take Fumiko home. Hope and Mel stay with Lizzie and help her understand that she is experiencing postpartum anxiety. Hope apologizes for not helping enough, and later, the sewing crew creates a calendar outlining how they will each step up to help Lizzie more. They all agree that it takes a village to raise a child.

Meanwhile, Jack calls Brie and vents about how he is struggling with everything happening. He feels like he is losing control and doesn't know what to do. Brie encourages him to remain positive. Taking Victoria's advice, Vernon vulnerably tells the tribunal his story and moves their hearts. They agree to reinstate his license, and Victoria breaks the happy news to him.

In the meantime, Kaia opts to go home after 75% of the wildfire is handled. Brady mentions that another team is leaving to handle a different wildfire, but Kaia insists that she is done. She wants to return to Virgin River to be with Preacher. She considers him her home.

At the police station, Brie and Mike talk about the kiss they shared the previous night. She admits she was caught up too. As they talk, they receive a call that the judge denied the search warrant, and Mike insists on checking out the address anyway.

At the farm, Clay apologizes to Jack for losing his temper at Eamon. He talks more about his younger sister, whom he lost contact with when he was sixteen. He is still looking for her.

Later, Mel visits Marley and assures her that she is not alone. She hopes that Marley will still reach out even if she doesn't give up the child for adoption, and Mel is no longer her doctor. She heads home to find that Jack fixed all the sprinklers at the farm. She tells him about Marley, and they remain hopeful.

Meanwhile, Mike finally arrests Wild Bill.

The episode ends with Mel and Jack walking back to the house and spotting Clay's car near the barn. They find it odd since he left a while ago. Inside the barn, Clay hides money and retrieves his gun from the secret stash he kept under the floor tiles. When Mel and Jack find him, he turns around revealing a bloodied nose and shirt.
