Wednesday – Season 1 Episode 8

Published: Jul 03 2024

Episode 8 commences with Wednesday confronting Tyler amidst the serene woods, accusing him of being the Hyde. His denial was swift and shrewd. He challenged her, asking why she would dare confront him alone if she truly believed in her accusation. Wednesday retorted with a sly smile, revealing that she was not alone;Bianca and the other sirens had accompanied her, and Bianca promptly used her enchanting powers to render him unconscious.

They swiftly escorted him to Xavier's artistic abode, where they chained him securely to a chair. Wednesday, now in the role of interrogator, began her grilling. It transpired that Tyler's mother was a Hyde, and he claimed to have inherited the genes from her. He pleaded that being the offspring of an outcast did not automatically transform him into a monster. Wednesday, however, was unaffected by his crocodile tears and escalated her interrogation to a more "subtle form of torture."

Wednesday – Season 1 Episode 8 1

The sirens, disinclined to witness such brutality, abandoned Wednesday and reported her to the principal. The principal, in turn, alerted the sheriff, who had been privy to Dr. Kinbott's assessment of Tyler during their therapeutic sessions. Deeply concerned about the psychological toll Tyler's mother's death had inflicted upon him, the therapist's words resonated in the sheriff's mind. Upon receiving the call, he hastened to rescue Tyler from Wednesday's determined grasp.

The sheriff refrained from pressing charges but sternly warned Wednesday to desist from further probing. As Wednesday prepared to depart the police station, Tyler requested a private conversation. He confessed to his crimes and mocked her for her misjudgment. He reveled in the terror he inflicted upon his victims, warning her that she was oblivious to the impending horrors.

The principal deemed it sufficient and expelled Wednesday, instructing her to vacate the premises by the following afternoon. Wednesday, desperate to salvage the situation, pleaded with the principal for more time to expose Tyler's true identity. However, the principal refused, expressing her disappointment in the manner the situation had unfolded.

In a last-ditch attempt, Wednesday visited Xavier in his cell. He was not amused to learn that while he was languishing in chains, Wednesday had shared a kiss with Tyler. Wednesday revealed her knowledge of Tyler's true identity and begged for Xavier's assistance. He refused, advising her that the only solution was to flee the town. He accused her of making life difficult for everyone she encountered.

The following morning, Wednesday gathered her belongings and prepared to depart. She bid a bittersweet farewell to Enid and even shared a heartfelt goodbye with Bianca and the Nightshades, cautioning them to brace themselves for Tyler's next sinister scheme. Ms. Thornhill presented her with a bouquet of white oleander as a parting gift, wishing her the best in her future endeavors. Before leaving the town, Wednesday visited Eugene, who had emerged from his coma, and bade him a fond farewell.

Eugene recounted the night of his assault, detailing the sight of the assailant's red boots, convincing Wednesday that Dr. Kinbott was not the culprit. Wednesday, realizing that Ms. Thornhill was the only person she had encountered with such boots, returned to the school to confront her. She revealed that Tyler had confessed everything, and summoned Principal Larissa, who had transformed into Tyler's likeness. Faced with Wednesday's unwavering account, Ms. Thornhill confessed and urged "Tyler" to eliminate her.

Upon hearing the confession, Larissa reverted to her true form and coerced Ms. Thornhill, alias Laurel, to cooperate. She emphatically ended Larissa's life by administering nightshade poison and striking Wednesday with a spade. She then dragged Wednesday into Crackstone's crypt and shackled her.

Thing frantically sought help from Edin, relaying the dire situation while Eugene anxiously listened on the video call. Inside the crypt, Ms. Thornhill revealed her sinister plan to annihilate the school. She intended to resurrect Crackstone using the body parts Tyler had collected from his victims. Goody had not only slain Crackstone, she had cursed his soul as well. However, Ms. Thornhill hoped to use Wednesday, as the living descendant of Goody, to unlock the blood seal on the sarcophagus that imprisoned Crackstone. The ritual required a night of a blood moon, making the conditions perfect for her scheme.

Meanwhile, the sheriff received a call from one of his officers, informing him that Eugene's parents suspected something amiss at Nevermore. She and her officers struggled to reach the school in time, as all their car tires had been slashed. The sheriff, who was on his way to transport Xavier to prison, made the decision to redirect to the school.

Ms. Thornhill initiated her ritual and summoned Crackstone, who vowed swift and merciless revenge. Wednesday attempted to confront him, but he stabbed her, leaving her for dead. At that moment, Goody materialized before her, instructing her on how to defeat Crackstone. She told Wednesday to utilize the talisman necklace given by her mother, which would allow Goody to pass through her and heal her wounds, but at the cost of never seeing her again. Wednesday agreed, and Goody restored her to health.

Enid rallied the Nightshades, and the sirens offered their magical prowess to evacuate the school. As she frantically raced to Wednesday's rescue, Enid began to transform, her wolf-like nature taking over. Once healed, Wednesday hastened to halt Crackstone's rampage but encountered Tyler. He morphed into a hideous beast and unleashed a ferocious attack, only to be confronted by Enid in her fearsome wolf form. A wild battle ensued.

Elsewhere, the sheriff reconsidered his original plan and resolved to track Tyler's whereabouts. Abandoning Xavier locked in his vehicle, he ventured into the woods, but was unexpectedly liberated by Thing. He stumbled upon the epic clash between the monster and the wolf, and without hesitation, fired at Tyler, transforming him back into a human after the fierce encounter.

Within the school grounds, Wednesday engaged in a brutal battle with Crackstone. Bianca and Xavier tried to aid her, but Crackstone's strength was overwhelming. Remembering Goody's advice on defeating him, Wednesday plunged her blade into his heart, dissipating him into the ether. Yet, the battle was not over, as Ms. Thornhill stormed in, armed with a gun. Eugene summoned his bees to fend her off, and with his assistance, they succeeded in saving the school.

With her novel complete, Wednesday and Enid visited the principal's office to pay their respects. They acknowledged their sorrow in losing her and expressed their respect for her sacrifice for the school. The remaining classes of the semester were canceled, and Enid invited Wednesday to visit her in San Francisco. Wednesday thanked Bianca for her assistance, signaling a potential reconciliation between them. She also reconciled with Xavier, who gifted her a phone and asked her to text him. He inquired about her return for the next semester, but she remained silent.

As she walked home, a mysterious message appeared on her phone from an unknown stalker. Passing the vehicle transporting Tyler, she recounted that not all loose ends had been tied up. The season concluded with Tyler mutating into a monster once again, even in transit.
