When The Stars Gossip – K-drama Episode 7

Published: Feb 06 2025

Episode 7 of "When The Stars Gossip" kicks off with an enthralling scene of Eve Kim being interviewed on the news, sharing her awe-inspiring journey into space. However, we are soon diverted from her innermost thoughts to an unexpected conversation among Ryong's mothers, who engage in a hilarious yet thoughtful debate about the logistics of intimacy in the weightless realm of space. Given the challenges posed by zero gravity and the peculiar positions our bodies assume in such an environment (I strive to convey this with utmost delicacy!), such an act seems highly improbable, if not impossible.

When The Stars Gossip – K-drama Episode 7 1

Meanwhile, in the vast expanse of space, Ryong and his companions celebrate the triumphant success of their mission. The trio finds themselves pondering over their lottery windfalls, torn between keeping the money for themselves and returning Kang-su's share. After much deliberation, they conclude that honor demands they do the right thing. That very night, as Kang-su slumbers peacefully, they sneakily place his ticket into his sleeping quarters.

Elsewhere, Eve and Ryong find themselves attempting to encourage a pair of mice to mate. The female mouse continues to elude the advances of her male counterpart, mirroring Eve's own evasive behavior towards Ryong. Eve postulates that the mice's reluctance could be hormone-related and promptly sets to work devising a plan to facilitate their coupling.

Back on Earth, Min-jeong is rushed to the hospital after receiving an urgent call from Ryong. The Chairman and his cronies swiftly converge at her bedside, their concern palpable. However, her prognosis remains uncertain, much like the fate of those aboard the space station. A collision with space debris has necessitated an urgent relocation of the station, adding to the already high stakes of their mission.

Eve is diligently tackling the situation, utilizing the thrusters to steer them clear of any debris that might loop back and collide with them. In the dead of night, she rises to perform this crucial task, but finds herself unable to return to sleep afterwards. To pass the time until slumber claims her once more, she decides to immerse herself in the pages of a book. Fortunately, it's not the one with the cleverly concealed compartment for hiding a bottle, huh!

Meanwhile, Dong-a is consumed by anxiety. He's been witnessing Eve's growing closeness to Ryong, blissfully unaware that Eve is already privy to his clandestine affair. Despite this, he continues to meet with Tae-hui, even daring to share a kiss with her in Eve's apartment, until he ultimately pulls back and resolves to terminate their illicit liaison. His desires are a tangled mess, and he's uncertain if ending it is the right course of action.

Eve is now asleep, and when Ryong awakens, his gaze falls once again on her feet, reminding him that she needs her dressings changed. He gently performs this task while she's still in dreamland. Afterwards, he apologizes for the trouble he's caused her, stemming from an incident where Eve had spoken ill of him at the Seoul MCC on his first day at the station. He had been outside the office and overheard her remarks. Ever since, he's been striving to prove his worth in any way he can.

From the hospital, Ryong calls with joyous news. He informs the group that he's successfully fertilized the egg and promises that Min-jeong will one day hear the word "mom." This seems to work its magic, and she slowly regains consciousness.

Onboard the space station, Kang-su is less than pleased to find that the incubator is locked with a different password. He struggles futilely to gain entry, oblivious to the fact that the gang has slipped the winning lottery ticket into his room. Instead, he confronts Ryong immediately about the incubator and the egg.

However, the situation takes a dramatic turn when the space debris approaches the Space Station perilously close. A Code Yellow is declared, signaling the imminent arrival of a debris cloud, and the crew must hastily board the Scorpion for an urgent departure. They scramble to gather essential supplies, including the fruit flies, mice, and any other necessities for their potential long journey back to Earth. With time ticking away, Kang-su remains guarded and tight-lipped about his possessions, leading the others to believe that his "valuables" might just be the lottery ticket.

Ryong, on the other hand, is frantic to secure the incubator, which holds the precious fertilized egg. But time is precious, and he squanders crucial moments manually extracting the incubator. Suddenly, the debris strikes sooner than anticipated, prompting a Code Red for the team. In the chaos, the lottery ticket gets sucked into the ventilation system, while Ryong is roughly jostled as he struggles to escape with the incubator. Tragically, he finds himself trapped inside the Observation Module. Meanwhile, the others are already aboard the Scorpion and realize with a chilling sense of horror that their Space Tourist, Ryong, is stranded and alone.

Eve impulsively wanted to perform a spacewalk to save him, but the MCC did not agree with this approach. She was in a dilemma, not knowing what to do. However, as the hatch closed and the Scorpion spacecraft started to depart, she was forced to make a decision, leaving Ryong alone on the space station.
