Who Killed Sara? – Season 1 Episode 2 1

Hired by Cesar's hand, these mercenaries brutalize Alex, leaving him sprawled on the ground, a stark testament to their ruthless efficiency. Elisa, swift and silent as a shadow, sneaks inside, her eyes scanning the walls adorned with a tapestry of documents and photographs that whisper of secrets long buried. Amidst this chaos, she spots Alex, prone and vulnerable, and without hesitation, rushes him to safety within the hospital's hallowed halls.

Disguising herself as Maria, an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire, Elisa's facade belies the intensity of her mission. Alex, though, is not easily fooled, his suspicions lingering like a palpable mist. Yet, gratitude outweighs his doubts, and he offers a terse thank you before retreating back to the sanctuary of his home.

There, he reconnects with his enigmatic confidante, Diana the Hunter, their cryptic exchange echoing through the airwaves. Their bond stretches back to the fateful day in court when Alex's fate was sealed, Diana's presence a silent testament to their shared history.

Flashbacks flood Elisa's mind, revealing the agonizing choice that once weighed heavily on Alex's shoulders. Cesar's alluring promise of the finest medical care for his mother was a heavy lure, one that Alex ultimately succumbed to, sacrificing himself to the false accusation of Sara's murder. The consequences of that decision have haunted him ever since.

Elsewhere, tensions simmer between Rodolfo and Sofia, the latter's return with yet another negative pregnancy test igniting a storm of emotions. Five years have passed, and still, the promise of a child remains elusive. Rodolfo's feeble attempt to deflect blame falls flat, for memories of Sara's own declaration of pregnancy to him linger, casting a sinister shadow over his motives. Could the unspoken desire for a heir have driven him to such desperate lengths, especially if the family's acceptance hinged on this very notion?

Amidst his turmoil, Rodolfo seeks solace at Sara's grave, where Chema's comforting words echo like a distant lullaby. But Rodolfo's words, raw with emotion, betray a deeper truth. He confronts Chema, accusing him of being a killer, a man who allowed Sara's life to slip away, leaving a trail of unanswered questions and a heartbreak that refuses to heal.

Rodolfo finally arrives at the office, where Elisa anxiously awaits, her gaze fixed on him as she confronts him about the hired assassination attempt on Alex, her voice tinged with suspicion, wondering aloud if he had any hand in the gruesome murder. Just as tensions reach a boiling point, Cesar's unexpected entrance cuts short their heated exchange, compelling Elisa to relinquish the confrontation and depart. In private, Cesar confides in Rodolfo, swearing on his soul that he did not take Sara's life, though the truthfulness of his claim remains shrouded in mystery.

Meanwhile, Chema delves into his dusty trove of possessions, his fingers grazing over forgotten treasures until they alight upon a tape marked enigmatically with "A.G." His lips curve into a mischievous smile as he inserts the tape into a camcorder, revealing a footage of Alex in a shower scene, the camera lingering on his silhouette in a way that betrays a former fascination Chema once held for him.

Determined to unravel the intricate web of deceit, Elisa treks to Alex's abode, where they partake in a ritualistic sharing of tequila, their bond strengthening amidst the quest for truth.

Alex, fueled by a relentless drive to uncover the truth, stumbles upon Mariana as a fresh suspect. Her presence at the courthouse during the fateful hour piques his interest, and armed with a printed photograph, he embarks on a digital hunt, utilizing a mirror app—a stealthy spy tool that grants him unfettered access to Mariana's private world.

Mariana, a woman haunted by her own demons, wears a barbed cilice around her leg as a form of self-flagellation, her guilt palpable. Her discovery of a knife aboard the ill-fated boat, where she meticulously wiped away all traces, speaks volumes of her involvement. As she utters a venomous epithet over the phone, vowing to settle matters herself, she casts the incriminating knife into the depths below, leaving the murder mystery wide open and the stage ripe for yet another suspect to emerge.
