Wild Cards – Season 2 Episode 13

Published: May 16 2025

As the curtain drops on the final chapter of Wild Cards, Samson Ramos (portrayed by Dylan Schombing) confronts Cole Ellis (Giacomo Gianniotti) with a harrowing revelation: he blames himself for Daniel's untimely demise. The tale unfolds as Samson and Daniel once visited Samson's mother's club to retrieve a textbook, with Daniel acting as Samson's tutor. Their tranquil interruption was shattered by the entrance of Roman Locke (Aleks Paunovic), accompanied by a mysterious companion. The pair eavesdropped on a hush-hush conversation about a career going up in smoke, though the identity of Roman's companion remained obscured. Samson's inadvertent noise drew attention, prompting Daniel (Jonathan Mason) to intervene, ultimately being dismissed curtly. Overhearing snippets of Roman's conversation, Samson caught wind of a busboy who had spotted them together, leading Roman to order Zippo to silence the witness. Tragically, Daniel was found murdered the following day, and Samson's mother, fearing for her son's safety, silenced him about the incident.

Wild Cards – Season 2 Episode 13 1

Determined to uncover the truth, Cole quizzes Samson about the mysterious figure and insists that Samson's actions, albeit unintentional, do not directly implicate him in Daniel's murder. Cole then reaches out to Max Mitchell (Vanessa Morgan), updating her on his findings, while she keeps Roman Locke in her sights. Elena Ramos (Erica Cerra), wary of Roman's ruthless streak, warns Max that he won't hesitate to eliminate her. Suspecting Max's true identity as a cop, Elena pleads for her son's safety, refusing to let him testify against Locke, fearing it could cost him his life. Elena further hints that Locke enjoys inside protection within the police force.

Elsewhere, George Graham (Jason Priestley) and Ricky Wilson (Fletcher Donovan) discover Tyson, a gunshot victim, prompting them to meticulously sanitize their presence at the crime scene. The next day, Ricky informs Cole that despite reviewing CCTV footage from Tyson's neighborhood, the shooter remains elusive. Elena reveals that Tyson had visited the club seeking Roman, while George confirms the extent of Roman's police protection. Ricky delves into the police database, uncovering a curious shift in Locke's operations two years prior: his organization expanded, while arrests dwindled. They deduce that Locke is receiving inside information. Ricky urges bringing Samson to town for testimony, but Cole hesitates, prioritizing Samson's safety.

Max volunteers to return to the club under the pretense of singing, her mood soured by Cole's arrival. Cole strategizes to pressure Locke into making a move, asserting his own irrelevance, while Max asserts his importance to her. As Max takes the stage, Locke approaches Cole, suggesting a private chat. Max watches them depart, concern etched on her face. In their private discussion, Locke mocks Cole, comparing him unfavorably to his deceased brother, hinting at a fatal confrontation that night. He prefers to avoid conflict, fearing the mess and disruptions it would cause his business. However, he's open to making Cole an offer to avoid bloodshed. Cole demands to know why his brother had to die and presses Locke about the shadowy figure from the club.

Locke discovers that another individual might have been present on that fateful day, sparking a fierce struggle for control of Locke's firearm and an intense combat sequence. Ultimately, Cole emerges victorious in the confrontation. Meanwhile, Max activates the fire alarm and launches an assault on the guard stationed at the doorway. Upon entering, she discovers Cole holding Locke at gunpoint, conducting a grilling interrogation. Afterward, Max drives Cole back to his residence.

Cole reveals that Daniel had phoned him twice on the same night, expressing the urge to converse, but Cole was engrossed in a case and failed to return his calls. Max offers him comforting words. As dawn breaks, Cole declares his intention to return home, confident that he has identified the traitorous insider within the department.

Heading to the police station, Cole confronts Chief Li (Terry Chen) and Commissioner Russo (Karin Konoval), sharing with them the witness's account of Locke's conversations about a smear campaign. He also alerts them to the existence of the mole and reveals that he has arranged a safe house, known only to them. Detectives Simmons (Michael Xavier) and Yates (Amy Goodmurphy) are assigned to guard the premises, later relieved by Officer Jim (Giacomo Baessato).

When Jim finds himself alone, he attaches a silencer to his firearm. Russo boasts to Chief Li about her four-point lead in the mayoral race. Jim calls her with grim news—the mother and son are deceased. Simmons and Yates apprehend Jim at the crime scene, intending to inspect his weapon for links to other homicides. Cole and Chief Li subsequently arrest Russo at the station, aware of her communications with Locke on that night and her promotion following the forced resignation of the previous commissioner amidst scandal. Locke had agreed to eliminate the commissioner, while Russo vowed to safeguard his business interests. Cole realizes that Jim framed him by planting drugs in his car to distract from Locke. Russo claims ignorance of Daniel being Cole's brother at the time. Chief Li mentions an unresolved matter, prompting Cole to confront and arrest Roman Locke. Cole witnesses Samson embracing Elena.

At the station, Yates confirms that ballistics match Jim's gun with the bullet that killed Tyson, and Jim confesses his involvement. Tyson was used as bait to lure Daniel into an alley, where Zippo executed him. Cole presents Max with a prestigious badge, which Chief Li playfully dismisses as a fake. Chief Li informs Cole that he is being placed on leave pending a comprehensive internal affairs investigation, as superiors worry that his unofficial involvement could stir up trouble. Chief Li vows to challenge the decision. Cole remarks that this might actually be beneficial, as he could use a brief respite.

Elsewhere, George listens to Jonathan Ashford (Martin Sheen) speak about his guiding principles. Jonathan recounts taking in a young man who became a formidable teammate but eventually had to be let go. He admits his past mistakes and regrets turning his back on someone he cared for out of fear. Jonathan apologizes to George and expresses pride in the person he has grown into. Ricky suggests that the man might have succumbed to a heart condition. George shares that he has encountered Vivian, introducing a new dynamic between them.

He embarked on a lengthy journey solely to meet him and bestow upon him a unique gift. George fears that this might just be one final deceitful maneuver from beyond the realm of the deceased. Ricky assures him that they are about to uncover the truth. Max boards Cole's boat, where Cole believes he is finally set to embark on the voyage Daniel had once mentioned, now that the boat is operational. Cole cordially invites Max to accompany him, revealing his plans to depart at dawn. However, Max has other intentions first. She swiftly returns to Ricky and George, who are already prepared to embark on their mission.

George discovers that they possess a replica of Ashford's office, convinced that the key to unlocking Ashford's vast fortune lies within its confines. Max mentions the significance of taking Ashford's watch, within which Ricky had discovered a hidden compartment containing a memory card. This card harbored videos and a crucial link to an offshore bank account, guarded by a sequence of twelve passwords that had to be entered in the precise order. Any three errors would cause the link to shut down permanently. Through meticulous observation of the videos, Max and Ricky uncover a clue that might lead them to the passwords.

Ricky notices that Ashford had adjusted the camera position for each video, with one video particularly revealing a magnetized desk. Ricky manages to procure Ashford's authentic desk, its glass etchings cleverly refracting light and securely holding the watch in place. Ashford had once pointed to Bermuda on the globe and mentioned Father's Day, while each clock in his office was meticulously set to 2:36. Ricky switches on the light, causing it to refract on the watch and reveal the code. They begin entering the passwords, each one proving correct. Nevertheless, a countdown timer emerges, adding urgency to their endeavor.

Cole informs Marc of Max's impending arrival. Meanwhile, Ricky and the others make a mistake, but George corrects them on the next attempt. Unfortunately, they make another error shortly after. George believes he knows the answer to the next password, suggesting "Tempest" due to Ashford's fondness for the Shakespearean play. They narrow down to the final password, with no more light beams to guide them and only 90 seconds remaining.

Cole continues his anxious wait for Max. In a heated discussion, Max insists that the last word is "George," arguing that Ashford had returned for him after all these years. Ricky tries "George," and it works. To their amazement, Ricky discovers that the bank account holds an astonishing $103,195,032.53. They all rejoice in their triumph. George realizes that it is time for Max to move on and urges her to join Cole. Max hurries to catch up with Cole, only to find her mother waiting outside her door. As Cole sets sail on the boat, the tension mounts.
