Will Trent – Season 1 Episode 9 1

Meanwhile, Faith finds herself amidst the court's hustle and bustle, discreetly administering her insulin in the ladies' room. Suddenly, gunshots shatter the tranquility, sending Faith scrambling to reassure Bonnie, the elderly woman accompanying her, before rushing out to ascertain the commotion.

Elsewhere, Trent is at the supermarket with Nico, engaging in mundane grocery shopping. An impromptu conversation with a fellow patron diverts his attention to a surprising revelation: Nico has secretly opened a social media account for Betty, Trent's beloved dog. However, before he can reprimand Nico, a phone call urgently summons him to the courthouse amidst the shooting spree.

Upon arriving, Trent discovers Ormewood already present, his characteristic agitation heightened at seeing Trent back in the thick of his case. Officer O'Hara, Andrew's former partner, is also there, his eagerness palpable to see Sam back behind bars and standing trial.

In the hallways, Faith and Bonnie's path crosses with Sam, who promptly takes Faith hostage. By the time Trent and Ormewood arrive on the scene, Faith and Sam have vanished into thin air. Sam forces Faith to drive at gunpoint, with her life hanging by a thread.

Aware of her diabetic condition, Faith informs Sam of their impending need to stop for medication. Once they do, Sam confines Faith in the trunk and heads into a store. Cleverly, Faith manages to wriggle free and attempts an escape, only to be thwarted once again by Sam.

They switch vehicles, leaving the police a half-hour behind in their pursuit. Officer O'Hara assumes command of the situation, which irritates Amanda, who fears for Faith's safety amidst the trigger-happy law enforcement officers in the manhunt.

Ormewood, another policeman closely affiliated with Andrew, is eager to apprehend Sam swiftly. While Ormewood and Angie are conducting surveillance on an unrelated case, Angie unexpectedly catches sight of her former foster father—a beast who once raped her, a truth she keeps concealed from Ormewood.

Switching focus to Faith, Sam brings her to a friend's residence, endeavoring to persuade her of his innocence in Andrew's demise. He harbors hope that his friend, who served as his alibi during the murder, will vouch for his clearance. Upon entering the house, they discover Sam's friend already wounded, apparently targeted by someone before they arrived. Shockingly, Officer O'Hara appears on the scene and fires again at Sam's friend, instantly terminating his life.

With Faith at gunpoint, O'Hara communicates with the police station, falsely identifying her as the shooter and asserting a conspiracy between her and Sam. Reacting swiftly, Faith disables Officer O'Hara just as sirens blare in the distance. Tempted to stay and clarify the situation, Faith hesitates until Sam convinces her otherwise, and they hastily depart the premises.

Director Armstrong considers removing Trent from the case due to his and Amanda's disbelief in Faith's guilt concerning Sam's friend's death. According to the director, Faith and Sam share a past; she had arrested him seven years prior, coloring their history with a complicated hue.

Meanwhile, Faith and Sam traverse the dense forest, with Faith now fully convinced of Sam's innocence, framed as he was. Desperate to reach Trent, they forge an alliance, bound by a common plight. Pulling over at a roadside convenience store, Faith craftily employs Betty's social media account to dispatch a message to Trent.

Angie, overwhelmed by the sight of her foster father, seeks solace at an AA meeting. She clings to the hope that she won't relapse into addiction, yearning for a semblance of control in her life.

Elsewhere, Ormewood and Trent arrive at the crime scene, where inconsistencies in Officer O'Hara's narrative become apparent. As Trent delves deeper with probing questions, Officer O'Hara becomes defensive, waving his jurisdictional authority. This sparks a confrontation between Ormewood and Trent, with Ormewood urging Trent to back off. Upon revisiting the scene meticulously, Ormewood concedes that Trent's suspicions were justified. Soon after, Nico receives Faith's message and promptly conveys it to Trent.

Concurrently, Sam and Faith arrive at a secluded cabin, where Faith promptly handcuffs Sam. As Sam reminisces about their initial encounter and engages in idle chatter, Faith decides that a relaxing bath is in order after such a long and harrowing day. Seizing the moment, Sam attempts to make a daring escape, yet ultimately falls short of his goal.

Meanwhile, back at the station, Ormewood collaborates with Trent, conducting a covert interrogation of Andrew's wife at Trent's residence. Andrew's wife expresses her disbelief in Sam's guilt regarding her husband's demise. Trent uncovers that Officer O'Hara had kept Andrew's wife isolated and exhibited bizarre behavior, while Andrew himself had been scrutinizing O'Hara due to suspicions of corruption. Intriguingly, Andrew possessed a file on O'Hara at the time of his untimely death.

After an entire day of being unaccounted for, Angie returns and urges Ormewood to run Lenny's address through their system. Ormewood agrees to lend a hand without probing too deeply. Subsequently, Angie brings Lenny in for questioning on disorderly conduct charges. In a moment of reflection, Lenny attempts to apologize to Angie for raping her at the tender age of 15 and resulting in her pregnancy. However, Angie finds his apology unconvincing and cannot legally detain him further. As Lenny exits the station, he is greeted by his new family, prompting Angie to harbor concerns, especially upon noticing his stepdaughter with his new wife.

Elsewhere, Faith grapples with finding a resolution to their predicament. In response, Trent enlists Ormewood to search Andrew's former abode, hoping to uncover the buried file. With shovels in hand, they embark on their dig and, to their delight, discover the elusive treasure they sought. Before they can revel in their success, Amanda's call interrupts Trent, informing him that Sam and Faith have been spotted in Beacons.

Amanda is eager to reach the scene ahead of the other officers, ready to unleash a hail of bullets upon Faith and Sam, unaware of the impending peril that looms closer than they could fathom. By the time Faith and Sam perceive the danger, Officer O'Hara is already standing outside, his gun blazing at their window. Instinctively, Faith shields Sam, their lips meeting in a tender, fleeting kiss as she bravery defends them both. With unwavering resolve, Faith retaliates and brings Officer O'Hara down. The tension escalates as the reinforcement of officers arrives, prompting Faith and Sam to surrender themselves. Amanda subsequently joins the scene and safely escorts Faith back home. Trent, relieved and jubilant, welcomes his partner back, safe and sound.

As for Sam, his conviction has been overturned, yet his escape has left him entangled in a web of legal intricacies that he must still navigate. Meanwhile, Trent returns to his abode, his eyes catching sight of a bottle of nonalcoholic beer. Curious, he inquiries Angie about its presence, wondering if something had gone awry. She merely assures him that it was just a particularly challenging day.
